Hasbro's Official Transformers Fan Survey 2015

It seems this survey was released with UK fans in mind but it does ask your country of origin and even mentions Target stores in the questions (a shop that isn't a big chain in the UK) so I guess anyone can do it regardless of where you are from.

I just filled it out I wish I'd remembered to comment as to my desire to get some Deluxe Technobots though when I did it.

If you wish to complete the survey a couple of tips.

1) It's very long so give your self some time to do it.
2) It asks Questions about 3rd party toys so you might need to think do you want to admit to buying them so Hasbro does not see them as a threat, or use the survey as an excuse to say you only buy the things Hasbro doesn't make for example (perhaps that will encourage them to make more neat stuff).

NOTE: You don't get some follow on questions if you answer no to the previous ones.

---

The Survey asks some questions about your experience and interests as a fan, but does not request personal data, when it's over you get a graph with some data on that seems to vary for some people so you might like to make a note of it.

I got the Gender split data about 2/3rd Male 1/3rd female other people got info on how people described them selves as fans as another example.

Anyway enjoy it - and share your thoughts here.

P.s.

James Roberts Suggests you use the Survey to ask for MTMTE toys and Some others have suggested Trypticon, More Combiner Wars Deluxes, and even Signal Lancer.

So if you have any things you think the current and future lines are missing mention them here in case someone wants to add them too.

I really liked this survey because it seems like they actually care about fan input. I personally asked for more IDW characters like the DJD, Rung and Nautica. I also mentioned the beast combiners and I think that's something we all want.

Considering how big Target is in the US, they should make an effort to put more stores in the UK

This was a really well done survey and it looks like they're attempting to get real and valuable information.

With the kind of detailed questions they asked about 3rd party stuff, I think everyone should just say yes to buying something and review the follow up questions.

Like, who hasn't or didn't buy City Commander back in the day or the PE Combiner Wars upgrades? These questions can only help us all.

There is some Costcos in the UK (but they are Pretty rare) because Target owns ASDA that is their footprint in the UK - But ASDA is mostly a Grocery store - though they have specialist Homeware stores too. and they put in mezzanines a lot with other tat on the 2nd floor.

Target's in general have better toy Isles than UK ASDA stores - the odd thing is I can't say they've got better since Target bought them out they might have even got worse.

Target's leftovers often make their way to TK Maxx (TJ Maxx's UK based sister company)
If they have any other affiliates in the UK I've yet to see them.
So anyway I think that Survey had half a thought towards an International audience - perhaps they might adapt the text and run it in Australia as they have Target stores.

As someone has mentioned on another site the Hasbro Pulse Website is actually only supposed to accept USA based postal addresses so asking some one in the UK if they joined is also asking them - did you give us a bogus mailing address ? - Laugh.

I don't know why someone would be expected to know about a site that people in the UK are not even technically supposed to be able to sign up for.
I was barely aware of it and only even heard the name as someone said some video or other was linked from there some weeks ago might have been mentioned a time or two in relationship to Star wars news - which I wouldn't have even been looking for if not for Episode VI

I guess - otherwise I'd have never of heard of the site at all.
---------

Like mentioned above - My 1st thought was a bet a lot of people have some Weapons for Transformers Prime Optimus or a City Commander or Protector.

Or if people are looking for belated bargains those iGear Minibots can be rather cheap now.

I wonder what made them ask about 3d party - All those Dinobots or Comic character related sales they potentially missed out on perhaps ?

I won't list everything Hasbro wouldn't want me to have, But I know I have 2 Black, Two normal, and two Diacommanders.

The questions about manufactures did make me realise I lean Towards : iGear, MMC, Fansproject & Perfect Effect -with a fair few Doctor Wu and Renderform bits on top of that.

No 3rd party Dinobots yet though.

Oh and when you see Batman - read carefully a lot of people misunderstand that question and accidentally end the survey early because of it - it's actually asking if you have other collections - (which it then lists) & not if you collect Batman toys which a number of people have then answered no to and then stop the survey soon after.

That was a really well done survey. It looks like Hasbro really wants to understand what we want to buy (smart) and also why we're buying 3rd party.

I only buy 3rd Party upgrade kits these days, and those PE hands/feet should be required for collectors. They really make Menasor so much more poseable

Have you checked out nonnef? I know it'll be a longer wait, but the limbs do look to scale better with the limb-bots, so no clown shoes, and skeleton hands ;)

I wonder if anyone will make Ranchero units for Trailbreaker & Ironhide ?

Oh those replacement ratchets with more teeth are good too.

Same place is also doing rubber wheels for the Stunticons (and Optimus) which is nice to see.

Fellow Seibertronian RAR has made us aware of a survey called Modern Fan 2015. It's a follow-up to the Hasbro UK rep presence at Auto Assembly. If you select Transformers as a brand of interest, you will be directed to a bunch of very on the nose questions, including your budget for third party toys for instance. RAR describes the survey more in depth in his post below.

One thing though, they do ask for which toy you would like most to see issued or reissued. This is our chance guys, make it count. (I, for instance, kept asking for the following: G1 Overlord (reissue), G1 Dinobots (reissue) and Prime Breakdown)

I did like how personal and in-depth they seemed to make this survey. Like others have said, it sounds like they really want fan input & feedback and take it seriously. Even as someone who hasn't bought any 3rd party products and doesn't buy any of the toys regularly, I found it helpful & refreshing to give my opinions (such as they are) on the brand.

RAR beat me to the news credit

I tried to be really frank and honest with this.

Bizzarely, when I did it, the demographic was 60% female and really skewed in favor of IDW. Must've done the rounds on tumblr before it got anywhere else.

I used it as an opportunity to voice my irritation about not being able to find product and 3rd party buying habits and stuff.

Also asked them to plz plz plz make Reflector, Kickback, Barrage, Ransack, Venom and Brawn.

I threw in a suggestion that Hasbro tap third party designers as a possible resource. rather than fighting them, remember that the people who love transformers, just like courage, are stronger when combined.

But the problem is that a few 3p companies are made up by ex-hasbro. There must be a reason they left.

For most overrated character I put Bumblebee. I hope that was the overall consensus.

very true- and staying to Hasbro only favorites was tough too. my additional comment was about "false chest syndrome"

I took the survey from the US. I wrote in depth about Lego's marketing model and blasted Habro for their garbage excuses for not having a proper web store with every product available to all markets around the world, as well as their own physical stores, period. I suggested they were looking at a tax issue and they would see a significant increase in sales and profits if they followed the Lego model. I wrote all this in the comments to the question asking if there was a difference between being a fan in the US and outside the US. I also specified UK and Australia as I to my knowledge those are two of the most wronged markets by Hasbro.

I also slammed them for not including character specific weapons. And I suggested they follow the Voltron model from way back when the Lions were first released without the iconic sword and shield, which was released after many complaints separately. I asked why they couldn't have released the Prime Star Saber and Dark Star Saber in this way, as well as other special weapons. I also invoked Lego here as they make upgrade kits for Ninjago and Chima. Hasbro could do the same.

Basically, I gave them a stern talking to. :michaelbay:

I had to think about it. My favorite line is CHUG, and he's not overly represented. The question was line specific. But I still went with Bee even though Starscream may have the lead on him. The difference is collectors seem to love the seekers, whereas Bee, not so much. We stand united! :PEACE:
