Menasor sword

So I bought all 5 stunticons and one extra Motormaster to display by himself.
My question is has anyone cut off / shaved down the peg for the "gun" part of the sword? I'm thinking of trimming one off for Menasor and leaving the other as is for Motormaster. If so.... How did it come out?

I'm guessing it will leave some sort of unsightly spot where it won't have silver paint, maybe a silver sharpie could help cover that over to better match the rest of the sword.
Personally I'd just leave it as is, I like to give Menny a short sword and then put the gun half in one of Motormaster's fists up on the shoulder as extra armament, but it's your toy, so whatever makes you happy, that's great.

I could cut it off with the same cutter I use for taking Gundam parts out of their runners and sand it down with a file

Yeah, that's what I was thinking and then repainting it. I just was wondering if someone had already done it and if they liked the end product. I think I may just do it this weekend.
