Classics Op/G1 trailer quick photo request

I'm just wondering how the Classics Optimus mould looks like with the G1 trailer connected. Can anyone take a quick pic? And let me know if it's at least a decent connection to the trailer hitch, or if it's completely different?

Yes, I know there's 3rd party ones, but I don't want to pay those prices for them.

Ryan has a no 3rd party policy. Maybe try in his old image sets or the 3rd party section. Also, google images might give you a lucky break.

Heh, think you misread that. I said I'm NOT interested in the 3rd party trailers, I'm asking about hooking him up to the proper G1 trailer and how well it connects. Does it sit flat in line or is there a height difference meaning the trailer slants? Google will only show me customised ones, but I'm curious to see how they match up unaltered. Hence, I posted in the official tf toy forum. :)

1st party as in the DoTM ones? I don't think they are compatible with the Classic Op figure.

The orogonal G1 is aligned to it.

A little googlefu turned up a tutorial on tfw2005 about modifying a G1 or G2 (the first one that was basically G1 redeco) trailer into a trailer for Classics OP, but it looks complicated and involves cutting up the G1 Optimus Prime's legs.

Yep. That's why I'm trying to find a photo of an unmodded one. So I can see how well they go together. I don't mind if the hitch doesn't physically go, as long as it looks like it does. But Google searches I can only find modded trailers.

I have a spare classics prime and a junker G2 prime trailer laying about at home, I'll whip something together for you tonight and put it up after I get home from work. ;)

By Classics Prime, do you mean the voyager sized one with the door "shields" on the forearms, and the rounded hood on top that turns into a gun? The one that was also released as Ultra Magnus in a two pack with Skywarp?

Or do you mean the deluxe sized one that came in a two pack with a tank version of Megatron?

I've got the Voyager Ultra Magnus (though I've painted him into an OC) and I've got the G1 trailer, but I do not have the other one.

:D

Not the G1 trailer but the Movie Mechtech trailer with Classics Voyager Optimus Prime ;)
Its a nice looking trailer and works well with Op in alt mode. :BOT:

Yeah, the voyager one is what I'm after. I keep forgetting there was a deluxe one as well.

Oooh, that mechtech trailer looks like a good fit. Maybe if I can find a cheap one of those, that could work. Thhanks for the photo! :BOT:

Looking at that modified one, it seems like the G1 trailer will angle down towards the back. But how much of an angle is the question.

It doesn't "stick" but you can set it there if all you want to do is display it.

If you fold up the "kneecaps" you can get the trailer a bit closer, too. (I can't find my exhaust pipe gun at the moment, so I don't know if that would interfere...)

It's very slight, but there is a tilt to the trailer, since classics OP is a little taller than G1 OP.

Thanks Chimera. Those are perfect.

Hmmm. The wheels seem a little small compared to Op, but otherwise that works. Now to keep an eye out for one of those trailers or for a mechtech trailer.
