How do you guys think a MP Astrotrain would turn out? I wonder which of the three modes would be sized mp "scale" ?

Takara already confirmed the answer. For the entire MP line they are only making the robot modes scale with oneanother. The robot mode wouldnt be bigger than MP 10 and thus both the shuttle and train wouldnt be that big.

I totally get the reasoning for that (cartoon-wise and toy-wise), but it's one of the things that bugs me a bit about having all the characters turn into robots of approximately the same size. Too much "mass-shifting." Make Astrotrain turn into a behemoth robot; make Soundwave small enough to fit in someone's hand. I'm willing to sacrifice gun-mode Megatron if that's what it takes.

Based on the old cartoon at least, Astrotrain was a bit taller then Optimus. But then again so was Grimlock and his mp toy is way shorter then Optimus.

Suppose lack of scale is just an intenional transformers thing, even the new Rescue bot toys I bought my kids has the largest robot on the show as Salvage, yet the toy is 1/3 smaller then the rest of them.

But if they did announce a mp Astrotrain I'd still be the first on the preorder list :-D

According to the official G1 scale, Astrotrain is not taller than Optimus:

A third party (DX9) made an attempt at one. It's pretty cool. I'd like to see an official one, I think they could make it a bit better, but I do like this one a lot and using this as a basis/inspiration for a "true" MP Astrotrain would be ok by me.

I wish it were a bit blockier, but it does look nice in all three modes and is geared more towards cartoon accuracy as opposed to toy accuracy like the Toyworld one linked to earlier in this thread.

What I really want is a non-transforming, gigantic Astrotrain shuttle that the other Decepticons can fit in. That will never happen, but the Titans Return rumors, when we didn't know what scale Sentinel Prime/Astrotrain were based on the line art, sure were fun to speculate on.
