Unfortunately, while I would love to get Fort. Max for my collection, I have to draw the line somewhere. I'm going to have little room for a whole series of Titan class figures; after Devastator, my last one will be the potential Trypticon to go with Metroplex.

REALLY hyped for this.

Now I just need to sort out some shelf space to put him on.

The art makes the remolded Metroplex parts really obvious - legs, hands, etc. Seems like besides for the core torso, most of the titan is recycled. Not that I'm complaining; I'm not sure we would have been able to get him otherwise.

So... no treads. Guess that leaked pic was legit after all, figured it was anyways, those treads would've been a huge use (waste) of plastic at his size

New artwork from packaging showcases upcoming characters and products for 2016

The TRANSFORMERS team has pulled back the curtain on some of their plans for 2016, and the Hasbro Pulse has gained exclusive access to artwork from packaging for the upcoming Titans Return Leader Class Powermaster OPTIMUS PRIME and Titan Class Fortress Maximus from the Generations series.

Fortress Maximus is the third member of the Titan Class of Transformers robots, following in the cavernous footsteps of Metroplex and Devastator. This massive AUTOBOT converts into a city for the Titan Master figures.



Also in 2016, the Generations line presents the first Optimus Prime figure in the new Leader scale with Powermaster Optimus Prime. The Autobot Leader is a Titan Master, and his head can convert into the robot Autobot Apex.

Hasbro's presentation earlier this week showed the small mini figure included with Powermaster Optimus Prime would be called Apex (a name used for Godbomber in the Hasbro reissue of Powermaster Optimus Prime). However, in this text from Hasbro, the name "Ginrai" is used which conflicts with what we were told previously. Update: We have been informed that the name is in fact "Autobot Apex" instead of Ginrai.

A lot more blue in the artwork on Prime there particularly on the forearms which is more like the smaller robot of the original figure.

Also for some reason red shoulder guns on the robot and silver on the truck?

Yeah, the art doesn't really accurately depict the figures, does it? Especially on lil Hi-Q there, definitely more paint apps there than on the toy

Well darn about the treads, but holy cow that Fort Max looks amazing!!! And I am ok with Prime. Time will tell, but he may be a possible buy

I thought it was confirmed the head turns into Cerebros?

Prime looks awesome; I'm still resentful over magnus being garbage, but I need some version of this mold, and Prime looks much cooler than magnus ever did, what with his dumb defensor-style aviators

At the same time, I love Magnus, and the irony of Magnus usually being a prime repaint is not lost here. But I mean it looks very different, just like Fort Max, but I'm not sure yet. Definitely looks good though.

i hope im not the only one drooling over the epicness of 2016 powermaster optimus prime

i'd wish it come sooner for my birthday that is coming up in 4 weeks

OK, just noticed this: on Max's right chest area, there is a red area that appears to be a swivel, implying that the right arm can rotate in front of the chest area when transforming into a new mold. that, coupled with the legs splaying out sideways and the chest area forming a tower, seems to me imply that this is a new mold using some old parts, such as the arms and leg splitting area.

Sara Pitre-Durocher was the art director for the Titan Returns packaging art.
She is also one of the current artists on the IDW comics.

Yahtzee would find a lot to comment on in those Optimus Images the embers in the air thing is something he often mocks on "Judge by the cover".

No prizes for guessing what Universe II toys that artist had on their desk for reference purposes.. who seem to be suddenly Decepticons.

If they'd make Smokescreen G2 colours I might have been a tiny bit more impressed that imply Smokescreen and Sideswipe are Stunticons as this image does.

optimus looks like hes colored the way he would be with the god bomber armor on but the picture of the toy its self looks more like its without it

There was an implication in the Devastation game that "in the near future" (and the game is a Combiner Wars prequel), Wheeljack would die, Bumblebee would take on new forms beyond Goldbug, and Sideswipe would become a Decepticon. I'm pretty sure all those hints were coordinated with Hasbro consumer products if not handed down by them. Sideswipe might betray the Autobots soon and they might even run with the idea that G2 Smokescreen is the G1 Smokescreen, reformatted as a jet.
