Hasbro has a new style of Transformers called "Alt Modes" coming out next year. These new products are along the lines of Bot Shots, Angry Bird Transformers, Q Transformers, and other similar "office desk fodder". The "Alt Modes" Transformers toys feature large heads that have a body that transforms from vehicle mode to robot mode. Check out images below of Optimus Prime, Nemesis Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker! Make sure you let all of us here at Seibertron.com know about what you think of these products on our forums by clicking

These look awful, better than Funko style figures, but still really awful looking.

It doesn't look like the bodies "transform" into alt mode so much as simply exchange with each other inside the head. I'm guessing each head opens on the pins in the crown and the modes swing around on the hinge in the neck.
I'm curious as to what the hook on the side of each neck is for; presumably a launcher of some kind?

Scrolled down through the images, shook my head slowly, typed this response of depression and now I'll click submit and close the tab never to return.

Was wondering what these were, there was a tiny image of their case box in the Investor Day presentation this week. Remind me a lot of the Dark of the Moon Burger King kids meal toys, just smaller and with a vehicle mode sticking out the bottom.

I was going say the same thing about how the modes probably just swap inside their heads.
My thoughts:
like the silly bot
very weird big head alt mode
head symbol, puzzled

I don't hate them aesthetically (they're not great, but they're not horrible either), but it's got no appeal for me since I don't have any real attachment to G1.
I can't help but think the Beast Machines Vehicons would have worked in this style, especially Tankor and Thrust.

I used to be a completist collector - it's stuff like this that is the reason why that is no longer the case.

If I buy these new toys in a store, will they be coming with a free coupon for a burger, fries, and a drink? Cause the last time I bought this kind of toy, I got a meal to go along with it.

I was very please to buy the large headed fast food toys - but that was because when I bought them they cost me 20p each at a Carboot sale.
I can't same the same idea is anywhere near as a appealing when a retail price is involved.

These guys looked pretty neat and fun. I may pick one up, but I'm about as tired of blind boxes as I am of rogue-types. I rarely win the RNG game

UMagnus Alt.Mode shall be mine! The figure looks awesome! The only downside, the Bot/Con insignia doesn't appear to be removable from the head.

I wonder if you would actually be able to find out which is which by feeling them? If they're not packed in boxes that is.

As a stand-alone product these still look sooooo weird. If they were special pieces for a board game or had some sort of tie-in with a mobile app they might make more sense.

Yeah, I'm probably not going to buy any of these. They just don't interest me that much.
*sees Sunstorm*
Well, screw that.

I was thinking the same thing until... Sideswipe. Maybe, if I'm hard up for a toy and it's there and looks better than I thought it did here, and...
