Questions about RID Rail Racer / Car Robots JRX

Hey guys, I just got the three bullet train set today and while its a lot of fun, I have some issues with it which the instructions dont explain and I hope you guys can help me out.

Firstly, the left foot of the combined form keeps sliding back in. Is there any way to stop that? The foot doesn't recede to block the leg from sliding down, unlike the right foot.

Also, to combine the trains together, the yellow hitch on the white gun wont go back. It doesn't seem the right shape to fold all the way back to form the hitch, is that just on mine?

Image

Lastly, how does he hold his weapons? The individual robots have small fist holes but the combiner hands have this much larger gaps that make it unfeasable to hold the weapons.

Let me know if you can clue me in on any of this, thanks!

Congrats! Is this the USA or JP version? Relation to your query? The USA versions from Car Robots have slightly loose connections.

I noticed it before when I previously owned the USA Fire Convoy and Ultra Magnus. When I shifted to the JP versions of Fireconvoy and Godmagnus, Omega Prime no longer fall down go boom!

Ouchi! So you have the JP version and can't decipher the manual?

Try this:

No, its not about the translation, the images are clear. This is about getting some tips from people who own this toy and have similar problems. If anyone has this toy and knows what I am talking about, any tip would be greatly appreciated.

I have the US versions (no sticky paint, yay!), so I may be able to help you.

1.) Try pulling the foot out fully until it locks into place, at least it does so on mine. If that doesn't work, set the legs at an angle, that'll provide that little more friction to do the job. Telescoping parts are a pet peeve of mine if you must know, especially if the catches wear out.

2.) Midnight Express/J-4's weapon actually splits in two: the main body which houses the spring mechanism, and the barrel. Separate them, then you can fully fold back the hitch on the barrel. The main body goes under the straight shoulder panel, the barrel along with the missile goes in the back of the train mode, missile first.

3.) There's a slight trick to Rail Racer/JRX's hands: fold in the four fingers first, then fold down the thumb. You should end up with a little square fist hole, the same size as the pegs for the weapons. Do keep in mind that gun made up of Midnight Express'/J-4 and Railspike's/J-5's weapons has a short peg, so it's prone to falling out.

THANKS!

Sadly though, there is no stop on this Japanese version for that leg. Pulling it out more doesnt do anything since I can see through the clear plastic that the slide has reached its limit.

So I pose him like Seibertron has him posed in the pic of the Hasbro one below where you can see that it isnt fully extended either. Oddly enough, the takara pictured on the right has the foot extended all the way :-?

For the hands, thanks, that works!

As for that hitch piece, I knew the gun could be divided in two (it comes divided) but the problem was that the hitch wasnt rounded out making it not want to go flush against the gun when you are flipping it from front to back. So I forced it and it works now but what was now a sharp 90 degree angle on that yellow piece has now been rounded by force. Its really odd that Takara didnt round it off making it more easier to flip the hitch around. I hope this doesnt affect the value of my toy (at least not more than the fact that it is now no longer mint).

In any case, thanks Jelze!

Pretty weird about the hitch, maybe a piece wasn't formed correctly? In any case, the middle yellow piece of the joint should aim down for the hitch, and no further. The last thing I want is the joint breaking because of my advice.
