TakaraTomy designer
Hisashi Yuki has Tweeted a New Years photo featuring the Beast Wars Metals X-9 Metals Jaguar figure, which was a Japanese exclusive retool of Transmetal Cheetor released as Ravage back in 1999. The photo contains the message of あけましておめでとうごがいます, which seems to be a typoed form of あけましておめでとうございます, which means "Happy New Year".
But the real meat of this Tweet is the text that accompanies the photo, in which Yuki announces that TakaraTomy will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars with Beast Wars-related events and toys planned for release in 2016! As we've already seen previews of what the upcoming
Masterpiece Convoy (Beast Wars)/Optimus Primal will look like, who knows what other new Beast Wars goodies Takara has in store for the year!
あけましておめでとうございます。
今年はBW20thイヤーのスタートです!BW関連のイベントや玩具の発売も予定されていますが、通常のTF達にも凄い展開が待っていますので、よろしくお願いしますにゃ♪

Glad TT's seemingly celebrating BW properly, it deserves it - screw hasbro for ignoring it for G1 crap

I'd still love to get my hands on the BW Metals Ravage figure - hopefully they'll re-release it this year

Fellow Seibertronian
Sabrblade has taken the time to give us some context surrounding new information about 2016 (it happened!) from Takara Tomy, via usual suspect
Hisashi Yuki on Twitter. The short version is that it appears the Japanese company is indeed planning on celebrating the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars - find out more below!

I'm in shock Botcon did not do the boxed set as a Maximal combiner, with CW Optimus as Primal, and the rest of the crew as arms and legs.

I wonder if it will be re-releases or perhaps new molds? Though I'm guessing more the re-releases...
Though a masterpiece Dino megatron would be awesome

This is most excellent news. Between the possibility of new Beast Wars toys, potential for reissues (Rampage please, Takara!) and the inevitable hilarious outpouring of salt from the usual suspects over TRUKK NOT MUNKY, 2016 will be a very, very good year. Yessss...

I'm thinking we'll be getting The Maximal Combiner (in BW Combiner colors of course) from the following...
Ironhide from CW Motormaster
Prowl from CW Prowl
Silverbolt from CW Air Raid
Add Tigatron using the same mold as Ravage and Airazor from another jet and viola.
Just need to add another 2-pk and the attendee.
I'd like to see Inferno, Quickstrike and Skorponok as part of the group.

You know, Pete's teased that (not quoting, paraphrasing) one of the souvenir figures this year is going to be something very popular and special for US collectors. Now that I think about it, I bet it is Transmetal Ravage. All for it if so!

I would think Silverbolt would be better off with using the firefly mold actually since those are the magnaboss members

Um I would doubt that considering the box set is having ravage as part of the main box set I doubt they would release the same character in a pre beast wars theme but in his transmetal 2 incarnation

They already did a box set for the maximals it was Dawn of Futures Past pretty sure thats exactly why there are too pre wars beast wars counuities too its Beast Wars Uprising and pre-Beast wars and the box set is based off pre-beast wars counuity so they didn't do another box set of maximals

At least Takara's doing something for the occasion. Words cannot express how annoyed I am that Hasbro's shown no signs of giving a crap.

Uprising isn't "Pre-Beast Wars", it's "non-Beast Wars". It's a continuity that doesn't have the characters go to Earth to get beast modes.

Yeah, but some of them
(terrosaur/airazor) would be really difficult to engineer. But Scorponok, Megs, o/p would be easy to update, and you could even pull some gen arcee shenanigans with black arachnia/tarantulas (hips and legs forming large parts of the alt mode, etc.)
