Hello. I purchased the transformers prime entertainment pack from a high rates seller in eBay. A couple of days later I was messages by another eBay user about the item and how it was packaged and if it smelled like smoke. He had purchased a masterpiece sound wave from him that was supposed to be misb never opened. He doubted that because of dust and some other things. It is getting me worried about the item he sold me and if it really was misb never open as his description states. Comparing it to other sellers items from the open window on the box I can see the ties are exactly the same as the ones that I purchased. Would ties holding the figures be a hard thing to duplicate? There is tape on the top edges but I see in other listings the same thing. Is there any other way to tell? And my other question is does anyone still have this sealed in box? Again I am a casual collector and I just don't want to be made a fool of. Thanks

I have a question. The other "ebay user" who messaged you, did he/she contact you or you contact him/her?

First, maybe before you purchased the item, you pm'ed the other "satisfied" customers of the seller

Second, did you contact the seller prior to purchase?

Did you do the first two questions I raised?

How to tell if MISB?

Check the gum of the tape.

Check the box's edges.

Sometimes, MISB but got crunched during transit so technically he was telling the truth

Sometimes stock are "rejects", damaged outside but mint inside.

The other buyer contacted me. I did not pm other customers of the seller but I did check his selling and buying history and it was very good. A couple neutrals and one negative. The other buyer bought a masterpiece Soundwave. The description states misb never opened. Again I just started collecting as I recently got into the prime series. I don't care so much about the box. But the seller shouldn't state the item is "new" never opened and sealed if it isn't. And if he could lie too one buyer why not more. The item I bought has an open window and the figures are held in place with twist ties. Comparing pics to other listings the twist ties are all in the exact position as on the one I purchased. Don't know if that could be a factor that the figures were not removed? Like I said I am new to this and was just wondering maybe if someone had more info on the item I purchased. Thanks

Some sellers fudge the truth a bit or post an image of just "one" side of the item. Really. You meet all kinds.

Also, an image would help a lot.

That last pic looks like the box has been resealed with new tape. You can see one piece has been cut and another placed over the top. This isn't concrete proof that it isnt new though as some boxes do come new like this, they may have been opened for inspection or something.

I took pics of the bottom of the box. Only one piece of tape. Will post a pic later. If you look at the pic of MEGATRON you can see a clear plastic tie by his hand. Wouldn't that have to have been cut for it to be opened?? Again I apreciate all the replies very much.
