Easy:

- I am not fond of the lack of detailing. I understand everything being flat on a cartoon model but on a toy it just looks off to me.
- Speaking of being too cartoon accurate, I am not too fond of the alt mode's sides. Its clearly the arms and I dont know how it will look from an overhead view. Of course the G1 toy couldnt be a perfect fire truck and the show model imitated it, but now that means the MP has a very dodgy alt mode.

Are you whining about the vehicle mode on purpose?

It's perfectly cartoon accurate, and that's what the MP line is all about. You werent complaining about Primal's gorilla mode if I recall.

Also, this is pretty damn close to the original truck anyway.

Out. Of. The. Park! They really nailed this one, he looks perfect to me all around.

That's a shorter hose truck, not the bigger ladder truck with the extra tires in back. ;) This is as close as we'll likely find.

I would like to have some idea of scale.

I was turned off from Ocular Max's as soon as I found out he was no bigger than Ironhide in alt-mode. A fire truck should not be the same height as a small van.

I was considering taking a chance on X-Transbots' because the fire truck was about the right size and the detail was supposed to be real-world accurate, but I canceled that as soon as I saw the ladder trick on the official version.

Now my only reservation is the size, but since I very rarely convert them to save wear, I suppose it's not a dealbreaker, but I would like to know the alt-mode wouldn't look ridiculous next to the others if I did decide to display them that way for whatever reason.

But... that's not just show-accuracy, it's also toy accuracy:

Whether cartoon or toy, that's just how Inferno's altmode is. ;)

Thats what I said. The animation model was based on the toy, so with the MP referring to the show model, it send up being accurate to the toy as well.

Maybe Inferno scanned a fire truck whose main body wasn't yet done being manufactured. :P

Looking at that Figure King page I feel like I'm looking at stills from the cartoon.. except this is an actual object. It's so spot on. Love this line.

(But where I'm going to put Inferno and Grapple? Need more shelf space!) (And now I want a "properly" retooled Red Alert even more.)

Do you guys think 3P was a factor in Takara's character choice or that it was just a coincidence? Could this be Takara's way of eliminating the "competition?" Like "there are three 3P infernos. None of them has a magic ladder, or the ability to turn their heads with the wings, or interchanging heads and bumpers. And none are as accurate. So the next time a wannabe MP comes along be patient and wait for the real deal."

Waiting for them to one up the 3P Megatrons personally. ;)

I would not doubt that.

:HEADHURTS: where is trailbreaker?
:BANG_HEAD: where is jazz?
:-? I could make more money on toys that haven't already successfully been produced, marketed, and sold already by 3rd parties. That being said good job on a toy that someone already did a passable job on. [-(

By that logic, the ORIGINAL CREATORS of Transformers should just close shop and give the keys to 3rd party companies.

Actually by that logic Takara should give fans toys that they want rather than what they already have.
It's just good business. I want Takara to be around for a very long time.

Takara should already have molds for all of the g1 line and snipe the third parties before they can release theirs. I like third parties because they force takara to up their game

Your logic is completely flawed. YOU are not "the fans". What most fans want are the official products. The REAL DEAL is what get to increase in value over time and leave it's mark in the Transformers Legacy. 3P products will NEVER be the same as the real deal, no matter how good they get. It's a great alternative for the impatient with much money to burn. However, once the real product is out, the 3rP toy get burried and forgotten.

To make you understand, what if I made a "Star Wars" movie that is amazing, but with the names changed for corpyrights reasons. So, Disney should just cancel Episode 8 because of that? Are you getting your nonsense? If you prefer 3rP products, fine. But don't pretend that the thing YOU like should be the only thing available.

Anyway, we're getting way off topic here.

Unfortunately, many of the G1 molds are too damaged or even destroyed. That's why the Dinobots and several others were never re-issued. Still, K.O companies have reverse-engeneered these molds and these K.Os are out as "reissues" on Ebay. Takara could do this as well, but it may be because the ressources are used to make more new things than old ones.

That, we can agree on. Let's hope the recent Appolion will force them to make a new MP Megatron.

Pretty sure he meant Takara should have released MP molds for all the G1 main characters before the 3 p companies have a chance.

But I am of the other mind. I am ok with 3 p companies doing it first. Fans can either wait for takara or buy placeholders and takara can take their time and learn from other people's mistakes. I wouldnt be able to afford all the MPs if they came out all at once. This year is crazy enough.
