It's insurance. I am willing to pay that price for this figure, due to it's limited availability. If he shows up on Amazon for cheaper, I'll get him there. But, I no longer have the ability to hang out on the Internet hitting refresh until the figure becomes available. Perhaps Groove will be available well after this weekend, like Quickslinger and Brake Neck last year. But I don't want to risk it. This is a reason I am okay paying a bit more with a retailer like BBTS.

It's all capitalism. I find it a bit harsh that BBTS is considered a scalper. If people are willing to pay the price, we do. If not, then the choice to wait on HTS or Amazon is very valid too. Capitalism! ;)^

Well said! Plus it's BBTS, you can always cancel your order if you can get it from HTS at retail when it goes up, better safe then sorry.

It might as well have been minutes for those of us who were already in bed when the preorder went live and didn't see it until 5:30 this morning.

My guess is that HTS is waiting for the MAYMAYHEM 15% off code to expire today before they release him on their site. But even then, regular retail is much better than the inflated prices on BBTS.

That may be the saddest thing of all. If HTS waits until their May Mayhem coupon expires to release their May Mayhem figures, that's just disappointing. Almost as bad as putting up Christmas lights in August, but taking them down Christmas Eve.

Since this isn't one of HTS's regular items, the code wouldn't work on it anyway. The same thing happens any time they have a coupon code and a leftover con-exclusive item at the same time. They're probably waiting for the code to end before releasing Goove so that they don't get a deluge of "Why isn't my code working" emails.
The x-mas light analogy is pretty apt, though. ;)^

That's strange as the text for the coupon specifically says "Excludes HasbroToyShop.com exclusives and gift cards" which would include con-exclusives like the SDCC sets, but Groove isn't an HTS exclusive, it's an online only item.

Thanks for the heads-up, WJ; unfortunately, my usual go-to place was sold out on preorders, but I was able to snag an order on Scramble Core. Didn't go the Entertainment Earth way because of that predicted October release!

Got mine 3 weeks ago. He's awesome. I like Rook a lot and have been totally cool with the new limbs but putting him in Defensor really does make him feel complete. It's just a sense of satisfaction

I pulled the trigger on Scramble Core as well, but that shipping price :-( . I usually do bulk shipping through BBTS, AmiAmi, or wait for free shipping from HTS. I've got my one now, but I'm going to wait until HTS has them before getting a set of 4 to make a groovy Defensor.

Guess I happened to check BBTS just in time, if someone above says they were sold out by 5:30. I just had a whim to check somewhere around 4:45 or so and got my order in.

The price. Frankly I didn't know what anyone else was charging. I ordered from BBTS because I've ordered from them a lot before and they've always done right by me. Would I have liked to pay less? Sure. But frankly I'm less bothered paying voyager price for a deluxe than I was a month back when I paid deluxe price for a legend Shockwave on Amazon (BBTS didn't have it or I would have ordered from them).

Death has ordered - for... review purposes of course....

BBTS says the figures are supposed to arrive for shipping 'by late May'. That's kind of here already, isn't it?

Does anyone think any Canadian retaillers/stores will have him? I really do want him but I'm still on the fence about ordering from Australian or american stores at the moment. :-?

A canadien retailer did have him but it is now sold out: https://www.canucktibles.ca/products/co ... uxe-groove

Also, Ages 3 and Up might have him too but not yet: http://www.agesthreeandup.com/search.ph ... ve&x=0&y=0

It will probably never be at walmart.ca or tru.ca or amazon.ca because they did not participate in may mayhem last year. Your best bet will probably to get him at amazon.com when they restock.

The August date release from the Australian site was the biggest reason I hesitated to pre order him earlier today. Also, a local store in Montreal had last year Quickslinger and the Wildrider figure in july. I sent a message to ask if they will have Groove in stock. If they don't, I might pick him up from an american one. Hopefully, TFsource will also have him.

Yeah, that was toys on fire. But those are importers, they dont get their merchadise from Hasbro and sell at a premium. They might get groove, but they would sell him for 30$ +tax minimum. Thats how much they were selling Arcee for.

Yep, it was Toys on Fire. I'm more and more considering ordering from the Australian store now (Red Robot Toy shop). Has anybody done business with them before? With the current exchange rate and their shipping, it's still cheaper then having gone with BBTS (not by much though) but waiting until August suck...
