New Figure Kings 229 Magazine Scans AU Phone Transformers and TLK Toys

The new Figure King magazine is in and Loopaza scanned all the juicy Transformers pages for us.

You will see more images of those new cell phone Transformers called AU Transformers (since it is an AU phone). We can see Optimus, Megatron and Bumblebee.

The rest is filled with movie toys from their Transformers The Last Knight TLK line with a 2 page spread for the Age of Extinction Bumblebee repaint which still has fans scratching their heads as to how this can be coming from Takara. They sure seem proud of it though, showing off all it's angles.

One Step toys are also present as is the Toysrus Exclusive Voyager Optimus Prime.

If anyone is looking for a difference in the paint apps, there are a few more present on Beserker compared to the Hasbro counterpart but that seems to be it. Let us know if you spot any more differences between these and the Hasbro versions.

Huh, a shame the Takara versions seem to be nigh-on identical to the Hasbro versions. I'm sure we'll get better painted premium versions later, but still, disappointing. I will say though, with actual care taken for posing, Berserker looks awesome.

I fail to understand how taht bee deserves a 2 page spread when its easily the least exciting toy from the entire line.

Epecially when they released this 3 years ago:

More yellow plastic/paint equals more "kid appeal"?

Yeah, I mean it's a great figure. I have the Hasbro one (with some extra painting) and the oversized Voyager class KO.

I just don't get the fuss they seem to be making when really it's "hey, kids! Remember that nifty Bumblebee figure you got a few years ago? Well now you can buy a crappier version! Woo!"

It makes no sense, even hasbro hasnt done that with their stuff yet. I dont remember them buying a billboard advertising the RID redeco of stomp and chomp grimlock. This one really is a headscratcher. And the thing is (please correct me if I am wrong) but that figure king magazine is collector oriented right? So how do they think this is the big selling point?! unless they know this is the toy that needs the most advertising since its their weakest offering.

There sure is a lot of missing paint on that bumblebee on his arms and legs especially.

It's amusing as heck that I could find half a dozen Plus KO's that are better in every respect than that toy - some of them even include metal - I could buy a 35 or 45cm KO Bumblebee on ebay right now for about the same price that would cost to buy from somewhere like BBTS.

I wonder how many people are looking at that Optimus and saying to themselves - oh that will be really cool when KBB or Wei Jiang etc..make a superior overscale KO version (#faceplam).

I would like to get a better look at the new hound toys though - and I am also kinda curious about Onslaught too.

I suppose the only interest to both those Bumblebees is that they are Yellow and not orange - some people may like that as an option.

It's the Bumblebee effect. They know he's one of the biggest sellers of any movie line so they're going to promote the hell out of it. Who cares that there's a new Optimus Prime figure right there, this is Bee! Real scary thing is Takara Tomy probably told them to do it.

The very new stuff like the Megatron figures aren't shown because they can't take a chance of it being leaked ahead of the Wonder Festival reveal.

I know, I think thats where all of ours fears have been coming from.

And smart thinking about the leaks, they had to provude that magazine pics ahead of time and didnt want to give aeway that megs.

Yo people, my 3 Dreads are locked up. Is Berserker a new mold?
I don't remember those feet looking like that.

Bee isn't very good looking. How about giving Deluxe Leadfoot another go?

Incidentally, is DotM Crankcase worth it? He looks pretty awesome and his giant gun (complete with springy claw gimmick) looks fun, but I hear he has a few issues.

He certainly does, but loose joints isn't his most major one:

1.) His hands are the most troubling. Initial releases have a long middle finger, so it comes as no real surprise that later ones have them snipped... badly. Even later releases, including the Japanese versions, have the hands retooled to remedy that.

2.) His dreads are rubbery and hard to move without breaking the clear plastic hinges, unfortunately you have to do just that for vehicle mode. It's a really tight squeeze to make everything fit.

Even takara couldn't save broadside's jet mode. At least they aren't using stickers for the flight deck which is the only thing that bothers from that alt mode on the hasbro version

That little non-transforming movie accurate Sqweeks figure shown a couple times on those pages (like posed next to MPM Bee), are we getting that at all in the west?

No. It's from a Japanese toyline called Metalcore that sells tiny, mostly die-cast versions of licensed characters. They did an AOE Prime and Bumblebee a while back.

I'd like to note that's not supposed to be read as "Metal Core". Rather, it's short for "Metal Collection", or "MetaColle".

And no name for the Repugnus drone? I'm disappoint.

:EDIT: One thing I noticed when I recorded the ID numbers for the toys: in series, they follow the Hasbro product codes, so when put side by side, everything is in perfect order.

Well that sucks peanuts. I want that little metal Sqweeks! I love the Deluxe figure, sure, but it's not in scale with anything else and not movie accurate (since it was designed to actually transform whereas movie Sqweeks is busted up beyond that).

Gimme.

Then just get the tiny turbo changer, it will be in scale and will transform :)
