Tips for fixing tight waist swivels?

I recently bought Combiner Wars Deluxe Swindle, and while the toy is great in every mode I've found that the waist swivel is stiff, so much so that it's hard to move without popping off one of the ball joints in the hips. The only time I've really had issue with this is when I have Swindle in Combiner arm mode, it's hard to pose because of the tight swivel. Can anyone suggest a way to fix the waist swivel so it moves more smoothly?

Maybe putting some sort of lubricant in there? I don't know what would be safe for such a thing (I wouldn't use say, cooking oil), but I'd assume there's something that could be used.

That or just keep working the joint and hope it loosens up a bit naturally.

Some people might shave some plastic off, but that's a bit extreme for me.

Try WD-40.

Have you actually used that? I would think it would make your TF stink to high heaven, but if you've experienced otherwise please speak up. Also, technically WD-40 isn't a lubricant, but a water displacer. I don't really know what that means in regard to this sort of use, just thought it bared mentioning.

I was thinking something more silicone based, though admittedly, I have no idea if that would smell.

It has that tinee tiny straw. Just spray a bit. And, it doesn't stink too bad if you spray Lysol. And yes I did use it. No damage on my vintage Silverbolt shoulder connector. (The teeth on both sides of his shoulders that connects to his Superion arms).

Same as I use to "repair" the scratches and gooey melt with Armor all on MP-01's energon ax.
