It was kind of a big deal figure back then. you'd be hard-pressed to find a better-priced one these days.

Yep! Go back 4-5 years and I recall losing auctions for it where I bid $150. Finally grabbed it at TFcon 2014 for $80 or $90 and was thrilled. $50 is a "clearing space and taking the loss" price, or at least it seems that way.

The price of a few years back is irrelevant. Prices go up and down depending on demand and offer. When everyone go crazy for a figure, the price go up. When people don't care anymore, the price go down. Best example is Leader ROTF Megatron. In the DOTM days, when people were coitus-interuptus from a leader Megs, people flocked to the ROTF one. Seeing a ROTF leader selling for 200$+ even loose was not rare. Around 2 years ago, I had a spare one that I Ebay'd for 90$. And my last one, I threw-up at my local geek store for 30$ in store credits.

Regardless, the main value of a thing is in the eye of the beholder.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Transformers: The Last Knight Optimus Prime Voice Changing Helmet Found at Ross for $29.99

Several fans had found the original $79.99 price tag for the the Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet a bit hefty. For all those fans, we have some fun news thanks to cdavid3 who reached out to us with a sighting from Milpitas, CA. There, at a local Ross, he found this helmet for only $29.99, a %62.5 reduction from the original price. Would any of you buy it at that price? Let us know!

I WOULD!

Cos I like this design so much more than the old 2007 helmet I have, but the AoE electronic mask version doesn't fit as it's more of a child size so yes I would sell off the 2007 one and have this TLK one instead. I sometimes PS4 stream TF games like Devastation and Dark Spark while wearing the Prime helmet cos I'm a bit shy.

So yes if I can find a similar price reduction in the UK I would very much like this helmet on my shelf and occassionall worn on my noggin... meaning head.

M'eh - I got the ROTF version for $19 at Ross some time ago. As far as I can tell, the 'new' one uses the exact save voice chip with the same SFX and phrases. Only thing different is the molding.

25% Text Coupon on Toys in Target US Stores

PostPosted: Wed Nov 01, 2017 8:28 am
by Va'al
Fellow Seibertron.com News staffer Bounti76 has sent us notification of a sale taking place in Target stores, or at least, at the one Target store he visited: 25% off! The sale is actually set up as a coupon exchange, and you'll have to text 'TOY' to TARGET / 827438 to receive it. While not Transformers specific, the message was pinned in the Transformers section and applies to most toylines, though one item only, and Target still allegedly has the exclusive The Last Knight Autobots Unite sub-line in stock. Check out the image below, and let us know if you're successful in using it!

Found this at a Target in Centerville, UT. Not specifically for Transformer toys, but it works for them and was posted right next to their section.

Hahaha, I literally just snapped a pic of that at our Target. Gots to get up pretty early 'round here

Bummer my Target didn't have anything to use it one though. Glad it runs until the 11th. ;)^

Steal of a Deal: Transformers Movie Anniversary Edition Optimus Prime On Sale for $65.91

PostPosted: Wed Nov 01, 2017 10:32 am
by D-Maximal_Primal
Thanks to a heads up from Seibertronian cdavid3, we have news that the Transformers Movie Anniversary Edition Optimus Prime, the Amazon exclusive figure, is on sale right now for $65.91, which is $14, or about 18%, cheaper than the original price. The figure is a repaint of the original 2007 leader class figure, using the original blaster with launching projectile. The figure features some new chromed parts and lights and sounds. It is also available for free shipping.

Is this figure still worth anything to you? Is this mold worth getting again? Let us know what you think of the new price in the comments section below, and you can comment on the figure over in our Transformers Tribute line thread! And as always, stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all your latest Transformers news and galleries!

Not surprised, TBH. Really don't get why they thought anyone wanted a new version of THIS mold. At least the truck mode looks nice...

Saw that Target coupon at my local Target (Omaha) today too. So can confirm it's a nationwide deal.

Of course nothing I wanted to use it on either. :(

The 2007 Optimus leader is an AMAZING toy. However, there's WAY cheaper options than this repaint. Mainly the original release or even the vastly superior Premium edition.

Any fan of good transformers toys who have some spare change should have/get the mold (any editions) to try it out.

Rollback on Transformers Prices at Walmarts in Canada and the US

PostPosted: Wed Nov 01, 2017 8:25 pm
by william-james88
We have had several reports of this and now that Canada has joined in, it seems like a big chunk of North American Walmarts have rolled back their prices for several Transformers items.

In the US, it seems it is mainly with the Robots in Disguise line with reports of Warrior class toys being found for $9 USD.

Canada has had a more sweeping rollback with the movie toys being reduced to better reflect their prices in the US market. So leaders going from $69.97 to $54.86 ($42.74 USD), voyagers going from $39.99 to $29.86 ($23.26 USD), and deluxes going from $29.99 to $22.86 ($17.81 USD).

The most Combiner Wars Boxsets have lowered to $109.97 CAD while the exclusive Platinum Autobots set has decreased by $50, making it $149.97 CAD.

Finally, the deluxes and voyagers from Titans Return have lowered to $14.92 and $22.97 CAD respectively.

We must remember that all these prices being lowered coincide with each of these lines ending and thus will most probably not reflect what the prices of the upcoming new lines will be.

Look like the usual sales for Walmart. Nothing TrU ever did. In fact, Transformers have been on sale WAY more often at TrU than Walmart. Well, maybe THIS time I'll finally get Steelbane before missing out. I even have a whole bottle of Pledge Floor Finish at the ready. I don't think I'll ever see movie deluxes on sale at 10$ anyway. So might as well buy now.

Same, I already used all of my money. But it would be more helpful if the stores near me had that huge selection of toys, where I live the selection is terrible. :HEADHURTS:
