ROTF Leader Optimus Prime. I had been playing with that awesome guy for years. Then one day one of his blue back wings broke right off. It snapped just before the hinge, so there's no hope of gluing it back on. At least it still tabs in pretty securely in both modes, but it still sucks on such an awesome figure

More annoying than heartbreaking, but One-Step RiD Underbite basically breaks itself if you transform it too much.

Yes, my daugher's favorite one too. I've got to open him up and see if I can fix it. I've heard you can usually fix it , but it will just end up happening again, and again.

I'm not confident that I could figure out how it works.

It's a real shame that this guy didn't get any toys besides this and a tiny Legion figure, considering how prominent he was on the show.

Not to mention how he (and his entire species, Chompazoid) has recently been retconned to be a subspecies of Dinobot.

When did that happen?

(Also, is there a way to fix the toy, at least temporarily?)

When did that happen?
A little over three weeks ago in Episode 35 of Rescue Bots Academy, "Tyrannosaurus Wrecked". Grimlock namedropped both Underbite and Chompazoids in general as examples of some of the baddest Dinobots he's ever faced, in addition to namedropping Skowl.

Same episode also confirmed Ratchet to be Medix's uncle.

Ah, okay. I'm WAY behind on RBA.

Movie Bumblebee (1974 Camaro) His chest-tab assembly was faulty and never wanted to stay still without triggering the automorph...resulting in the car hood flipping into chest mode often mere moments after finishing turning him into car mode.
At best he'd remains still in car mode with a defective hood. At worst he's prone to knock nearby figures over or he'd fall off his shelf

I think he came faulty in the box. but toys can be expensive these days.

Got tired of him so i gave him away to my little cousins.

I had an RTS Wreck Gar break on me as I was transforming it to put it away. Transformed it tons of times and the handlebars broke. I subsequently cut off all the nubs off my Wreck Gar moulds. Enough is enough.

But it's not unfixable. If you're careful and use a strong enough glue you can glue it back into place. Cut off the nub so friction isn't a problem anymore.

FoC Kickback's front insect legs broke pretty easily on mine. Also, an honorable mention should go to the hood ornament on DotM Voyager Megatron, the shoulder kibble swings dangerously close to it, and after a close call I take great care not to decapitate that tiny dog. I would not be surprised at all to find out that it's broken on many of them, and would advise checking pictures of any loose pre-owned copies very carefully before purchasing.

Andrius wrote:There's a huge difference between the Wreck-Gar/Junkion mold and the rest of the things on this list -- if you transform it properly, it will NEVER break. The others all have weak plastic or design defects, but the Junkion mold is durable, as long as you're cautious and don't rush the subtle auto-transform effect.

I must have 25 of these, between the various incarnations, exclusives, and plenty of duplicates, and not a single one has broken.

My Generations Junkheap's handle broke the same way as pictured in this post. It was due to missing a step, folding the handlebars, several times. I stored it for a while until I recently found a glue that holds better than regular super glue, Loctite's Ultragel Control. This stuff really works, specially on moving parts.

How about Dragonstorm? A $50 toy that could break as you're taking it out of the box seems like enough to piss anyone off.

I agree. If any of my power of the prime bludgeon: power of the prime bomb-burst or siege optimus prime happen to happen to break on me i'd be mad too  :BOOM:

Costly sets or imports are not a good thing to experience breaking. (My imports were because PotP wave 3 and siege voyager optimus never came to iceland in stores)

It's not just that it's expensive and breakable (though yeah, I've broken my share of expensive and/or imported toys that I'm no longer able to replace, and that feeling is pretty terrible), it's the part where it's notorious for breaking WHILE YOU'RE OPENING IT that I feel makes it stand out. Mine is actually okay, but I think that's just blind luck more than anything else.
