Takara confirmed there wont be the god bomber armor since they are doing Super Ginrai and not God Ginrai. Well at last thats what is written on the sketch they released of the upcoming toy.

What about a separately sold Godbomber?

That just means that if any Godbomber were to be made it would come separately from Takara's figure, like how the original Godbomber was also a separate release from Super Ginrai.

but now a 3rd party could step in in and with this figure it wont look so odd

New Galleries: Titans Return Fortress Maximus with Cerebros and Emissary

If our two latest galleries here on Seibertron.com were Transformers Titans Return Leader class figures (Powermaster Prime and Blaster), and before that we brought you the full first wave of deluxes (Scourge, Blurr, Hardhead and Skullsmasher) it's probably time for the main dish, right?

Dive right in below with the new biggest Transformers figure out there, beating Generations Metroplex by not that much: Titan class Fortress Maximus, with Cerebros and Titan Master Emissary! The latter looks like Headmaster Spike of old, but with Cerebros' headsculpt, and Fort Max himself is shown off in city mode, battle station mode, robot mode, compared to a number of big bots and within the Titans Return line itself - plus a special human guest for further comparison, too. Check it all out by clicking on any of the images below!

The Pics are great! But Optimus' base mode looks like ass when combined to the other bases and thats too bad. It really does look like a kid just gave up in mid transformation.

Thanks for showing that to us, no one had done so yet. Its really off how the flap ends up in the air.

Are we to therefore understand that Fortress Maximus is taller than Metroplex?

By head yes, by shoulders no

Whle I understand the need to give Fort Max some guns, his legs really look naked without them.

Is it possible to leave the legs flat but open them in city mode (like on Metroplex's city mode) so that the open boots can act as garages?

Is it possible to put G1 Metro's head on this guy? There was an early picture to that effect, but I can't find confirmation otherwise.

How about Megabolt Megatron?

G1 Metroplex's head was removeable?

haha, ok, I will stop teasing.

Its possible to put his head there but just like its possible to put any object of that size. It just rests there but nothing locks.

So the shin guns are detacheable and fit the fists? Fortmax looks great! Looking forward to him (especially the Jose Delbo homage shot you did Ryan :x

Wow, Seibs once again makes a toy look really, really awesome! I need to look into the gallery after I'm done with work, but is there a makeshift "computer" mode for Cerebros? ;)

This looks great! I do have one question though.. what's up with everyone complaining about Galvatron? How does the Headmaster gimmick ruin it?

A few quick thoughts ...

I'm really bummed about the lack of a gun. It just cheapens the whole experience and kind of makes me feel taken advantage of because you know it was removed to save on costs. Instead of doing it right. In my ongoing battle against 3rd party unlicensed Transformers products, this just opens the door for someone to make a set of compatible guns for ol' Fort Max (though I've never had a problem with aftermarket accessories for Transformers, comparing it to the automotive market).

Fort Max, while he looks good in robot mode, ultimately just feels kind of half assed. The "leftovers" from Metroplex such as the legs splitting open and the right arm having the joint to move the whole arm in front of his body serve no purpose that I can tell. Don't get me wrong -- I really like Fort Max still, but he just seems less than Metroplex to me since Metroplex was so amazing and upscaled an awesome G1 toy by more than double.

Cerebros is the surprise piece from this set that I really liked. He finally has a proper toy that is worthy of the character. His original G1 version was kind of a short stumpy toy, but this one looks like he could lead the regular sized Headmasters. This version of him finally comes with a head that looks like he did in the comics and US cartoons. He's finally a proper action figure! He's even got a gun. I would have liked to see him have his traditional gun in addition to the "titan master" compatible gun, but considering that Fort Max didn't come with any guns I'll take what we got. Great update. Clobber looks awesome on him. Paint apps were a bit messed up on Cerebro's face but I'll take care of that later. I also like that Cerebros is big. Not quite a Voyager, but much larger than a deluxe.

Spike Emissary is also a nice update. I love that his head sculpt is the G1 cartoon and (more prominently) the Marvel Comics helmet. Nice touch!

I don't mind him being a "Headmaster", it's just that it was extremely poorly executed. Galvatron's "head" has been reduced to an ill-conceived "mask" that only covers up the front part of a Titan Master "head". Had it been done along the lines of the helmets for Leader Class Galvatron or Optimus, it might have been better executed, but as it is, it's just a mess. The biggest issue is that the Titan Master face sits way too far back from the "mask" which just alway makes it look extremely off. The head rotates at a different angle from the mask as well so the angle of his face looking "ok" is extremely limited. And then there's the massive gap on the sides of his face from the mask. Hopefully I'll have his photos done tomorrow so that I can show you exactly what I mean with high res close-ups.

Okay, time to go headhunting.

Basically he's the perfect nemesis for Cerebros.

Great pictures! I received mine two days ago and it looks awesome! I do not have Metroplex so cannot complain about retooling. The city mode is great although no one will display it. What are the major differences with the Takara one?

The Takara one has a different color scheme that is a lot more accurate to the original Fort Max toy and his cartoon colors. It also features a different headsculpt for Cerebros, one that is based on the head design he had in The Headmasters cartoon, which itself was based on more the original toy's head. And most of all, the Takara one might come with Fort Max's massive Master Sword that is iconic to Fort Max's Japanese appearance.
