Odd ideas of scale?

I like to scale my toys by the vehicle mode with a few exceptions. Currently, my go-to optimus prime is classics prime, and i think he's in good scale with masterpiece starscream. I also have a strict policy of only buying decepticons of voyager and above except for cw stunticons.

Well, since I'm currently collecting the Combiner Wars bots, I try to watch scale a bit when deciding to buy additional bots, such as CW non combiners, or TR bots. I think the titan masters are perfect.

I try my best at keeping things in alt mode scale. Was fairly do-able with Movie toys, given the multiple size classes and attempt by the film crew to keep things (mostly) accurate:

Obviously, Starscream's an exception...

Mind you I don't keep literally everything at that one scale, but I generally make sure every new purchase fits with something I already have.

Honestly when I started collecting TF's the scaling thing was one of my pet peeves of sorts with not everything scaling to each other. It was only recently I started to relent and back off on that dramatically. Point of fact: I bought two different Bayverse Starscream's (ROTF Voyager and DOTM Deluxe) to properly scale with my other Bayverse Decepticons and specifically between leader and voyager Megatrons. I personally feel the Deluxe one scales better with everything and my Voyager Megatron's and The Fallen (especially). Voyager Starscream is used when I am doing stuff without The Fallen or Devastator actually. I also feel Deluxe RotF Soundwave should've been a size class higher.

Outside of Bayverse this is where scale became somewhat minor. Though I would love for nice a Gen 1 Optimus Prime leader-class without the Titan Master deal to stand toe-to-toe with CW Leader (G1) Megatron. That and a nice version of G1 Shockwave in that size class too because Shockwave needs love.

Megatron, Optimus, those kind of leader guys are Voyager. Deluxes are most of the others. Minibots are scout/legends. Leader are reserved for the bigger bots, like Magnus and Jetfire. And PMOP because he's a big serious upgrade.

That's how I scale my classics collection. But to be honest, scale isn't a big factor for me. It's more what feels right for the character's robot mode.

Yeah, after a while I just gave up the scale issue and instead now I just focus on one good representation of the figure.

For example I really like CW leader Megatron, however I passed on the leader class CW seekers and opted to just stick with the classics / generations deluxe class seekers as I feel they represent the figure better (for me anyways). Although I admit it was hard passing them up everytime I saw them.

The TR Powermaster Optimus Prime really doesn't require for you to remove the head to transform it. Since I use the Grimlock Titan Master for red eyes on him I just fold the head in and Hi-Q or Ginrai or whatever they're calling him can still sit inside.

I am like that 100%.

For instance I think this is not bad for a representation of the new Season 3 bots

However, for the members of the Lost Light, something is amiss. I think Voyager cyclonus would be better, no?
And which Rodimus is better?

I'm with you WJ and Insurgent. I'm not quite as concerned about scale but rather how well the figure represents the character. That's why I mix generations AND masterpiece.

I'm mostly unconcered with scale these days considering my collection purely consists of three combiners which are all in scale with each other, some random bots and cons I like which are generally alright together, and Lost Light dudes which, so far, have all generally been in scale with each other - especially with that Voyager Megatron coming out. So I'm pretty happy so far.

Scale is a bit of a lost cause really especially for vehicle modes - Takara Designers & The Japanese fans get quite annoyed by the idea of Deluxe Jets though so I hear.

But no - I don't even attempt to worry about it - I just have Legion scale for use with bases and "Everything else" - except for things like the odd Giant Bumblebee or Optimus which is classed as a novelty item really.

I only care about scale in robot mode. Alt modes were always off (megatron is the best example. Soundwave too) so as long as the robots scale well, I'm good.

Combiner Wars is great, the voyagers are bigger than the limbs, and they are fitting characters. The Titans Return line fits in well. I love how Ultra Magnus is bigger than O/P in robot mode. Truck mode is off in comparison to O/P, but hey, that's just the way it is.

I won't buy Leader class seekers though. Way too big. My deluxe ghost starscream and the other seeker from Grand Galvatron are just fine. And will fit in with the aerialbots should I ever find them.

Ah okay! thanks for suggesting that. I was wondering about it myself. It is like that I bet due to it being a retool of CW Ultra Magnus.
