NYCC 2016 Hasbro Transformers Panel Report: The Last Knight Helmet, Titans Return Trypticon

Even across countries and timezones, the Hasbro Transformers panel is still a thing that we can attend, thanks to the livestream from New York Comic Con 2016 - and here is a summary of what went down during the robotic half hour in NYC!

- Showing off the Transformers: The Last Knight Optimus Prime voice changing helmet just revealed by Hollywood Reporter, with some of the voice clips, and some talk about Optimus in general.

- Talked about the process from movie to toy, what appeals to newer generations (with mentions to the 1986 animated movie, and the new Shout! Factory remastering).

- Dipping into the Machinima Combiner Wars animated series to segway into Prime Wars trilogy as a toy-first element (pretty much) Combiner Wars, Titans Return. Driving into Deluxe Twinferno, Perceptor (who is a working microscope!) - and finally, Sixshot.

- Sixshot: compared with G1 version, showing off the poseability, Phase Sixers name-dropped, Black Shadow brought out for comparison too. Shown how it splits in half for tank + jet sections, and Titan Master.

- Trypticon revealed! Well, his leg anyway (with ratcheted ankle tilts). Release is Fall 2017.

- More movies coming as we know.

I wish the foot had a bit more claw, but it's really nice and detailed.

Well, it is just a prototype, so there could be a little more that is to be added? If not, still looks nifty.

I guess it can be said that Trypticon isn't ready to stand up to scrutiny...!

This is why I don't have friends and am single.

One thing I've noted about prototype images, they often wind up being very representative of the final product. Regardless, whether he's got toe claws or not - I gots to have mah Trypticonz......

Looking at the side-by-side comparison between G1 Sixshot and TR Sixshot, I think I'll wait and see what Takara does for their version. I really liked the version of Sixshot from The headmasters cartoon and this new TR version has some things about it that, not necessarily in a cartoon-accuracy sense but in a general sense, look a little off to me.

please Please PLEASE show some last knight stuff. (not voice changing helmets, actual figures) And PLEASE let them be regular figures, not one step or flip-n-change crap. Hopefully this movie's line will be better than AOE's, because AOE's were mostly shellformers, and the new one step stuff. Hope they go back to the actually creative and innovative designs of the first three films.

I notice in the last photo that they added the little connect-a-ramp to the leg so it can interconnect with other Leader class Titans Return basebots.

If you think Six Shot looks funny imagine what the Quickswitch version is going to look like.

Though why they'd want to make Quickswitch out of that Mould without HUGE changes I have no idea.

I like his Beast mode - It would be interesting to stitch Hexatron into the comparisons too.

Broadside's jet mode does look kinda hokey, but I'm still just happy they're doing him at all. He always seemed like one that was going to fall through the cracks.

NYCC 2016 Hasbro's Twitch Livestream Recording Now Available

After seeing some stills from the Hasbro Twitch presentation, we are now able to bring you a video of the full event! Seibertron.com was able to get up to the second row from the designers themselves as they spoke about Transformers and what is to be coming soon. Unfortunately the room was loud and the microphones were not working fully, so the audio might be a bit tricky to hear, but you should be able to get all the important stuff you need from the video. Check it out below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

What surprised me most was that they knew Hasbro Asia was rereleasing MP Soundwave. The US Brand team is usually not super aware of the activities of the subgroup but it seems thats not the case here. With Montano saying "we" it seems the MP Soudwave reissue is seen as a corporate wide reissue, meaning that this is Hasbro corporates strategy to let fans have another chance to get the mold and it wouldnt be rereleased in northamerica instead.

I'm unimpressed.

Based on this reveal, I'd say that this Trypticon figure doesn't have a leg to stand on.

(I am of course kidding, it looks amazing so far.)
