It was in my initial post. You missed it being angry over a sentence that really didn't matter. I never meant any offense, but clearly you were. I was on-topic and all of that, so I don't know what got you all wound up about it. But, peace, you know, sorry you took this so hard, and thanks again to everyone for the cap info. You may have just helped make a sale.

My understanding could be wrong though. I remember from previous discussions though there was talk that they HAD to be glued in, things may have changed though.

To me though, if it's a requirement for legal reasons, then I can't imagine removing it would be an easy thing.

Yes, it is supposed to be glued in, but there are no requirements for the glue used. Hence, some pop rigjt off, some are permanently bonded. Luck of the draw, really.

Last time some people had to use some remover to remove the glue and it damaged the plastic.

Which company used super glue? I hope they use Elmers Glue instead. Water soluble. If it was hlj why not email them this suggestion? If it's local/domestic importers, then by all means, email them now.

It was a mix, some people were getting Megs with dried glue down the barrel

That being the case, whoever your supplier mau be, email them now as I am assuming they haven't yet started the gluing on process.

If they continue the tradition that they started with the first MP Megatron then it will be extremely easy to remove the yellow cap - it was an unglued rubber plug.

If HLJ glues the plugs this time around, I wouldn't mind since I picked up a neat trick that not a lot of collectors know about when it comes to glue - I guess not a lot of toy collectors are miniature collectors and vice versa. Anyway, if you live in the US, buy a product call Simple Green. It is used by hobbyist to remove glue from metal miniatures. It works well on metal and I have heard it works the same with plastic (although I have not use it to remove glue from plastic as I use cement glue for plastic, I have used the product to remove paint from the mini). Just wish that the retailer using glue doesn't use cement glue as that would destroy the plastic - unlike supergirl, hobby cement bones to plastic together.

They have a similar product in Europe, but I don't remember the brand.

Going by the previous MP Megatron, BBTS glued the cap on while HLJ didn't. Also, HLJ secretly sold Exhaust (I think by e-mail) while TFsource modified the front of Exhaust with paint that isn't removeable. As such, I think HLJ will do something similar in giving collectors an easy way to remove the cap whereas I have a feeling the other American retailers will use glue.

This is my message from HLJ about the plug after asking for further details.

"Thanks for writing. The plug will be glued.

In order to maintain your item's compliance with your country's laws, we recommend that you do not remove the plastic plug after you have received the item.

We appreciate your understanding, and your business with us.

Via the Facebook page for Planet Iacon, we have a look at the collector coin to be included with non-Japanese releases of the Takara Tomy Transformers Masterpiece MP-36 Megatron figure. The casing is molded like the character's chest, and the coin has the Decepticon leader's motto: Peace Through Tyranny - check it out below!

A-E just emailed me with regards to the plug:

"It will be up to the customer. We can offer this service for free, but we will have to open the product (the plug will not be glued). However, we believe there should be no problem shipping it untouched.

Best regards"

Yikes! I'd be VERY careful about that if I were you, I'm pretty sure the barrel is painted and this will remove paint as you know. Plus you don't want to take a chance in getting the metal parts wet as they'll rust.

In my experience the glue is applied to just the inside of the barrel so breaking the cap free shouldn't effect the appearance of the barrel unless you look inside.

And as a quick aside: Nothing pisses off some news writers more than the question of if something was written as the result of a "slow news day", even if they weren't the one doing the writing.

I live in WA
I am lucky to have a MP5 and G1 Movie Issue (Grey not Silver) that came with Dark of the Moon Megatron.
Both sold at the same store, no problems with Custom.
I did get a Original G1 Megatron. It came through Customs.
First off I didn't know about the Licensing Issue. They were going to destroy it unless I got the proper paper work.
But then they decided that it was a Toy and not a Replica.
I am sure that if you look around at small shops, you can find toy guns that could be mistaken for the real thing.
Hell, I even have a torch/lighter made from metal that is in the shape of a gun, small of course. Sold at my local Petrol Station.
If the the Government is targeting Megs for looking like a real gun, then accuse them of being Bias towards this toy.

FYI, Australian collectors going through HLJ may have ... wait for it ... dodged a bullet (HA!) as it's been reported on the TCCA Facebook group that HLJ have reversed their decision on adding a plug for Australian customers.

Megatron who?

Short version:

G1 Megs (quantum surge G1 Megs) > G1 Galvatron (purple guy) > Super > Ultra Megs > Action Master Megs > G2 Megs (purple and green) > He gets defeated by Laser Prime and is banished.

So where does the G1 Megatron body who gets his azz wiped by Galvatron II fit in? Same with Legends Megatron who seems to be the same Megs. Could he be before or after that incident with the Danny Elderoids?
