I may have put every single one of his faces on yesterday -- beat-up face may be my personal fave. :)

Its my fave as well. And not really because of the texture, I just like his mouth on it. Its not an extream like the others and it isnt closed either. It has the mot personality.

Agreed, Will -- and hearing that you've transformed him several times is definitely encouraging. I plan to do so soon....;)

I have to ask, but is there some kind of trick involved with making the legs thinning down to form the handle of the gun and returning the handle of the gun to form the legs?

My fingers always feel raw after it and the tolerances are a bit tight for me. I'm just trying to see if there is a shortcut, but honestly I love transforming this thing. At least more so than I did RotF Leader Optimus Prime where my fingers were also raw after.

Nevermind, I found the trick. Fingers aren't as raw when doing it, but they still are a little sore. I was thinking the tolerances were extremely faulty so I wasn't exerting as much force as I should have. I just needed to put more elbow grease a bit behind it when pushing down on one and then up on the other. Transforms like a dream now! :CON:

I'm actually enjoying this Megatron. For not being a fan of Megatron. A little complex but fits right in and makes great battle scenes.

Now we seemingly have the definitive Gun Bot mold and as HasTak do love their redeco/retools, Any word on whether MP-36 is going to be re-appropriated into Browning?

That would be very difficult, really only the legs could maybe be used, but the top half is a completely different (and super simple) transformation. At that point they'd be better off just making an entirely new figure.

I see. So another Cheetor/Tigatron situation?

Not really since those two at least shared a toy mold and some parts on the cartoon.

I suppose so. I mean I can see some Megatron in Browning (Chest shape, Trigger "crotch" and the legs. Like these are standard design aspects of a Gun Bot. Of course the arms are completely different. I would think they could at least attempt a redeco along the lines of the "White Prime" Ultra Magnus MP-02.

His legs are actually very unique compared to Megatron and Shockwave (and Kiloton) since in bot mode they're backwards from his gun mode and inside out. Can't remember if the cartoon transformation is the same, but probably would be for the masterpiece just so they can do both a cartoon version and a G1 toy style version since they're so different from each other.

 Wow, never even heard of Kiloton before? Also, with that likeness, there is no way in The Pit that toy will ever see the light of day again.

Gun bots interest me though, especially as there are so few of them. I mean up until the last few years I thought Megs and Shockwave were the only two Gun Bots in all the fiction.

I do really like the Cast-Mold aspect of Transformer lore. The uniform idea of subgroups. Also those that look similar ala Browning and Megs, but a different process is needed to get them there.

But Megatron shrinks in his gun mode.

And Galvatron had a gun mode too.

As does Sixshot

The difference is I am talking Gun Bots, not Gun Modes. Blitzwing is also a Fighter Jet, it doesn't make him a Seeker.

Galvatron is primarily a Cannon and Sixshot is a Multiformer (now with "Submarine" Mode, apparently?).

Megatron and Shockwave both utilize Mass Displacement in their altmodes (less so with Shockwave) but their default form is Cybertronian in size. The Targetmasters do not exceed their base size. In essence Mini-Cons, before they were a Thing.

And now you see why writing top 5/10 lists can be so hard. So many precisions must be made to avoid nitpicking.

I don't doubt that. Merely browse any "Top _" video on YouTube and you have several various forms of dissent and complaint. But I do differentiate between the Cast Molds of Transformer subsets.

Probably the nerdiest thing I will ever say :P

Likewise, when IDWverse Cyclonus said to Scourge that they were Seekers. I knew what they meant but, to me, the descriptive was wrong.

I once put Prime Skyquake and Dreadwing on a top 5 seeker toy list. And for a whole page people debated if they truly were seekers and it took a scan of the cyberverse toy bi to calm people down

 I can imagine. It's one of those things, to some "Seeker" is a catchall title for Fliers. Whereas by tech spec definition it's the body type of a Flier subset.

Honestly, the term "Seeker" best applies to a Decepticon subgroup rather than a Decepticon body-type (the Wiki really oughta have its Seeker page renamed for that reason, but I digress), as not all fighter jet Decepticons in G1 are Seekers (like Talon, for instance), while not all Seekers in the Binderverse share the same body-type.

I mean, this guy right here, Contrail, was the Seeker representative on the High Council in the Binderverse's pre-war (and pre-faction) days, yet he looks nothing like the body-types of Starscream (in any of his body-types), Slipstream, Skyquake/Dreadwing, the WFC Seeker generics, Jetfire, or the Jet Vehicon Generals.

Probably the biggest selling point of a MP Browning is that he'd be 1:1 human scale in both modes. That's the type of thing I would find hard to resist being so unusual in the Transformers universe.

There's an idea of a top 5, tiny Transformers characters (not toys specifically) that don't mass shift like Browning or movie Wheelie (RC truck) and Scalpel (microscope).
