Occasionally we stumble across a Transformers toy that ticks all the right boxes, strikes a chord, presses the right buttons etc, and yet leaves a majority of others cold. There are plenty of unpopular figures in the Transformers toy universe, both official and otherwise. Some figures, however, were supposed to be game changers and all time greats that for some reason don’t fulfil their promise in the eyes of the majority. Even if the criticism is justified and I understand the hatred for certain Transformers toys, on a handful of occasions I have not had my own appreciation or enjoyment of them dampened. In each case, however, there have been mitigating circumstances.

Like Beast Wars Fuzors or the Beast Wars Mutants or the Beast Machines Deployers possibly ?

I like some obscure stuff - but it's so obscure I don't think people often express an opinion on things like Trakkons or Sky Scorchers.

I do kinda like Meanstreak and Deftwing too - I doubt they get a lot of love.

Nice article, Maz. I hear you on the general concensus being, "Boo! Hiss!" but loving the object of scorn. Energon Ironhide, a lot of people hate. But for me, aside from his visible head in vehicle mode, I love the guy.

And I love Azalea, too. That mold's my Classics Elita One!

I've got a small share of figures myself. Victorion's the big one; I'd heard the complaints and at least mild "eh, it's okay at best" opinions of her, but once I finally got her in hand I fell in love. Easily one of my most satisfying TF purchases despite the few flaws I find with her. I'm just in love.

MP Road Rage might also fall under this banner since I've seen some dislike for the mold. She's my only MP so maybe I'm not getting the full picture but I really love her.

One figure that I know is widely disliked but I still actually really like is Generations Windblade. I got her way after the initial release and for only $10. Yeah the heels could be better (and they are if you take them out and turn them around) but besides that I have a hard time disliking her. I don't even have any attachment to the character.

All of the Beast Machines line. I love it! Most hate it.

Energon Slugslinger. Heard lots of disparagement towards this guy, but I love it. And contrary to what certain wikis might say, if you do it right, you can get it to peg together pretty well. Also, I love that asymmetrical face.
