The stickers were kind of a pain but I think my biggest issue was peeling them away from the sticker sheet. Otherwise, I think it was kind of cool to have to put them on yourself. The eyes were the hardest ones to apply but the rest were not too bad. Sadly, I had a hard time following just the instructions so I really had to look online to find out exactly where they all went. They really need to start making color instruction sheets as these darker color backgrounds do not make the small details easy to see.

So, uh...cracked open my copy, and he's missing a ramp. Who do I contact about this?

Try the store where you got it. You can try Hasbro but there's no guarantee they'll replace it.

They're good about fixing things.

Look on their website, they have contact info (look at the bottom, it should be there). Just send them the same image you posted and tell them exatly what you are missing. They will tell you what they can do.

Also, I know there's a preemptive repair for the hips. But is there a fix if they're already broken?

If I may, being the self-proclaimed resident TrypHipSitch expert. If they're broken the way that early copies were (like the plastic in the ratchets wrecks itself), then the ratchets are pretty much irretrievable - but you can always take the ratchets out, beef up the friction inside the swivels with some paper, cardboard, electrical tape or what-have-you, and just get by with some really sturdy friction-based hips for your Trypticon I suppose.

If they're not already borked though (and they shouldn't be straight out of the box), I'd highly recommend doing one of the pre-existing fixes, just in case. That one where you compress the springs over and over for like ten minutes is apparently really effective!

I did perform the spring fix (even on the leg that wasn't messed up). However, my dad broke the hip by accident before we did that, and now the cross-thing inside the hip is sheared. But, like with the missing ramp, I'm making negotiations with BBTS to see if I can get a new hip piece or an entire right leg. Fingers crossed... :BANG_HEAD:

If I remember correctly, that missing ramp should've been pinned in place and not just friction-clipped, no? In that case, I'm guessing they'll probably need to replace the figure in its entirety, at which point it likely won't matter if the hips are broken. Admittedly once we get to dealing with companies and people, I'm way less confident than dealing with plastic toys, but that's my best guess about how things'll go from here for you.

 ... *frantically gets up to check* ...okay, phew. The ramps are on double hinges. One end of that hinge is a pin, the other end is friction. So, thankfully, once the replacement arrives it should clip right in. I just hope this all goes smoothly...

Heh, guess I should've just walked the 50 metres to check my own copy instead of assuming based on my own shoddy memory. Today's lesson: check your toys before you make statements about them, and don't trust Qwan

You really had me going for a minute there!

If worse comes to worse, I might just go get a Takara copy and dump my current one on eBay or something. I'd feel bad about doing that though...

Aww yeah, Trypticon!!

Just joining the party here for this guy thanks to Ollie’s. He’s pretty dang awesome!! I think I have the same issue that Burn stated many pages ago, the front of the spaceship mode droops a little when you pick it up to fly it around. And if you aren’t picking him up in spaceship mode and flying him around, you’re doing it wrong.

My hips seem ok, I checked my batch number against the list that Max over at TFW2005 posted (I copy and pasted that into the Trypticon Ollie’s thread) which basically stated I may or may not have issues ever. Looking forward to tightening that chest flap in dino mode that Seibertron mentioned as well.

Labels today hopefully, but dang that Repro set would be awesome!!!

I picked up the Repros not too long ago, myself! They're definitely really nice, and elevate the figure another level beyond what it already is. But that's not to say the stock stickers are bad, either - just make sure you're careful while putting them on since they can be pretty delicate. (I think I tore the long caution-strip ones that go inside his chest door, on both of my copies!)

Got my second Trypticon at Ollie’s today. Batch number (71871, I believe) is one of the “good ones”. Tempted to open it and make sure, but don’t want to make it harder to customize/lower the future value. Not entirely sure why I pulled the trigger on a second one.

I've read a lot about the reprolabels for Trypticon. I got the Generations (possibly Takara) version, which seems to have a smaller set of stickers, when viewed online, to later versions? My question is when in City Mode, the base that holds Full Tilt, stands upright alongside the turrets. On that purple base and only viewable in City Mode, there is a large empty central space for a Decepticon symbol... That wasn't part of the sticker sheet. Was this included in later versions and/or the reprolabels?

My Trypticon has a busted leg, unfortunately. I got him pretty early on too. I'm tempted to pick up a replacement, but there are no Ollie's in Minnesota or the surrounding area. :(

I went into my storage to check the box. "LG-43 Trypticon" and "Takara Tomy" are the only things written in English, everything else is Japanese. So I have 'Legends' and not 'Generations'. Is there any real difference between the re-releases, other than less stickers, apparently?

The Hasbro and Takara releases of Trypticon were identical. This was the first instance of the two companies "unifying the Transformers brand worldwide" before they made this initiative publicly known with the release of the Power of the Primes line and the Studio Series line. The Legends release should have exactly the same stickers as the Titans Return release. It's possible Hasbro and Takara had different sticker sheet layouts, with one being more economical with space than the other, creating the illusion of fewer stickers.

I see. So none of the releases have the sticker that definitely should be there?

Image

Right in the centre there. They made a space specifically for it, I say this as there are smaller spaces elsewhere that fit the exact shape of a Faction symbol sticker. So bizarre, I guess I'll have to try reprolabels.
