What makes you think TT will do any different? Assuming you are referring to the hips, nothing else was changed on the toy, so it is highly unlikely they will spend a significant amount of extra money to redesign the hips.

To expand on the ireland news.

he's available in a varity of smyths around the country. as i type if your in dublin he's in swords and blanchardstown but theres only ONE in stock at each.

the roll out date is 1st of july to the 10th so he should be country wide here by monday.

tis indeed 179.99 euros.

pretty epic video on their site too

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l40pzz9owwI

im kinda gobsmacked TBH. Smyths, hell NO ONE, Has ever sold such an expensive TF toy at retail here that i can recall. we never got metroplex/ fort max/ devestator on their release. the only combiner wars box set we got was computron FFS !

im delighted but kinda baffled. with our luck the fecking hips thing could sour them on doing it again if its a wide scale complaint.

TakaraTomy's Dinosaurer's release date is really close to Hasbro's Trypticon's, hardly leaving any development time for retools and fixes.

Really? If so, that sucks. :???: Those sheets should come in a little plastic baggie which sits free-floating in the box, behind the cardboard shell that Trypticon's attached to. It might be possible that you missed them, but if they're really not there I don't know what to say. :(

Nope, not there. I checked many times, just in case I had missed. Seeing as each end of the box is only secured by one central piece of tape it is possible they slipped out. I have contacted Kapow Toys to see if they found a set loose after they dispatched. Long shot but you never know.

hmmm... :-? ....not sure :???: coz we know that Kapow release dates(if ordered through them?) can sometimes be rather vague & hit & miss!(so..for instance...when they say an August release...for the TT....it doesn't say WHEN in August? or if it even ends up coming out in August at all? coz i ordered a 3p fig....Lord Scorpion...from them a while back! & the release/delivery date was supposed to be June....so June came....and went...& the fig didn't arrive til many months later! now YES!!! that's prob down to the company that made the fig rather than Kapow, but..who knows at this stage whether TT will still go ahead with the release of Trypticon at some point in August or may delay to try to sort or fix the leg joint issue?)

trypticons up on amazon.co.uk now for £149.99.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Transformers-Generations-Titans-Return-Trypticon/dp/B071LG12WX/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_img_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=1MYNNWRP3036AWBJARGW

temporarily out of stock at the mo but he's free delivery in the UK too so when he's back in its looking to be the cheapest deal for him yet.

even posting to ireland means after exchange rates he's only 63cents more expensive than smyths so if youve no luck getting him at retail here thats probably your best chance of getting the guy at an aproximate price point.

(obviously that exchange rate is dependant on STG/EURO conversion but since BREXIT importings got HELLA Cheap from the UK)

I should get mine tomorrow! Then I'll do a small trip to the hardware store looking for alternative springs.
I'll go for a pring of the same size, but weaker. I'll tell you if I'll find what I'm looking for

The hip QC issues may not be as widespread a previously believed, according to this guy:
I picked up Trypticon locally over the weekend because I have no patience or self-control. I dismantled the hips, inspected the whole lot, put them back together, and then stressed the crap out of them - spun them a few dozen full rotations each, back and forth a bunch, rotated from the body with the legs planted, anything I could think of - then took them apart again. Zero change. The green plastic is definitely softer than the rest, but it's still plenty sturdy. It might not be the sky is falling, every Trypticon will die issue that the guy reporting the fix thinks it is. In fact, is his the only report we've got? I know that a lot of people won't want to even risk breakage and will just clip the springs immediately, so reports will be skewed.

Watch out for the stickers, though. I'm about half way through and there's been several whose numbers may be transposed. Some are definitely the wrong way around, they're odd-shaped ones which only go in one way, and some are wrong according to the instructions and box pics, but might not actually be wrong, it's up to you to decide. It doesn't help that the sticker instructions are awful, possibly the worst I've seen. The stickers are also thin foil, and will basically fuse themselves to the first thing they touch, especially themselves.

It's one of the things I was asking myself about the number of defective Trypticon that we saw so far.
Considering how much a new pair of springs costs, thought, I prefer to avoid the risk for the moment.

If this is true, that'd be great for others who are on the fence after this apparent issue! Admittedly two reports wasn't much to go on in the first place, but better safe than sorry until we had some counter-reports I suppose.

Though I wonder if simply disassembling the hips alone might be the trick? I really wish I remembered which hip I disassembled before breakage, in comparison to the side that broke, so I could add evidence one way or the other; as it stands, we once again just have one or two accounts to work off of. I can only hope we'll get more (hopefully positive :D ) information once more people start getting him in hand - how are all you guys' Trypticons shipping along, by the way? - but for now I suppose it's another unsolved mystery for Mr. Stack to recount :P .

Very true about the stickers too (and their instructions, blech - there's at least one pair of stickers that the instructions clearly tell you to put on the wrong place, but I can't remember which ones they are at this exact moment). I've left the stickers off the eyes on my second copy, partly because I like the look of clear orange plastic as much as the glowy-orangey-gold that the stickers make them, and partly because it's nigh-impossible to get them lined up perfectly so they don't crinkle and end up looking sucky.

Trypticon is OUT!!!! Not only is he shipping from online retailers like BBTS (for those who preordered him), but he has appeared at US retail. The picture below comes from a sighting at a Think Geek store in Oklahoma. The price is the MSRP of $150 and it was found by TFW2005 board member Heat Guy.

The hunt is on and remember to let fans know where you find him in our sightings forum and sightings section.

LOLOLOL

We didn't really have any out of the box major issues with the other Titans did we? I mean yeah, Metro and Maxi have legs that collapse under their own weight sometimes but they didn't break.

Has anyone actually confirmed that the legs are breaking? All I've seen are videos with people concerned about them, but no actual breaking yet.

Wait, Trypticon is shipping for some people from BBTS? I thought I was one of the first to pre-order (I even got a News credit here for being the first to mention it). Do certain people get priority regardless of order time?

Qwan back in page 24 of this very thread posted some pics of the damage and explanation. He followed up with a fix tutorial in page 26.

I saw that, but has the damage been displayed on any other toys? One person's report doesn't mean it's an epidemic and you can't rule out improper handling until it's replicated via normal use.

Since its just now starting to get a full release, we may need to wait a bit before we get actual reports of it.

If it even is a QC issue affecting more than a few samples.

Nice. How do you find the hips? Do they carry all the flaws that have been profiled in other threads, or was that just a fluke?
