Courtesy of Twitter user Chromless, we start off with the legions before quickly moving over to the Deluxes and Voyagers - take a look at Bumblebee, Barricade, Berserker and more below and discuss what you think of Takara's colour schemes in the forums!

To everyone who said Takara would surely give us a waaaay better paint job on that Bee, well muahahahahahaha. When it comes to movie toys, Takara rarely improves on the straight up mainline versions of Hasbro releases. The only time their stuff is better is when they actually release a special edition that hasbro doesnt.

It really wouldnt surprise me. Their movie stuff is never that different from hasbro's hence why you dont hear about it as much as the differences on the LG line or TAV line. But hey, here's hoping I am wrong. I would have really liked to see that voyager Prime they have on display, that would really let us know whats going on.

To be fair, those are stickers.

Transformers The Last Knight Leader Megatron Optional Faceplate Feature and More Images

This weekend, Leader Megatron from Transformers The Last Knight Toyline was revealed both in the US at Toy Fair and in Japan at Wonderfest. What is interesting is that in the Takara display, he had a faceplate. This is also how Megatron is shown in package at the Hasbro event, meaning that both toys (which are maybe the same at this point) have that feature. We have inserted images of the Hasbro one below for you to spot if this is the same toy. Also, the in box image of Megatron does not have the same detailing found on the show floor, meaning that the one on the show floor is a painted prototype. The Takara one can then be our best look yet at the finished version of this leader toy. You can see him posed below with a closeup on his faceplate, as well as shots from his back which we haven't seen yet. Let us know what you think!

You know, that is pretty awesome that they are incorporating a Faceplate. And the kibble actually looks like it stows away pretty well!

I like it when wings integrate neatly into a robot mode or as in the case here fold up all tidy out of the way. I have a slight hatred of jet/spaceship TFs where the wings stick out all crazy in robot form. :P

This Megatron looks gorgeous. But I may have to go with the Voyager due to cost and size.

The cool thing is that we can still stick em out in robot mode here to have a flying robot mode ;)

I dont think there was a single AoE figure that got me excited at the 2014 toy fare. But that TLK Megs is really gorgeous. Now if HasTak makes a new Leader Optimus with better looking knightly proportions, I may even get that one.

But yeah, that Megs, he's nice.

Surprisingly, there arent a lot of jet only parts aside from the wings. Its mostly the robot tucked neatly. The jet wings are on his back and fold out and the hands make up the long front of the jet.

Wow! Even though the one they show in Wonderfest is a finished product, but good ol' Megatron still looks great! Even the wings can fold up & align with each other, which successfully makes them hidden (which 2007 Leader Class Megatron failed to do so, but I don't blame the designers as the wings are part of his Automorph Technology gimmick). =P~ However one thing about his faceplate: aren't the tusks on the sides of his head supposed to flip to the front to cover up the face?? :???: Well, even the faceplate on the toy is a separate piece, I still hope :HASBRO: managed to give the tusks some articulation to do so or the faceplate will be deemed incomplete...

Here's a comparison of his concept art & his toy form:

The Leader Megatron looks awesome from the FRONT, but loses a lot of mystique when you look at it from the back. I really hope it's not a 'flip it upside down and you're done'-former....

Release Date and Official Images for Takara The Last Knight Toyline TLK 01-08

We have some god news and bad news for the collectors who saw Hasbro's The Last Knight Premier toys and were waiting to see the Takara versions to see how they wold be improved. The good news is that Takara now has promotional images for the toys as well as a whole section fo their site now live to promote them. The bad news is that there is not much improvement, if any. Below you will see images of :

TLK 01 Bumblebee
TLK 02 Decepticon Beserker
TLK 03 Dinobot Slash
TLK 04 Grimlock
TLK 05 Speed Changes Bumblebee
TLK 06 Speed Changes Optimus Prime
TLK 07 Speed Changes Barricade
TLK 08 Speed Changes Hound

Also, we have images of their Premier Voyager Prime courtesy of the Japan Toysrus website. It appears to be a Toysrus Exclusive (like the White Voyager Prime from the last film). It too shows barely any improvement over the Hasbro version and is priced at ¥ 4,499 ($40 USD!). While this may confuse many, please remember that when it comes to mainline movie toys, the Takara version of Hasbro toys rarely offers much improvement. Any major improvement is usually done through a special distinctive subsequent release. This has been the case since 2007. This should also dispel any misconceptions that the price of Takara products is related to their deco. Unlike Age of Extinction, the Takara movie line for The Last Knight will have all toys under the same TLK banner, mixing in simpler and more complex toys. The date given for TLK 01-08 is an end of April release.

Transformers The Last Knight Hound, Barricade, Bumblebee, Optimus Prime Packaging Art Revealed

PostPosted: Mon Feb 20, 2017 1:38 pm
by D-Maximal_Primal
The new Takara website section that is promoting The Last Knight toys has updated with some new images of packaging art for Hound, Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, and Barricade! These new images show the character's new looks, with Bee getting an updated alt mode and reverting back to a more Dark of the Moon styled body, while Barricade takes up his new look as the bad boy Decepticon cop that looks a little more human than his previous appearance. Looking close, it is also interesting to note that Barricade has replaced his "To Punish and Enslave" with "To Protect and Serve" in his robot mode as well, and we get a good close-up of his new brass knuckles.

Check out the packaging art below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

Still amusing that Bumblebee turned into a stinger knock-off then changed back to his normal look.

To sell toys. I liked the ninja look, but the door wings suit him so much more
