Am I the only one who wishes that they had made Barricade as a new character? He only superficially resembles his previous robot mode. Even when Optimus changed bodies between DOTM and AOE, he was still instantly recognizable in robot mode.

Still feels like Barricade is switching sides. The knuckles were one thing, but now he's PLASTERED with "protect and serve". It'll be strange if he stays a Decepticon looking like that.

Glad to see Bee's design getting closer to the original, I wasn't crazy about the AOE look. Too bad Optimus hasn't done the same.

Based on the fact that Bee blasts him in the trailer, I think he's still bad.

But maybe he had to attempt to blend in better, and "to punish and enslave" was a bit too obvious.

Or maybe he's "protecting and serving" Megatron. remember: "keep calm and all hail Megatron" ;)

I always wonder how Hasbro got away with those pentagrams on Bumblebee. I know they are stars but I remember people always accusing cartoons of having pentagrams or other symbols in them for no reason other than to stir the pot.

The fact that Barricade during filming has been chasing Bee and otherwise been seen only with Cons during non action scenes in the filming proves he is just as bad as he once was.

He still has "Punished and Enslaved" on vehicle mode although in some point during filming the motto was changed to "Keep calm and hail Megatron" which probably happens later in the film also his elbows have "Punish and Enslave" on them as well

The only reason he has Protect and Serve on his knuckles is so it can be ironic that he is beating up Autobots with the words Protect and Serve and ever since 2007 Barricade's whole Police thing is supposed to be ironic since Barricade is an evil and vile Decepticon who enjoys hurting others.

we were also referring to the packaging art, which has "to protect and serve" on it several times, both in knuckles and in alt mode kibble

Yes but I was talking about the knuckle dusters although I did not notice the protect and serve stuff being on his armor on first viewing I see it now though during the filming the only logos on him that we were able to see on him were "Punish and Enslave" and the "Keep calm and hail Megatron" motto that was spotted later in filming.

So if Barricade make a heel face turn it wont be till the end of the movie but I doubt he will since this is just package art, Cade has his con logos anyways and I can and will point out that the Optimus in the packaging art is inaccurate to how he appears in the trailers for this film and the end of AOE Optimus is missing the Knight upgrades that he gets from pulling the sword in AOE for example his knight gauntlet arms are gone in this promotional image yet he has them in the TLK trailers.

Isn't everything new about the movies the "greatest" thing you've ever seen Sly?

So there's the new Bumblebee mold, and then there's the repaint of AoE 'Bee. What's up with that? The new mold looks great, but the repaint feels unnecessary.

Always and forever. Especially when I can't stop staring at them for hours.

It's the classic "Sell as many Bee's as we can" marketing strategy.

Only realistic reason I can think of.

Well, having an old and a newer Bumblebee in any line is Hasbro's strategy, and TakaraTomy is just following its lead.

Guess so. Aoe's two deluxe Bees were different molds that served different purposes, at least. I would've preferred something like that in this case.

Damn those are nice pics. May use them as reference when painting extra details on the toys.

I wasn't really sold on Barricade's new look at first (solid design but I missed old Barry) but I've warmed to it now.

I loved AoE Bee's design and was disappointed he's reverted back to his old form though updated, but I'm with that now too.

I'm glad Prime's still in AoE Knight design. I loved his look from the first three films but we've had enough toys of that now, and it's hard to top the RotF Leader mold or Battle Blade and Evasion molds of that robot mode. I'm keen on getting this new TLK Voyager figure.

It seems like the 'perpetually offended' and 'moms with nothing better to do' crowds pay more attention to video/tabletop games and books to make up things to freak out over. Or maybe they're scared of messing with Michael Bay.

Possible Takara Tomy AD 31 Optimus Prime

TFW2005 user catz has shared an order form which claims that a new item will be similar to AD 31. AD 31 is Takara's retool of the AOE Leader Optimus. We already know hat Hasbro is re-releasing AOE Leader Optimus Prime in the TLK movie line. We can guess that Takara would be doing the same with their toyline. Stay tuned!

AD31 sure was purdy. Any chance to see him again would be nice.

Pretty unusual for Takara Tomy release the same exact figure under two different toy lines or with two different product numbers. If it's exactly the same figure they'd probably just reissue the original AD31 straight up. I'm guessing this one will be painted differently, probably based on the purple-eyed version from the movie.

I too think it will be a redeco of that mold.

Tenemos Sword Promotion for Takara's The Last Knight TLK Toyline Release Event

Takara's TLK Transformers the Last Knight toys will be released on April 29th in Japan. To make this extra special, there will be a promotion at Toysrus with a gift for the first 6000 customers to spend more than 2000 Yen at a Japanese ToysRUs. Those people will get the Temenos Sword, which is a highly detailed version of Leader Optimus Prime's sword. There was a similar promotion for the previous movie toyline with the same sword. We know this from a tweet from @07groundprime which has images from a Japan Toysrus flyer.

Pretty pathetic when 5 of the 9 figures on a promo for a new toy line are repaints.

And they even happen to be the same as the hasbro releases, giving even less variety to this line.
