It's true, I double hinge all of the combiners elbows unless the molding won't allow (Strafe :-x).

This is definitely not news, but I thought I'd post this here anyway. Thew has put up a review of Power of the Primes Punch/Counterpunch today, and it's exactly the kind of Thew review you'd expect!

Jazz is absolute rubbish, ech, mine feels like a Knock off. Now visually he looks okay, that's not the problem, the problem is the plastic feels utterly flimsy, weak and brittle. Nothing tabs in properly. Good thing I only got him because he was on sale for utterly cheap. :-x

My Jazz didn't even come with instructions in its packaging.

Again, to reiterate: he doesn't look bad, I actually quite like him as some new CW-style car mold with a hood chest. That's neat. But quality-wise this is the most rubbish thing I've ever added to my colletion and is a floppy mess that just doesn't want to stay together.

And to top it off he's not the 'hilarious variant' which would have been one thing to make him funny, at least to me. #-o

You might have ended up with a lemon, unfortunately. I've handled several PotP Jazz figures over the last year, and most of them hold together well. The clear plastic areas may feel flimsy and potentially brittle, but I've had no breakage issues yet, and most samples tab together as intended. The only big issue I have with one of my copies is that the combiner feet don't seem to like to stick in solidly in the hole at the back at the car. The other copy I have right now does the job just fine (and is the one I, not coincidentally, use in combined form mostly).

As usual YMMV with QC and expectations. I have the non-maga variant and it seems fine and on par with rest of the PotP figures. I find it to be a really cool mold with a lot going on for it. My copy tabs together fine in both modes and holds all poses well. I do wish I would had waited for Ricochet though, as RTS Jazz (to me) is considerably better, but that's a damn high benchmark to overcome.

It could just be that I got terrible unlucky with mine, QC-wise.

I don't do it with all of mine. Depending on which figures I use as arms. As I look at my combiners on the shelf, I notice that those who have cars for arms are locked together, thus have shorter arms. Bruticus, on the other hand, with Blast Off and Vortex as arms, have the joints. Moonracer and Firestar are also arms on Betatron, and have joints. ;)^

PoTP Grimlock is a horrible torso. I will be combining the Dinobots with Sky Lynx as soon as he arrives.

I like my Jazz figure. So much so that I'm looking forward to getting Ricochet.

Recently, I've been giving some re-thinking to my plans for what I want to do with both Elita Infin1te and Inferno's combiner.

My most recent plans for the two were to give Elita limbs from Moonracer, Novastar, Siege Greenlight, and hope that Habro may come through with one more fembot limb (Lancer, perhaps). While Inferno would get a full set of four limbs via Jazz, Wreck-Gar, Ricochet, and Red Swoop.

However, looking at Elita's box art again got me thinking. If I were wanting to try and adhere as close as possible to the official configuration for her seen in said art, then I would use Jazz and Ricochet as her legs, and Moonracer as her left arm. For her right arm, the obvious choice would be to use Novastar, but since the right arm is completely cut off from view in the art, that gives enough ambiguity for her right arm to be officially ambiguous, which would allow me to use Greenlight for the right arm without issue.

Now, why the use of Greenlight instead of Novastar for Elita? Well, because of Novastar's relationship with Inferno. She could theoretically form his right arm, with her already having been his right hand bot. Sure, I could instead just give Greenlight to Inferno and Novastar to Elita, but Novastar at least has some personal connection to Inferno, arguable making her, more than any of Inferno's other potential limb choices, more sensible a choice to be a part of his combiner form.

Yes, you should put Inferno with Novastar. Not only due to their connection in fiction, but their colors also match. Currently, my Inferno has Jazz and Prowl for legs, and Wheeljack and Sunstreaker as arms. Legends Wreck-Gar is on the way to be the chest piece, and will be renamed Stampede, for purposes of the Magnificent Six, as well as due to deluxe Wreck-Gar being in existence. I don't have Elita, because I'm not fond of the mold too much. I have Starscream and I'm not impressed.

So, what does the packaging art depict as the limbs that Inferno is "supposed" to use?

I recently got a Lemon if you can call it that. I recently got Nemesis Prime and Nemesis Pax had 2 left legs. :BANG_HEAD:

So I decided rather than hassle myself and return it I've decided to keep him as Nemesis Prime and removing Pax's legs and get another.

It looks slightly better without those legs hanging off NP's back. :VEHI:

Limbs that were previously assigned to other combiners: Sludge and Slug (who belong to Volcanicus) as the legs, and Jazz (whom Elita already took possession of in her artwork) as the left arm (the right arm is cut off from view).

So, since Inferno's art only shows limbs that belong to other combiners, he'd just get the leftovers of Wreck-Gar (who does have Inferno combiner art on his packaging), Red Swoop, and Novastar.

Similarly, Starscream's combiner art features Dreadwind and Blackwing as his limbs, while his legs are those who belong to Abominus (Blot and Sinnertwin), so for him I'd keep Blackwing and Dreadwind there, while the remaining two limbs will be one of the Hasbro CW Blast Offs and Takara's Golden Lagoon Starscream (repurposed as Sunstorm).

Honest opinion, the mold is much better on as Elita 1. I really don't like the Starscream figure, but she looks great!

I'm a little sour on Starscream, myself, but mostly because I just got one for Christmas and it's a broken copy. One of the wings is missing the pin that attaches it to the body (it's hanging on by friction alone), and one of the little wing fragment pieces that connects to the jet's nose broke instantly because the plastic is warped where the little bolt that connects it to the jet's nose goes.

Well that's a bummer. That mold shines as a torso, is so-so as a bot and alt-mode is jet like. Elita wears it better.

It would help if the feet were sculpted like on the G1 and Classics Seeker molds: Hollow side forward so they can fold onto the calves.

My only especially negative experience with the mold was the overly-long pegs on my Starscream's leg panels. They prevented the legs from closing up in jet mode (anyone else encounter that?).

Agreed. Elita owns that mold, she makes a great standalone and Starscream makes the better torso.

Also, if anyone has a blue Swoop they want to get rid of, I will be of sore need for one once Red Swoop arrives! So please help me if you can!

Maybe hangfire on any plans as it does look like we're getting a fourth fembot limb:
