But that isn't even a cartoon accurate head, the shape is all wrong and it's missing a lot of details. It should look like his head is inside a box, sort of like a hoodie, this is strangely shaped slab with a face sticking out of it.

This is a Devastator-level bad design.

10 in one city!? There's only 5 in my entire state, one is 11 miles away, after that the nearest is 41 miles and then 70. Same exact story with Walgreens. This is why I find store exclusives so frustrating.

I just hope Predaking comes out all right. I've come to be afraid of Titan class figures as every one has had issues. Hopefully, they won't pull a Devastator and give us Predacons with no elbows because "TEH BUDGET"

I just don't like the $19.99 price for deluxe class, yet I know I will still buy them!

I think he'll turn out alright. Five bots to share the budget compared to six and none of them have to use their arms as heel struts. If anything, I'd be more worried about Razorclaw getting the shaft because of the Matrix/Enigma gimmick.

That's why I'm waiting on :TAKARATOMY:. If Hasbro messes up, or shortcuts, TT will assuredly fix.

Well, they had the help of the schedule there. Hasbro themselves fixed it as well on later releases.

The original point still stands. Although I'm not aware of any issues with Metroplex (since I never got one, have the TT reissue on pre-order), nor issues with Fort Max...

However IMHO, :TAKARATOMY: UW Devastator was decidedly superior to Hasbro's CW Devastator, which is why I waited and got the import. Now I'm not expecting PotP Predaking to have any foreseeable flaws, or limitations due to production budget, but if that does happen to be the case, I'm confident that :TAKARATOMY: will add any possible missing accessories, as has been the case in the past.

Nothing has even been announced yet on their end. Most likely the Prime Masters, and Leader Class PotP figures will be continued in the Legends line, The legends class will either continue with TF Adventure, or since that is ending, perhaps just roll up into Legends. But I am very much hoping for a return of the UW for the Voyager and deluxe figures.

IIRC the TakaraTomy version is the original design, with Hasbro having requested it to be "dumbed down" for their market. My best guess is that it was for budget reasons as the parts count, including the guns, has been significantly lowered. Just saying, that may play a factor in future improvements, if any.

TF Adventure has indeed been put on hold for the time being, maybe even silently ended. Not that it matters much, the Legends Class figures have already been integrated into Transformers Legends, either with an extra Titan Master, or as a 2-pack. I don't really see that changing soon. As for UW... we'll have to wait and see. I'm very curious what TakaraTomy will do with the likes of Starscream and Jazz.

Yeah, it's a little bit of both really. The only store that I have little trouble getting exclusives from is Walmart since those are everywhere even here. All but one of the Targets opened within the last 5-10 years, they're still a relatively new thing for us. The one that's 70 miles south of me was the first one, built around the time of Armada, so many 16 years ago. Walgreens has only been around for a few years now, I think the last time I checked there were 11 state wide compared to well over 100 Rite Aids, and the one nearest me never got Brainstorm that I could see, I got mine while on a trip. You'd think living just outside of the capital would have its perks as a collector, but it really doesn't.

So, anyway, enough about me, back on topic: I wonder what the chances are of the Predacons even coming with their weapons? Maybe their swords, but I feel like they'll cut out the guns. I wonder if Predaking will even get a weapon? I feel like if they do an SDCC exclusive then that one will come with the big sword, but not the retail version just like Fort Max.

I've found that the Internet seems to be the great equalizer, in many (I realize not all..) cases. I live in a top 20 market. There are 4 TRU in my general vicinity (1 mile, 6 miles, 10 miles & 20 miles away from my home respectively). There's also a TRU clearance store, but I rarely go there. There are also about 15 Targets, and at least 20 Wal Marts (of which I probably regularly visit only 3 or 4 of each the closest by...) . But with all that, I have not yet seen Ramhorn, Overlord, or any wave 5 Deluxe from TR. I'm sure I will in time, but that's just it...for stores in my area it does take time. My area is generally never first to have a sighting of anything. Stores in my area now are getting flooded it seems with TR Voyager Prime & Megs...a rerelease of wave 3 I guess...so I never know what to think, and also getting a good deal has still lead me to make purchases online despite all the B&M relatively close to me.

Rodimus Unicronus is literally the closest you can get to Shattered Glass Rodimus without it being named Shattered Glass Rodimus. I suppose we have yet to see the bio for the figure, but knowing current trends it'll probably be a single ambiguous sentence along the lines of "Rodimus is black and purple now." :-P

For all intents and purposes, this is absolutely meant to be Shattered Glass Rodimus - I'm pretty sure he even has a purple Autobot symbol if I'm interpreting recent photos correctly. So if you want an SG Roddy, go for it and don't let the name (or whatever truncated nonsense the bio ends up being) stop you! ;)^

John Warden said that Rodimus Unicronus is Hot Rod having been corrupted by Unicron into Nemesis Hot Rod, who uses the Matrix of Chaos to evolve into Rodimus Unicronus.

His official stock renders also have Decepticon symbols. :CON: (as opposed to the :SG-BOTS: his painted sample on display at NYCC had)

It really isn't show-accurate at all, as Kurona explained here.
Kurona wrote:My problem with Windcharger's head isn't that it matches how he looked in the cartoon, actually. It's that it doesn't match how he looked in the cartoon.

It's not a head jutting out from a slab; it's a face-in-a-box deal, sort of like Motormaster. It's not an amazing head design, but it's perfectly fine and looks pretty good and fits the overall aesthetic of both him and his cohorts. Both his CHUG toys so far have captured the face-in-box thing pretty well too (though in my opinion, CW pulls it off much better than RTS).

And when you bring up the cartoon screenshot (like I did up there) alongside these previous efforts and then alongside the new one... it really starts to show that the headsculpt isn't just bad, it does not capture his likeness in the cartoon at all.

His bio was revealed in this big ass post I painstakingly newsed for you all to enjoy :-D

https://www.seibertron.com/transformers ... c17/39750/

When the heroic HOT ROD is corrupted by the Matrix of Chaos, he evolves to RODIMUS UNICRONUS, a servant of evil driven by a sole purpose: destroy the Matrix of Leadership. This TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS POWER OF THE PRIMES LEADER CLASS EVOLUTION RODIMUS UNICRONUS figure is a 9-inch-scale figure that comes with converting Evolution Armor. Use the Evolution Armor to evolve this figure from NEMESIS HOT ROD to RODIMUS UNICRONUS.

Actually Monkey Prime and Rodimus Unicronus are the only 2 leaders I'm going for. Normally I'm a bit of a completionist, but from TR with PMOP, Magnus Prime and Skater Prime, and the CW voyager primes, I'm a bit primed out right now. If they do go for a nemesis prime repaint, I'll be all over that though.

Of course that is what I'm saying for now, who know's what my plastic crack addiction will say once I see him in stores. Especially if they give us an easter egg like a TR base compatible ramp connector for the trailer. That would be a game changer for me. I doubt they will because of Hasbro's parts count fetish, but it would be a nice tie in between the lines since the prime masters could still use a base.

If you want to ignore the combiner hands/chest armor that come with the deluxes, do so! You can just put the combiner feet that come with Grimlock into a box too. Display your toys how you want to. Getting proper "Classics" updates of the original Dinobot team has been a LONG time coming, and if you pass on these, it'll probably be many, many years before you get another shot at this, if ever again, honestly.

Are they the best G1 homage to the Dinobots we're likely to get between now and the near future? Absolutely! Does that automatically make them awesome? Nope.

I agree that the combination gimmick is fairly unobtrusive, but I think the individual figures aren't particularly impressive. Deluxe sized dinosaurs and robot modes that aren't all that intimidating don't quite remind me of all the gasps and exclamations the Autobots made when they were first revealed in season 1. These figures feel more like the result of a Teen Titans-style reboot; Junior Dinobots!
