another reason why i hate character deaths in general

Probably because they get the designs well in advance of seeing the movies so they just pick characters to make based on how cool they look, only to find out their entire screen presence in the movie can be spliced together from TV spots. Prime1 is also making a statue of him so someone on the movie's marketing team did a great job of selling companies on Blitzwing as a good choice for a high end collectible.

Yeah true that is the way it works.

It's just such a shame the design wasn't used throughout the movie. :-(

Lest we forget that Onslaught statue from TLK. One of only 2 cons that had a statue lined up from TLK, and it was that guy. Not Nitro Zeus, not Barricade, Onslaught.

Well hey, at least Onslaught gets something that way. And he makes for an imposing statue if nothing else.

Pretty sure it was cancelled though, after how disappointing he was and the film was in general. All we ever saw I think were mockups but no statue itself, and definitely no pre-orders.

It looks really good, but he looks more a like a semi articulated toy, than a statue.
Its too expensive for me right now,but I'm happy for those who can afford it.

That's cuz he is a fully-articulated figure; the article is mislabeled. 3A makes articulated figures, not statues.

Isn't this an action figure though and not a statue?

Also not a bash on the figure at all, but personally I prefer the look of the Studio Series one. Looks more uniform and how I remember him looking in the movie. This one looks a lot busier and the head looks a lot thinner than I remember. I assume this is more based on earlier concept art?

Someone actually did some side-by-side comparisons of it with the final movie model, and it's mostly pretty much spot-on, although the head does look thinner (wondering if that's just the angle/aperture warping it or not).

Regarding those mondo mecha figures. They are cool indeed, but it is unusual to see non-transformers related stuff to be featured here. Does this hinting that they transform or something?

This thing is truly a work of toy art and appears to capture every subtle detail and nuance to what many have considered one of, if not thee best movie Optimus Prime designs seen so far. Whether you're a huge fan of the design or not, whether you're going to be buying this piece or not, PrimeVsPrime gives an excellent run down of the articulation, the stand, the blaster, every bit and piece you like to see in a review of one of these higher end items. Soundwave up for preorder in UK. Stands taller than Blitzscream too which is surprising. Something about the blockiness that detracts from the design rather than adding to it and the shoulder gun looks a bit off.

ThreeZero Bumblebee Movie Premium Optimus Prime Revealed

PostPosted: Thu May 28, 2020 1:17 pm
by D-Maximal_Primal
Thanks to the ThreeZero Twitter page, we have a tease for their next upcoming premium collectors figure: Bumblebee movie Optimus Prime!

The Bumblebee movie Optimus Prime design has caused quite a stir since it debuted in the Bumblebee film back in 2018, and we have had the pleasure of getting both a transforming Studio Series toy and a prior Deluxe ThreeZero figure of this design. This new take by ThreeZero is a larger and even more premium version of their original deluxe Optimus Prime, featuring a diecast metal frame, over 140 points of articulation, and it stands an impressive 19 inches tall (so on par with Combiner Wars Devastator in terms of height, and certainly it will be heavier).

While we only have the 1 teaser picture provided by ThreeZero, we will certainly see more images and get more information soon.

Check out the teaser below, and let us know what you think in the comments section below!
