Few Questions about Movie Line toys and G1 boxset

Can somebody convince me whether or not to open up my new Transformer toy boxes? Voyager and Leader Class toys. x3 I wanna keep them inside the boxes, but I also wanna play with them. hehe (though I will most likely keep Optimus Mp-4 MiSB whenever i get it)
I'm also wondering, any of you think any of these toys being made now (movie line) will be as valuable as the G1 and MP toy line 10-20 years from now? I keep asking myself is it even worth it to keep them MISB. The freakin boxes were like already scratched and a little beat from the rascals at the stores. So yea...
And do you think they will ever "remaster" or "re-release" the G1 series: complete? Or should I just buy the Chinese/English Gen 1 Complete thats being sold right now. Like on Amazon or the Madman version.

There weren't the collectors or the availability to collect the G1 toys 23 years ago like there is today, so they probably won't be the same increase in price over the next few decades. I would remove them, play with them, then put them back. Whatever you do take care of removing them from the boxes and save everything. If you're lucky enough to find them on sale or have discount coupons you can have all the fun you want with them and sell them in 5 years and still at least break even. It's what I do with 90% of the one's I buy.

i agree
i collect shoes as well as action figures and at 1st i was always hesitant to either wear my shoes or open the action figures, but then i thought, what good is having something if you're not going to use it, so now i actually use my shoes
but anyways i think transformers toys are actually worth opening because you get to transform them while other action figures are only good for looking at and posing
also it's easy to put Leader and Voyager class movie toys back in their packages and Deluxe class toys are cheap enough to buy 2 figures if you really plan on selling a sealed one in the future

as a long time toy collector, i always open my figures and display them the sense of buying them and not opening is something that i don't dig yet unless you buy 2 figures one to open and one not to open...

Really you guys open them? So should I open mines too then?
I have a Classic Deluxe Grimlock, Barricade vs. Bumble 2 pack, and Blackout and Scorponok 2 pack, so are they ok to open?

I don't know about you, but i buy my Transformers to actually transform them.
So yeah I open the boxes. Whether you should or not, its up to you, but I can't understand why you would buy something and then not use it.

I bought a Classic Deluxe Grimlock over the weekend and opened him up as soon as I got home. I even thew the packaging away. I like collecting these things because it makes me feel like a kid again and lately I've needed that. Like my comics, I feel that if I'm collecting these toys as some sort of investment then I'm doing it for the wrong reasons.

I've been collecting since Beast Wars and all of them are still MISB or MIP or MOC. The only one that I open was the OP Fire engine and that's cause I got 2 of them. MY Transformers, Star Wars and Star Trek figures are for my grand chrilden(I have 6 grand kids, 3 boys and 3 girls). I'll let them play with them or sell them if they want. I just like collecting them!!

I would IMO open them up. Regaurdless of what there worth in the future, If you dont plan on selling them then i would open them. To me the fun thing about collecting transformers is transforming them and displaying them. But do what you think is the best for you.

Vs. boxes I opened when I was younger. Like 22 or 23

Now that I'm older and mature 29

I don't.

Well, that was alot of convincing. hehe. I think I know what to do now.
I guess my thinking I've come up with for those Final Fantasy figures messed me up there. Transformer toy are made to transform! XD
Unlike Cloud Strife who really doesn't do nothing but stand and look cool nex to his bike.

There is an old saying that I like to go by in the collecting world. Buy the things you enjoy to enjoy them. Don't buy stuff to make a profit.
If you're looking to invest your money then invest it in stocks, or bonds, or land, or a house something gareenteed to earn money. Toys are not an investment they are a hobby, something to be enjoyed by the collector. If perchance somewhere down the road you decide you don't want them any more and you end up making a profit on them good for you you got lucky. But the fact is not all toys go up in value. For something to go up in value there has to be more demand than supply.
Look at those stupid beany babies in the 90s. Thousands of people idiotically collected them like mad with the expectation they would be worth a fortune. Now they are worth next to nothing. Don't plan to make your fortune in toys friends. Invest wisely and make your money work for you and you'll get rich far faster than lucking out on some MISB toy will ever make you no matter how long you hold on to it.
