It was in my thoughts the entire time I handled Roadblock, Kanra! I basically told myself if there was ANY resistance to putting that li'l gun in Mini-Block's hand, I would cease & desist -- fortunately, it slid in!

After the photos I told myself his innerbot would once again go back in and remain shell'd forever....until I feel like rolling the dice again :BANG_HEAD:

Coming sooner or later at Bodrock's:

I'm really not a glutton for punishment! It's just that Roadblock looks so cool....and has a lot of crappy gold plastic. He was the first one I had to have 100% complete! But yeah, messing around with his innerbot may only end in tears.

We won't have those vintage-toy worries when dem PotP Prime Master Pretenders arrive! But they'll never replace these G1 originals.

Yep, I can't wait for the new Pretenders from Power of the Primes either.

Or anything Power of the Primes related for that matter.

Oh by the way, this is my first post! Hi, everyone! :)

Which make me wonder why no Pretenders were ever reissued. They lost the molds, or they expected low sales and didn't bother?

Because I would have been all over a Platinum set of the Evil Trio. Bombburst, Submarauder and Skullgrin, but with better, more realistic paint? They would have been awesome.

Welcome aboard, Triggerdick! I'll most likely be buying all the Pretender Prime Masters, and I'm also really lookin forward to dat Optimus & Roddy!

Lost Lighters
Speaking of Rodimus, I l'd love to see humanoid Pretender shells for TR Deluxe (or Legends!) figures based on avatars from the IDW Lost Light comic....I can dream, can't I?

Whiiiiiirl

Reissues of the G1 originals would have been cool, Kanrabat! If Takara or Hasbrah is smart, they should do so once the Pretender Prime Masters reawaken interest in the G1 Pretenders...

It would be even better with improved paint applications, no doubt -- maybe then, people would be able to tell Skullgrin has a bottom half to his jaw!

But yeah, perhaps they lost the Pretender molds like Sega lost the code for Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Saturn.

Bodrock, that may be my new phone wallpaper now!! WHIRL!!!

And I would love the idea of making shells for legends figures. I still really wish I could get that monkey shell for Oilmaster and Prime. That is a figure on my golden list there!

Whirl's avatar/Pretender would be the best! They could be the new Pretender Classics like Starscream, Grimmmy, Jazz and Bee got, back in tha day.

And yes! Double Pretender Trukk-and-Munky Optimus looks amazing. He still goes for around $85+, but I think would be an excellent addition to any TF collection. I was set to get him at one point....but got Roadblock instead, iirc :-P

As much as I'd love to have Black Shadow, Sky Shadow works great!

He loses something by not being a Pretender anymore, but at least he's got a Titan Master....
IMG_7812.JPG
Thunderwing gets to be a Titan Master himself -- but he no longer looks like a Japanese oni.

I must admit that seeing his TM-self on Nitro's body is pretty cool -- it almost makes up for the lack of his innerbot. Almost. ;)

This isn't a bad price for Jazz....

Could you make dreams come true with an extra Pretender Classics Jazz, Kanrabat? ;)

For me, this is not a great deal. Shipping PLUS the taxes will double the price of the figure. Maybe for a 100% complete one it would be tolerable, but not for this. Especially not for a custom.

All I need is the shell, the helmet, and one of the guns. For 30$ shipped top preferably.

My Universe Legion Jazz will play the role of the inner bot perfectly.

In time, an interesting listing WILL pop up. Even maybe part of a lot. Only thing to do is wait.

Ah, yes, shipping can definitely be a price-killer on scalpBay.

I lost out earlier on a Stone Temple Pilots (Core!) LP, but there are a few Pretender accessories I'm still casually hunting....and Bludgeon. ;)

I'll keep an eye out for a Scatman shell!

There is a 100% complete G1 Monstructor on eBay that has a single broken tab that does not affect combining for $325. You have no idea how much I've wanted to hit the buy button

Can't really justify it yet. still job hunting. and I anticipate TLK Dragonstorm and cogman are gonna cost me a lot. But I so want him...

Gotta wait then.

Having known... My local seller, whom I unloaded him 50% of my collection to get so many G1s, had a 100% complete and unbroken Monstructor.... for 250$... In CANADIAN dollars. (add 15% of taxes but still). It got sold rather quickly for some reason. :-?

Unfortunately, the buyer wanted to transform him, despite the seller's warnings. After payment, he transformed a component and of course, a gold part shattered. They glued it back on and the buyer swore to never pull the Devil's tail again. He was still glad about his purchase though.

As if you aren't a true Transformer collector unless you shattered an expensive golden vintage toy!

That's a fact, Kanra!

I took innerbot Roadblock out and rolled dem dice recently, as you saw and warned about....and I've worsened the condition of some of my Pretenders simply by transforming them.

But we simply aren't the kind of collectors to keep our Cons encased, hermetically sealed and graded, are we? ;)

Hell no. For me, a collection of sealed boxes is pretty sad.

I'm with ya there, Kanra, but the heartbreak from robo-breakage is not something I'd wish on anybot.

I'd love to have Monstructor! And I would've done the same thing in wanting to have them merge for the kill....but GPS is hell.

I'm still kicking myself for not buying TLK Leader Dragonstorm last week -- but that's $50 I didn't have at the moment. :(

Good luck on the hunts!

From the TF Haul Thread, -Kanrabat- wrote:Paid a visit to my local Geek Store to get my friend a CW Streetwise for his combiner. While being there I just had to take something extra. Because he's coming in PotP and my :BOT: pretenders are unfairly outmatched by the :CON: , I got G1 Pretender Cloudburst. He's WAY better than I expected. 100% complete for only 60$CAN + taxes. I had to clean it up and maybe I'll refresh his stickers with repros. Can't wait for his PotP mini-me!

Image

So, allow me to EXPAND DONG.
Image
The shell is very nice looking. Can't be more :BOT: than RED and BLUE! The helmet and the belt are removable and are easily lost. However, if anyone ever own Cloudburst, one must be careful when putting the belt on the RIGHT way. At the store, the belt was stuck on pretty hard and was forced in place. Luckily, we could remove it without any damages. Put on the right way, the belt come on and off easily. The whip is easy to slide in and you can ajust the held length as will.
Image

Where Cloudburst truly shine is with his inner bot. It's pretty well articulated for a G1 figure and is well proportioned.

Image

Image
Image

The inner bot have a simple Pretender transformation from the first wave, but the vehicle is GREAT looking and the bot manage to disappear almost completely!

Image
Image

I just need maybe one more :BOT: Pretender to balance the odds.

Image

No regrets for him. All thanks to those PotP reveals!
