I can only think of Dino, Blackout, Nitro Zeus, Mohawk, Scalpel, Brains, Stinger, and Dragonstorm.
Am I missing any?

Dispenser, ejector, Crowbar, Dreadbot, Berserker, infernicous, vatti bot, Oreo bot, KSI boss, watch that killed hitler, skullitron, bulldog, sqweaks, lieutenant, day trader...the list goes on. There’s a ton of them

Plus, if you really wanted to go there, a lot of characters with shared names but very different designs could get absorbed into TF canon with slightly different or new names

I guess I was only thinking of characters that had a speaking part, or more than a few seconds of screen time. I would include a few of your list for sure. And yeah, there are alot of bots that could use a new name. I'd love to see movie Sideswipe get some generations love.

There’s also Shatter and Dropkick who got his name from a 2007 movie figure who wasn’t in the movie. I would probably wager there’s more original transformers than characters with legacy names in the live action movies.

Does Barricade not count?

Also, not sure Dino would be considered an original character by all.

Anyways, you also have Scorn, the baby dinos, Daytrader, the Knights, a Submarine transformer, Cogman, Que, Dispensor, Junkheap, Berserker, Crowbar, Crankcase, Hatchet, Hooligan, Sqweaks, Canope, Bonecrusher, Jolt, Shatter, Dropkick and I am sure more than that too.

Weird, Shockwave is a cross between Cyberverse and Cyber Battalion. I do like both Shockwaves so I'll be looking for this.

You would consider Dino to not be an original character but include Que who has more in common with his intended name (Wheeljack) then Dino (Mirage) does?

Considering the Mirage name was entirely abandoned beyond a few-prerelease things like some merchandise and novel/video game appearances and has gone only by Dino since DOTM I think he counts as original but that's just me.

That's what they're for, in part. Standing in front of the three pegs of robot toys at a Dollar General or Family Dollar, or in the seasonal section at Walgreens? Here are the 'Authentic' Transformers, parent/grandparent/etc.

The Evergreen design makes so much more sense and is a lot more interesting than another datsun use. I hope he gets more than just an authentics release in that body style

I hope so too, its a great evolution of the character

and I certainly wouldn't mind Barricade being the bot that brings in more bots from the movie-verse into wider TF lore, like Nitro Zeus, Mohawk, Blackout, etc.

I agree!

Ok, I think I've figured it out. The wings are a dead giveaway:

It's just an even more simplified version of the already simple Cyber Battalion alt mode in Cyberverse's colors.

Review of Transformers Authentics Barricade Which is now Available in US

PostPosted: Sat May 08, 2021 7:34 pm
by william-james88
At the tail end of April, several fans found the new Authentics bravo class Barricade in the US at Dollar General. That's been the main place to buy these toys. If you saw him and were wondering if he was good, well fellow Seibertronian Chuckdawg made a review. This Barricade is based on the evergreen design which adapts the TLK movie design into a more "G1" style.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Authentics Barricade is probably the best Bravo Class figure I've handled. The transformation is solid, and while the joints are a little looser than I prefer, the figure isn't a floppy mess. Definitely worth the purchase.

Windshield indents make it look like it could be a new crossover figure, this time with Disney's Cars.

Video Review for Transformers Authentics Shockwave

PostPosted: Mon May 31, 2021 7:45 am
by william-james88
Once again, fellow Seibertronian Chuckdawg takes a bullet for us by buying the latest authentic figure, Shockwave, to let us know if he is worth looking into. Turns out he is pretty good for a cheaper figure aimed at younger fans.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:Authentics Shockwave is an ok figure. Stylistically it shares a lot with the Cyber Battalion Shockwave from a few years ago, while borrowing from the Cyberverse aesthetic and adding some nice touches like knee articulation. While not the best figure from the Authentics line, it's a solid entry and worth the purchase.

Good review, interesting design, I'm positive that he mistook the underside of the alternate mode as the top side though. Still, fun looking toy!

I think it's trying to be different from the Cyber Battalion version.

Odd choice by the designers, but I mean, sure?

Still a better mode than the spider tank.

I disagree, the spider tank can work well, if done properly. And the "voyager" sized shockwave from Cybervers was pretty good.

And I don't remember anyone hating this toy when it came out
