I haven't said this about a toy in what feels like forever, but I want primal. Bad. Lol

Really like Starscream, it's a better looking figure than the Bravo version with the flat cockpit. He really looks a lot like the control art, just needs some more colors.

Primal looks great, though the blue on his chest looks like it was done with a spray can, lots of over paint. I wonder if he's too big to stand next to the small Transmetal Primal released in Japan.

While I think it's weird this guy isn't seeing a Legacy release, I want him nonetheless. He'll look great next to my Core collection. I'm honestly hoping Hasbro keeps releasing characters in the Core class no matter the line, they're an excellent way to build up entire armies of figures when one can only afford the occasional larger figure.

This is one of the few authentics toys I can appreciate. Kids toys can be good, see! But one question, why does he have guns instead of swords? Thinking like a kid swords would be cooler because they are unique for tfs.

That's because his shoulder canons serves a dual purpose here. So no extra budget for the swords.

Still prefer the spinal swords.

Pictorial and Video Reviews for Authentics Optimus Primal

While the Authentics line is not covered heavily since it isn't part of any reveals and is not even meant for big box retailers, the Optimus Primal toy did interest fans since it works with the core class collection Hasbro has been setting up in the Generations lines. However, as you will see below, this is not a core class toy, size wise. It is between the core class and deluxe class, being almost as big as a Studio Series Bumblebee toy. We have two reviews below to give you a better look at the figure. We don't have more info regarding his availability since there is no set rule for where figures like these may end up or when they will show up in various markets.

From TF fan France who posted on Botposting.

Authentics bravo class Optimus Primal.
He's... actually pretty good. I expected this to be very hollow and weightless like the other ones from the same toyline, but no. It's the opposite.
He has a decent amount of articulation, NONE of the pieces have fallen off, he doesn't look very hollow except on his legs and a little on the arms, and he actually has weight.
The painting and sculpting are good.
The arms and legs can bend and because they're on a balljoint they can also swivel. The head can only look from side to side in robot mode and the gorilla head can only look up and down.
For the accessories he has two blasters which are stored on his back.
He unfortunately doesn't have his two swords.
I'd say it's a good Optimus Primal for those looking for cheap.

The hollow bits are less incongruous than I thought. The bot looks great, the gorilla looks great, and that transformation is quick and easy. If I ever see it at Canadian Tire, I'll pick him up for sure.

I know producing reprolabels for evergreen figures would kind of defeat the point pricewise, but this Primal's chest is like a blue canvas BEGGING to be embellished! Have toyhax ever done that for Authentics?

No sets for any Authentics toys so far.

Not even 3D printed filler pieces or upgrade kits exist for any and those seriously needs them. Sure, those would also defeat the point of Authentics, but some designs are really good and could deserves the upgrade.

Shame that because some figures like Barricade are really good but terribly painted. He'd really benefit from window and door decals.

He looks pretty good! Its an official downsizing of the Kingdom mold, it makes me wish to see
other charactes and molds receive the same "Authentics" treatment.

Day 1116 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.

You might be right, that looks really good and big for a Bravo. Definitely need to keep an eye for these at the usual suspects (Five Below and Big Lots).
