I don't think so. That leader will be too big and out of scale with the current SS. Compared to the voyager, it was also an inferior mold.
Ideally, it would be something akin to SS DOTM Leader Megatron. Same size as the other Megs in bot mode, but with extra engineering to make one hell of a big spacejet. Add the arm cannon, big-ass sword, and the shield to make the ultimate package.

As for the Optimus, even though the TLK voyager is stellar, I'm sure they could make a leader AoE/TlK Optimus that would insanely compress to a "voyager" bot while having his big truck mode with a minimum of kibble.

I said it before, I'll say it again. I don't collect SS, but if we get a SS AoE Galvatron, I'm all over it. I'm hoping for a leader, but I know it's fat chance, since Hasbro wants him in scale with Optimus. I just love that Freightliner truck mode. And yes I know if he was to be "screen accurate" he would have to be basically a Lego figure.

I'm pretty sure that if he's a "voyager" sized leader, SS AoE Galvatron could take a clue from Unique Toy's design and work their magic. Despite his blocky legs, DOTM Leader Megatron was pretty damn clever so I'm sure that Hasbro/Takara could surprise us.

That's a great looking collection! Really like the Lego Devastator too, that's neat!

With regards to AOE/TLK figures, I started off SS sticking with the first 3 movies (though I did get Stinger eventually), but at the rate Bayverse SS is coming now I can definitely accommodate some AOE/TLK stuff.

I'd really like to see both versions of AOE Bee (still holding out a little hope that SS-79's single release will be a new mold), Evasion Prime, Galvatron, Hot Rod, and TLK Barricade. A new Hound with all of his weapons would be cool too!

And while it's unlikely given TLK Bee was released earlier in SS, a new take on that design with SS-49's upgrades to the chest and arms would be great.

We really need a good TLK Barricade, your right!

Because Hasbro Pulse UK still don't have Jolt, Grindor or Thrust listed (they have that dumb grey Jeep Bumblebee though...), I've been looking around for any other UK sites that have a pre-order listing for Jolt, and so far Smyths Toys are the only site I can find with a listing, but it just says Out Of Stock, expected October/November, with no pre-order option. Once I do get it sorted out though, I think Jolt will be the last regular Studio Series figure I buy, unless they do some good figures for Rise of the Beasts next year.

No.

They've been largely avoiding AOE and TLK characters since they're less popular.

The TLK ones especially tended to be mere straight redecos anyway, so there's that too.

Which would make them pretty easy to do.

I have been advocating for completing the AOE/TLK casts and doing updates of other ones like Infernocus for some time. And will continue doing it. We need a proper large Infernocus, and a complete TLK Crew.

And I will fight forever for a Driller toy.

anyways, the newest SS wave gave us some pretty fun toys

I would love to get a commander class driller, maybe 2 foot long and 6 inch in diameter?. They could make it open up into some sort of playset/base. And if you got 2 or more you could connect them together to make it bigger and more accurate. Honestly, I will buy (and have) any thing that they make based off the first 5 moves.

For a while, I didn't think a Driller toy would be viable since I didn't think it would be able to properly transform into anything.

But then it just hit me. It could be given a proper robot mode of its own, by transforming in a snake-like style similar to that of Gigano Dragon (but more stable and with more articulation afforded at a larger size).

I always thought that if there was a Driller made, it would be commander class, and the only way it would achieve a robot mode of sorts is if it was able to split apart and somehow attach itself to leader class Shockwave, making it basically an armor upgrade for Shockwave, like Jetfire did for Optimus.

That would be cool. I would pay for that.

If I remember, the Driller in DOTM is supposed to be GIGANTIC. So the only thing I can see is a titan class, non transformable, but loaded with joints and action features. Included with it would be a Core sized Shockwave. Maybe that Shockwave could be a straight repaint of the DotM Cyberverse Commander Shockwave.

Image

That Driller could open the door to the revival of the excellent DotM Cyberverse line, where all the characters were remade in "Legion" and "Core" sizes. Then maybe introducing playsets in scale. I know they tried it at the DotM time with the Ark, but it was subpart. If they get serious about this, we could have some kick-ass display possibilities.

A Titan Driller would almost have to be an exclusive for just us adults. No way a parent buys his/her kid a $160 plastic snake.

Not even 3P dared to tackle Shockwave's Driller. So having one in scale even with the HASLAB Unicron / Kingdom Ark micro figs is a pipe dream.

This is a really cool idea! Although I do think it would have to be bigger.

Got Jolt from Target today, and to my surprise there was 2 of him! Double checked my order and confirmed I only ordered one, so I guess I have one to keep in box!

Jolt is pretty good, robot mode is very well detailed, and the use of transparent plastic on the legs (as detail, not structural) is neat! I’m so used to the older movie toys that it’s a little weird seeing what Jolt actually looks like, but I like it!

The whips are strange - someone at Hasbro thought it was a good idea to make Topspin’s machine guns out of a soft rubbery plastic, but Jolt’s whips are a rigid plastic. Kinda strange, but I do like that they’re long enough to recreate Optimus’ power-up scene.

The only other complaint I have are the thigh panels - they really get in the way of leg articulation. They are easily removable though, which is kinda neat.

Overall, Jolt is good! I give him a thumbs-up!

Here he is with his ROTF wave mates - a really great wave, I gotta say!

Best guess as to why we've never gotten a Transformers toy of the Driller is because it's... not a Transformer.

It's either a vehicle, or a "wild animal" of some sort.
Then again, the Ark never transformed in the OG Cartoon but in Kingdom, he does. So why not make a Titan DotM Driller that not only would be able to slither around, but also have it's own surprise robot mode.

...as much as I doubt that a Titan-Class Driller is in the cards for the future, I do feel the need to point out that we do have a listing for an SS Core Class Shockwave for next year, and it shouldn't be a G1/86 Shockwave since there's also a listing for a Legacy one that will assumedly fill that role. Is that a hint of things to come? Who knows.

The cynic in me says yes, it is absolutely a sign of things to come. Main characters in core class, but unfortunately likely nothing more than that.

A reliable leaker from TFW gave the listings for the main TF lines for 2022 (Note, he said he doesn’t want to be credited if the info gets newsed). Relevant to this thread, we have:

Core Wave 1: BB Ravage, BB Shockwave

Core Wave 4: DOTM Laserbeak

Deluxe Wave 1: BB Ratchet, Wheeljack, Brawn

Deluxe Wave 2: BB Wheeljack, Ratchet, Arcee, Ironhide

Deluxe Wave 3: DOTM Bumblebee, ROTF Sideways

Deluxe Wave 4: AOE Crosshairs, TLK Hot Rod

Voyager Wave 1: BB Soundwave

Voyager wave 3: AOE Galvatron, BB Thundercracker

Leader Wave 3: The Fallen

I’m really happy with the Bayverse listings, DOTM Bee and Sideways are some of my most wanted figures and all the others sound good!

I'm assuming hot rod variant will be SG?

I'm happy about Sludge and a proper wheelie, though it's a shame they're not releasing a core class bayverse wheelie

86 arcee? I wonder if a new mold or slightly recolored wfc version? That's interesting

I'm surprised there's only one Dinobot listed, but either way I'm definitely getting Sludge, I just hope it ends up being its own mould and not a retooling of Slag. The Fallen is certainly tempting, but I'll wait to see what it looks like before I commit to buying one.
