I love how they reshelled the skeleton and used the same transformation, but reversed the orientation of the car/jeep shell with the front becoming the feet on B-127 and the back becoming the feet for Jeep Bee. It gives both a different feel when transforming despite sharing the engineering.

Got lucky this afternoon, my wife found SS BB Movie Soundwave at our local Walmart in Nixa, Missouri. Haven’t messed with him much, other than removing him from the package. I’m happy with him!

I saw a pair of SS BB Soundwaves and a Hot Rod at Walmart yesterday or the day before. Picked the figure up, pondered it.... and put it back. I may come back for it but right now I don't have an interest in getting EVERY Bumblebee movie character. The deluxe wave will be taken as they come.

I saw BB Soundwave yesterday for the first time. There were 2 of him. If Hotrod is his wave mate. Odd that the older toy was bought, and the 2 Soundwave's weren't.

Maybe hot rod is simply more popular.

That's what I was thinking, but I just wanted someone else to say it.

Same here. Saw Soundwave, no Hot Rod.

Personally, the shine wore off Soundwave after day 3 for me. The 1 I did get when I 1st saw him ended up going to a fellow fan who collects Soundwave. He's just not appealing to me on 2nd look. To me his body isn't right for some reason. He's just too bulky. Maybe because he was designed to house a cube in his chest, and also because I don't like the White on his legs. Should have been silver or at least gray. And the nonsensical alt mode. So he went to a better home.

I'm still planning on getting Wheeljack, Ratchet and Brawn.

I think this is the buyer's remorse I'm anticipating and why I passed on it.

I honestly vastly prefer the BB Seeker mold to the ER mold, and it's right there with Siege, but I think it still beats Siege. I would prefer that ER mold not be used again, it sucks.

I would love to have an armada of Bee movie seekers. I would not mind if some were exclusives because of the limited number of SS voyager slots, but I want more. I would love to see this mold in Netflix Hotlink colors, Redwing colors, and maybe Blackout colors (still waiting on that selects release to go with Sandstorm)

Transformers Studio Series 86 Core Class Exo Suit Spike Revealed

Greetings Seibertronians!

Thanks to a tip off from fellow Seibertron user, D-Maximal_Primal, we've learned of a new reveal for the Transformers Studio Series 86 line: Core Class Exo Suit Spike!

Image

Image

The reveal was made by Twitter user, Sixo, and it is unknown at the moment where they discovered it.

The toy depicts Spike in the Exo Suit that he wore in the 1986 Movie (and the same design as the one given to his son, Daniel). While there has been numerous attempts at the exo Suit in toy form, such as the one that was part of the Buzzworthy Bumblebee line, and the static one that came with last year's Studio Series 86 Leader Class Slug.

What do you think of this?

Will you be getting Spike? Or any other Studio Series Core Class?

Let us know in the Energon Pub and stay tuned to Seibertron for all the latest news and reviews!

Think that would have upped the plastic and parts count considerably, putting him firmly into the Deluxe price point

RiddlerJ wrote:Where's the back wheels?

They're either mis-transformed or non existent

I had to google it to look at it properly. The only instance I remembered of the Exosuit was The Movie. Even then the "car" mode was brief and from the front...

Ohhh that looks rough. A separate Witwicky was not an announcement I would ever had expected for the SS line to be fair. Movie or Bayformers.

In the movie, Spike was just a little shorter than Bumblebee when wearing the exosuit.

Which reminds me of this:

The mini vehicles scaling in the show was weird. 8-}

Whenever the G1 cartoon is involved, better forget anything about scale to preserve your sanity.

Clearly they've been sneaking into Wheeljack's lab closet.

True. But in all fairness, the cartoon was the only one to use the accurate city-sized scale of Fortress Maximus and Scorponok (carried over into the Takara series).

 It is easy to forget how goofy the cartoon was at times.

Or at the very least when it comes to SS Core Class. Shockwave comes to mind here.

That's roughly Titan Master scale, so if that's what you want, I hope you have the headmaster Arcee toy. I'll probably use the one from the Buzzworthy Bumblebee two-pack in any scenes with the full, larger cast, but it might depend on how I feel when I have the new one in-hand.

It's weird how we didn't have exosuit Daniel* for decades, now there's like a half dozen, including three in the last twelve months or so.

*Edit: I'm considering Spike and Daniel as effectively interchangeable in the case of the BB two-pack, I happen to have two of them, though I'll probably unload one.

Core is not a size scale, but (arguably) a size class. Even Kingdom had a mix of smaller figures and those at a nonstandard scale.

We should be thankful in that case, the SS line won't carry over into the shows post-Movie seasons. Scaling for Headmaster Arcee would be problematic...
