Every time I see Prime and Jetfire combined up, I'm always tempted to pick up the voyager Prime figure just so I can have them combined up sooner  But I know that I'm getting the DOTM version when that gets released and I hate getting two of a figure unless they have a decent gimmick

I didn't expect him to have ankle tilts. It's uncommon for deluxes to do so I thought. Some do, some don't. Can't pose at all?

Ok hi, Barricade.

That's some degree of posing. He's not one of those huge 5 point articulated figures clogging up stores in the past few years. He can turn head, elbows, double jointed knees, feet, open/close hands (What do you mean can't open his hands?), be made to squat or sit. Not sure what else you need from a lil brute like Barricade really. Certainly not Spider-Man like flexibility. Ok thigh swivels and waist swivel might be nice but he can certainly do some posing rather than none at all.

Wow, thanks for showing off these poses, I definitely need to try these some time :D

I picked up Jetfire today, and he's missing one of his vertical tailfins. Nice.

He's the only one I've seen, so I'll have to wait until I see another one to buy and get that piece. Arg.

Ehh.. that's sorta exaggerated. Users like me are used to censoring their swear words, and sometimes are uncomfortable spelling out a whole word like "****". It's not an attempt at "bypassing" as you say, but rather a user trying to be responsible and censor themselves generally. E.g. TFW2005 doesn't censor swear words. So just taking offense at it randomly when there are a ton of possible genuine reasons for it which are MORE likely the case, is slightly.. well.. pessimistically cynical of fellow users?

Also out of curiosity just in general, anyone own both the SS 38 Optimus and Siege Optimus to compare together? I'd like to know how well they match in design quality and stability. :-?

I do, siege is rock solid, ss 38 is made up of tiny parts - especially on the legs (the tires, and the arms they're on) they not only hamper the thigh swivel, but come untabbed super easily, the lower legs don't really lock into place, but they also don't flop about. Strictly speaking, ss38 is also solid, but its the little bits that keep coming undone on mine that bug me, whereas, siege prime being simpler tabs together and stays together. SS38 has more poseable ankles due to the transformation, so he has that on siege prime, but siege prime can flex his shoulders backwards for more dynamic poses. Design-wise, they're both crazy clever, but on different levels, ss38 is all tiny panels turning inside out and siege prime has the backpack wrap-around and arm/legs panels that reshape his entire body into a truck cab, so I say they're tied.

Haven't said much on sideswipe; he's fun, I feel that the dotm offering was such a strong contender that there wasn't much they could do to change it, but they did make the backpack more cohesive, and the detachable swords are a blessing and a curse, if only because they don't stay tabbed into his thighs, which is a shame, cuz they actually look pretty cool there. I like him, he's still the pain to get standing that darksteel was; speaking of which, if we're doing repaints, I would buy the heck out of a darksteel retool of this guy =P~

I think overall, Sideswipe is the best deluxe of the wave. I also am grateful they went back to the rear of the car becomes his chest, it bugged me that the DotM one didn't do that and went with the front of the car.

Wish we could get some stealth force styled upgrades for him. I loved Stealth force, that's something that needs revisited.

If they didn't I would be sorely upset. We needed a Weaponized Roadbuster and we actually needed Leadfoot to come out. That's still a very sore spot for me from DotM

Haha. It was a fail, but Barricade was trying so hard to hold up the heavy things that he fell over, and got runneded over. But devouring sounds good

It's hard because I'm tryna decide whether to go for this guy, or the Siege Optimus since I can get him earlier. I guess it just all comes down to how dynamic both look. The only problem for me with Siege Optimus is that.. dumb worn paint job. I do much prefer Siege Optimus's blue hands though, so he does have that. Though his gun looks really hollow unlike the SS one, and I prefer the SS one's truck mode. AGHHH

Idunno, do I wait for this Optimus, or get the Siege one because I can right now? I want myself a good Optimus finally, but I'm so impatient! :( Which one is easier to mess with you'd say? Which one feels like a better action figure?

Thanks a bunch. It was super hard to decide because they both look amazing for different reasons. I think I prefer Siege's classic head and blue hands and such, as well as the better looking feet, but I just thought the SS Optimus had a really amazing hip construction that looks damn close to MP in design. But, since my other G1ish style figures are from CHUG, I think the Siege one would fit the style of the rest better anyway. Plus I simply love the new Siege Springer, and the Siege Optimus would fit better with him. And, lordy.. That Siege Optimus looks like a proper action figure.

Plus I have some extra money for reprolabels if I so want to remove the paint and reapply another Autobot insignia. :-?

Well, if you really want both you can still get ss38 in the jetwing set, and still be able to pull off jetfire shenanigans since it's the same figure, only with the bright orange and awesome trailer; I know that if I'm in a position to, I'll get both since they each have their own combined mode, but I think that siege prime is too good a figure to pass up

Well, everything I've read points towards it being a great, solid figure, I say, if you dig it, you'll like it, especially if the siege one has things that bug you and that one doesn't ;)^

Lol no problem. Well I guess now I've made up my mind to preorder the SS Optimus since I genuinely like it better. Both look amazing, but overall the SS one has better paint apps I think and also a SICK truck mode.

You might want to play the waiting game a little longer if you're trying to decide on a "Classics" Optimus Prime. There is allegedly a "35th Anniversary" edition of the SIEGE figure yet to be widely revealed that we know of from some pre-show spywork at Toy Fair earlier this month. Speculation is that it will be a "clean" decoed version of Optimus Prime, but we don't really know for sure, as the figure wasn't at the show in person. The display only used some cardboard placeholders as demonstration. The cell-shaded nature of those stock-image mock-ups have led some to believe the figures will be "cell-shaded" as well. Only Soundblaster was actually shown in person, and it may have simply been a hand-painted SIEGE Soundwave for all we know. Anyway, keep a look out for news on that if all that's putting you off SIEGE Optimus Prime right now is the battle damage paint apps. If you really love Studio Series 38 Optimus Prime, though, I'd say go for it! He's a gorgeous G1-inspired figure in his own right.

SS "Geewun" Optimus is a work of art in it's own right. I'm looking forward to it to arrive locally.

New Images of Upcoming Transformers Studio Series Toys With Limb Modes for Scrapmetal and Rampage

We have some nice new images of upcoming studio series toys. These are from Takara for their release of these toys, and as we all know by now those are the exact same toys Hasbro is releasing.

These images help us see the final look at the toys since they aren't renders or painted prototypes. This is also the very first time we see the arm and leg modes for the bots that will make up Revenge of the Fallen Devastator.

The iamges come from Dengeki Hobby and feature releases SS-29 through 33, with Bumblebee movie Optimus Prime, Shatter, Cogman, Scrapmetal, and Rampage.

Enjoy the images below and let us know what you think of them!
