Doing a bunch of catching up here, but even with all the "premium" things they are doing with movie toys, I'm still not a fan.

On the other hand if you are, this is probably a great improvement.

What’s everyone’s issue with the foot mode? I doubt you’ll see much of it other than the toes in combined mode.

I don't know either. the foot mode looks good to me, and he literally is a foot to a quadrupedal monster, so it's good

Exactly!

And he pulls off 3 nice looking modes along with a decently articulated robot mode at the same time, so what can you complaining about (besides size)?

I have a theory in my head that reason we haven't seen a Studio Series Blitzwing yet,is becaause HasTak didn't want to draw attention away from the SIEGE seeker mold.
If they did release Blitzwing, people would ask/expect repaints and thas something I can see HasTak now wanting to commit to right now.

I’m just thinking that his foot mode ought to have more prominent toes, although I admit it’s kinda hard to tell exactly what Long Haul looks like here on account of being so small.

I suppose it will look much better when combined into Devastator.

Also, you have to remember that in that image, that is not long haul as his foot, but another bot instead who may or may not have a robot mode.

Are you sure about that? I thought it was only Rampage that joined with another bot to form a leg.

I think you are misunderstanding what Will was talking about. The image in question was from the movie and Will was responding to complaints about how Long Hauls robot mode is too short.

In the movie, Long Haul, Mixmastrer and Rampage did not form Devastator. They were elsewhere fighting when Devy was formed. The bots from the movie that did form Devy were unnamed extras that may or may not have individual robot modes. That's what Will was getting at. There were 2 dump truck cons, Long Haul who was larger than Starscream, and the unnamed bot who formed Devy's leg, and whose robot mode height is unknown.

Aside from Rampage (the only component Constructicon named onscreen in the movie), the ones fighting in the desert ruins away from Devastator were unnamed as well.

Thanks, that is indeed what i meant. Basically, comparing this toy's combined form for true screen accuracy is a futile effort in this case since none of these bots actually formed Devastator.

I really hate that whole "but Long Haul or whoever didn't form Devy" thing.

There were 2 of each. Long Haul and his Twin Haul II. They were seen in robot and combined mode.

Just let it go, you don't need to get so particular about it.

:???: but i am using that as an excuse not to get particular about the combined mode not matching up perfectly.

Combined modes are never perfect, so it really shouldn't matter too much. And these are movie figures, rarely do the toys match up with the on screen bot 100%.

I see the whole Constructicon thing way too much, and it annoys me to hear how the actual named constructicons don't combine.

Because there can be more than 1 bot and it's more fun to have named bot be part of Devastator. That's like saying in that one infamous G1 episode where you saw Bruticus and the combaticons all together that then there is another Bruticus and his components are not the combaticons. RotF gave us a really cool and unique combiner that was made of component bots who had look a likes in the army of generics fighting in Egypt so i like to think that Devastator was made of named robots.

What he means is, there were two Long Hauls in the movie. One who formed Devastator's leg, and another who fought by himself away from Devastator.

Exactly. I hate the whole "Long Haul was air striked dead, and some generic green dump truck formed Devy"

Thank you for articulating it better Sabr.

I’ve been doing some practice paint work on SS-05 while I wait for DOTM Prime, and the bright red really does help! While it’s not my definitive Prime, I gotta say I’m way more impressed by SS-05 than I thought I would be. I’ve also been working on some more weapons to complement the arsenal coming with DOTM Prime!

Nice weapons! I really like the fact that movie Prime had hooks, it's pretty original, just like the grappling lines from Animated Prime

Since we just got some early Siege/WfC reveals, anyone want to make any predictions as to what we'll see on the Studio Series side? I'm expecting this year's Wave 4, as we still have yet to see what happens after Drift and them in Wave 3, and probably at least some of the other Constructicons.

I’m not as hardcore into the Studio Series is there an expected numbered amount with gaps we’re guessing at or are you just thinking some fun speculation? Because if that’s the case I want a cool Galvatron out of this line seriously dude I would love to see how they pull that off. I’ve been impressed so far with the few I have I mean I feel like they look and feel like they cost a lot more than they are. The engineering and complexity is just stellar. Just my experience so far - no duds yet.

Meh, the engineering in Studio Series is no more advanced than the best seen in other movie lines. And it's not al;ways up to par. But even with the best engineering, a "cool Galvatron" in impossible. ANY toy of him with a remotely accurate robot mode is fated to end up a shellformer.

Because AoE Galvatron is a completely untransformable design. He's a filthy cheating garbage abomination that magically morphs from a tweaked version of Megs' Movie 1 robot mode into an Earthly semi truck. :-x He is filth, the person who designed him should be flogged, the useless smegheads who approved the design should be doubly flogged, and his design should be left to rot in the vault of shame forever.

The only way he could possibly be pulled off without heavy shellforming (or maaaaybe stupidly fiddly inversion shenanigans, and even then...) is by doing him as one of those dolls that you transform by turning inside out. Trying to do a transfort
