1) Hot Rod is actually a new head/chest/arms retool of WWII Bumblebee. robot modes have more differences than you believe!

2) Brains and Wheelie are Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny! But that's ok.

3) I am excited for the Arcee triplets. That set looks like a lot of fun

I’m not a fan of them making exclusives part of the numbered system (I’m not sure why they do either, Star Wars black series doesn’t do that), but with that said I really like this Megatron! It’s so cool to see Transformers the Ride on a Studio Series box, It makes me think we could see an Evac repaint in studio series which would be neat.

I really like the color scheme too, I just wish they had included the ROTF gun/claw that he has on the ride. If I do end up at Universal again at some point, I think I’d pick this Megatron up.

I agree with the numbering, it's strange.

But i too hope he is there when i go back to Orlando studios sometime. I would totally grab him to go with Evac

Or colored as Chromia, in the case of Robot Heroes Chromia using Elita's base design. ;)

Technically, wouldn't that be a toy of Chromia and not a toy of Elita-1?

Yeah, but only because of its deco and name, when it was clearly sculpted to be Elita.

Oh snap, that is hilarious.

Look closely at the packaging and y'all will see that the official full name of this figure is "As Seen In Parks Megatron".

I'm not a fan of the movie Arcee sisters, although I'll probably get them since Arcee is one of my top ten favorites.

I would rather they'd gone with a voyager size set and incorporated the combiner mode that ended up not being used.

Now if you give me a Movie Arcee based on the Bumbleebee movie, I'll be right there at the front of the line for picking her up.

You feelin' lucky, Punk?

Honestly, they killed the movie 1 cast. Optimus, Ironhide, and Jazz are fantastic! Ratchet is OK, and we need to see how the new Bee does, but they did really good with the Bots

Seriously, this figure is really good. He is my 2nd favorite autobot after Jazz in this line

That's some high praise, I feel like a lot of people are missing out on some damn fine toys here just because of the looks

Oh most definitely. People hate the aesthetic or what it represents, but there are some damn good and unique toys in this line.

You could say that about a lot of lines too. I have recently discovered how much fun both Beast Wars and Unicron Trilogy figures are. There are some damn fun things in those lines. And this is the same, Studio Series has provided us with some great figures.

I would argue Studio Series has provided a better, more varied lineup than any other line recently. The number of movies and variety of designs covered and covered pretty damn well in most cases is great.

The hit ratio to duds as been fantastic with maybe 10%~ of the figures, might be less depending on view, being rubbish. Dropkick Helicopter mode comes to mind

All the studio constructicons have been pretty great! Long Haul is the weakest, but in no way bad. the other 3 are very strong though, love all 4 so far.

Devastator is a dream come true for me, I cannot wait for him!

Original was also during the RotF peak era of movie toys, and also didn't have to combine, as a leg supporting 6 other figures.

they are the same character but doing 2 very different things. It's like comparing universe Onslaught to combiner wars Onslaught. same character, 2 very different engineering goals and time periods

That is a very good point D-Max, it would have been interesting to see how this would have been achieved (without doing what the supreme Devesator did) back at that point, especially given the quality of other molds we got back then.

Sadly, I doubt Hasbro would have even tried making a fully-transformable-and-combinable large ROTF Devastator back then since Aaron Archer was so averse to the idea of making full-blown large-sized combiners, hence why...
A) The Energon combiners were smaller-scaled
B) Supreme Devastator was made the way it was
C) The Legends class Devastator was a Takara-initiative (and still a small-scale combiner)
D) The Power Core Combiners were small and had drone limbs
E) FOC Bruticus was such a halfhearted attempt at a larger-scaled combiner (consisting of only Deluxes, even), and
F) Combiner Wars didn't come about until after Warden and Friends succeeded Archer and Friends

Who knows? He was averse to a number of things, such as making new Headmasters and a new Sky Lynx, both of which we finally got after Warden's team took over.

In fact, TFWiki's GoBox for Archer's article jokingly says "NO!" instead of "GO". :P
