Ah so ramjet isn't an anomaly then as others are also "vanilla" :-) I wonder if they'll be new versions of them in later sets that have different stats? Assuming the game makes it that far of course

Probably. We already have two Optimus, two Bumblebee, two Megatron, two Starscream... We know we're gonna get a few of the same character just from the virtue of having a set list. But I think they might've hit the nail on the head for his character already, seeing as there's not too much to write home about him. XD

That is pretty much it. In the Starter set there is Optimus Prime // Autobot Leader but the booster has Optimus Prime // Battlefield Legend. This is done so they can reuse characters but also differentiate the cards and effects. They do this in a lot of card games, for instance in magic there are planeswalker characters that get different titles like Jace Beleren is featured on many different cards but they give him a different title. Jace The Mindsculptor does something very different from Jace, Memory Adept.

This also helps the company reuse characters in the case of set rotations if things wind up working out really well. I also wonder if they will make the cards from all the different shows, it would be cool to have some guys from TFA and TFP in their own art style. I'm probably jumping the gun here but there are so many posibilites here.

I like how they are using some of the Art from that "card game" app from a few years ago. I loved the art from that game (though the "3d" aspect was my favorite).

^ Apparently the man who was holding the card was an official of some sort who expressly asked that the photographer not take a photo of the stars at the bottom of Chop Shop, or leak the star count. Sad, but understandable.

Blurry images that shows us what Kup looks like since that's all he's good for.

I recently found out that the perosn who had the Chop Shop didn't actually mean to not show the stars, and a WOTC staff recently came out and said that the actual star count was 6. This makes Chop Shop actually quite good, indeed.

But now... More cards. MORE. MOAR.

So a dinobot deck and a insecticon deck...I'm sold on both :-P Can't wait to see how they handle combiners...and the eventual beast wars decks. The expansions are writing themselves.

I've gotta say that, while I don't plan to buy the game, the usage of the 'Deluxe Insecticons' is a very refreshing thing to see.

is there like a play you can do if you have all combiner team members to unite them? :-?

Last GenCon leaks/reveals. It'll be a skinny minute whilst the Wizards staff settles back into the swing of things, but I'm certain more leaks are on their way!

Anyway, here you go:

Image

Robot: "When this is attacking --> Flip extra battle cards equal to his [Defense]."

Tank: "When you flip to this mode --> Draw a card for each of your other Tanks."

This thicc boi is going to be so hard to remove from the field, and he's gonna hit even harder. With a Flamethrower, though, you'll be flipping around eight-ish cards a turn if you flip a white card.

Image

Image

I absolutely adore this art for Arcee. Prime Arcee is the best, and this combines Prime with G1 and I'm just =P~

Five points is nuts, and she hits like a dang truck. Hopefully other Motorcycles will be five points as well, and judging from Flamewar, we're just one more reveal from a pattern.

Hey, look, another great draw card!

Thanks for these #Sideways# I'll get a new post written up for them! It sure is nice though to see Armada and Prime getting some attention.

Just glad to do my part! I am following it very closely. It looks like a super fun game, despite some innate RNG.

And yeah, the world needs more Unicron Trilogy in its life. Whereas Prime is probably my favorite in terms of plotline and storytelling, UT had so much innovation in it.

(And not just because of my namesake. lol)

Arcee and Demolisher revealed for the Official Transformers Trading Card Game

Following on from the recent batches of card reveals from Gencon (Here and here!) We have the last few cards to be revealed at the gaming convention courtesy of fellow Seibertron user #Sideways#.

This time the reveal focuses on two different characters, Decepticon Demolisher and Autobot Arcee. We also have a look at a very useful looking upgrade card, that will certainly some play.

Demolisher:

Here's Demolisher's effect, for those who wish to know.
Bot mode: "When this is attacking --> Flip extra battle cards equal to his [Defense]."

Alt mode: "When you flip to this mode --> Draw a card for each of your other Tanks."

A very Prime looking Arcee (Bot mode):

A tad disappointed that there dosn't seem to be any original art so far, just reused from the legends card game.

Probably waiting to see how well it does before commissioning more art...

Plus there's a lot of good art there that is just going to waste so, may as well make use of it.

Fair, but keep in mind: It keeps costs down. Less upstart costs = Less money to make back, and when you have less overhead, it's easier to be greenlit for future expansions.

I thought it was weird that they used the WfC/FoC design of Demolisher. Then I was the Arcee. Some sort of mix of the IDW and Prime iterations.
