Why Bonecrusher?

Everyone knows the deal. New batches of toys come in, hot ones can bought, cold ones get left. Where I am there are huge batches of Bonecrusher and Wreckage and Swindle left.
Wreckage is a really cool bot in my opinion, looks equally good in both modes, and is one articulated mother. As far as I know, he's also the only bot besides Arcee not in the movie to have an automorph. I can understand people not warming up to him because he wasn't in the movie.
Swindle looks pretty dorky to me, and I can understand why no one would want to pay the same price as the rest for a robot that doesn't have automorph features and wasn't in the movie.
But I'm pretty amazed at BC though. Why is he warming the shelves? A few people suggest it's because he was in the movie for only a short time. Is that a fair dinkum reason why people aren't buying him up? Short time or not, he's one cool robot, looks like a mean sumbitch, steady to pose, well articulated. That short sequence with Prime was short, but I love it because it was dirty, brutal, and visceral, just like real fights I've seen or been in.
Any thoughts?

Well, maybe more are thinking like me, that he is too small and should have been a Voyager? I'm holding out in hopes of seeing a Voyager. With Leader Brawl, it will put the 'cons in much better shape, scale wise.

The same reason why Brawl is warming so many shelves where I'm at. He and Bonecrusher only got a few minutes of screen time before they were both wasted by the Autobots. Barricade and Blackout were bad-ass in the movie, and Starscream was as well. Scorpunok was a great movie TF, but as a toy, he sucks, which is also why there are plenty of him. Wreckage was not in the movie, and his sales suffer from it. I actually "sold" a guy on one the other day. He didn't know who he was, and I told him he's a pretty cool figure, and worth buying. He did.

overly produced + no demand. Only kidding.
Give it time. People are systematically being caught up in the hype.

Bonecrusher is the first figure I bought fr the movie line.I especially love the long arm and he doesn't topple down with a few adjusment at the lower leg even with the extended arm.

Problem is, besides he's my favourite, the practical fact is that if Hasbro doesn't see him bought, how likely are they going to decide on a Leader/ Voyager figure? It's the same story with why Lucasfilms weren't likely to bring out that long-awaited Star Wars 9 DVD set.

Personally it is a scale problem. I want them to bring back the ultra size range and put Bonecrusher and Starscream in there. At least have them close if not quite perfectly in scale.
Though I'm sure for the kiddies it is all about the heroic Autobots. Sure you want the bad guys to fight with, but if mom says you can only have one who are you going to get? BB or Bonecrusher? Not much of a choice.

i've almost bought him several times. a few days ago i went all around looking for a 2008 bumblebee and not finding one but thinking maybe i should just grab a bonecrusher while i'm there. i head to the checkout but the line is ridiculous so i leave it and head out to a wal mart and look at it for a good while then decide to just wait for a bigger version. then i skip over to a tru and think i'm going to buy him this time. no nothing there. yesterday i went to a target on the way home only to find it also not having a bonecrusher when normally it had them in troves.
so now i'm looking at my shelf sans a bumblebee, brawl and bonecrusher and i'm thinking.... would hasbro make a bigger one even if i don't pitch in and show support for the character? do they care? i'm getting a leader class brawl and eventually a 2008 bumblebee for sure but if they make a bigger bonecrusher, i'm throwing out the smaller one.

Swindle does actually have an Automorph. It's not much of one, but it is there. His head assembly is spring loaded. When you pull down on the hood of the car, the head swings around.
Plus he's in the game, this is why he was made. To help cash in on the game.
I own him, not a bad figure. I can't wait to buy the other drones. Still...I have no want, or need for Dreadwing or Arcee. At all.

I think it depends on where you live. I had a hard time getting Bonecrusher and have only seen a few since I got mine. The only figure not moving in my area is Scorponok. Here are how the deluxes break down in my area as far as sale (least popular to hard to find)
1. Scoroponok
2. Jazz
3. Wreckage
4. Brawl
5. Swindle
6. Barricade
7. Bumblebee

Well over here pretty much they have everything of Deluxe and Voyager... just not so much Leaders. I think Leaders are selling like hot cakes, the Deluxes are going ok, they Voyager are doing better though. I guess its size, and length time in the movie, especially for people who just became fans.

Yeah Swindle is the shelf warmer number 1 here at the moment, picked him up the other day, great figure, it might just be cause he's not in the movie, mind you a lot of the other non-movie figures have gone (the real gear stuff and the Scouts), so maybe its because of his head?
And he does have an Automorph, well sort of, when you move the top of the car down his head section flips round, so maybe not an Automorph as such, but its still cool.

Not the new stuff, I mean all wave 1 stuff that can be hard to find sometimes specifically when you want a certain toy. Like when I wanted the Deluxe 1974 Bumblebee, I had to search in all 3 stores, Big W, K-Mart and Target. This was when they very first stocked up all the Movie Toys, so they sold fast, and Target was the lucky store so thanks to Target
But now the 3 stores have restocked again, I hope they get new stock in too...

Yeah it's the same at the stores around my area too. Bonecrusher and Swindle are the only 2 you can really find right now (I'm so glad I got the ones I really wanted before the movie hit). Now as far as voyagers go, Ratchet is the only one I can find. They still had a couple of Leader Primes the other day as well.

I can't find Bonecrusher, anywhere. The closest I've come is the odd Swindle on the pegs, mocking me. The only store close to me that carries TFs is a wal-mart, and they haven't got that wave in. They're drowning in a sea of Barricades.
I finally broke down, and ordered BC online.

Here I'd say the easiest to find to the hardest to find are:
1. Wreckage (Sad because he is such a great figure)
2. Bonecrusher (I have a boxed one in my car... I'm considering taking him back in case they bring out a voyager)
3. Swindle (He is odd... I hate to say it but that head is probably what Shockwave is going to look like lol)
4. Brawl (Same thing as Bonecrusher only I want to see leader class)
5. Jazz (I have an Alternator... Thats all I need)
6. Barricade (Hard to come by, but findable)
7. Arcee (Where they have restocked she's easy to find)
8. Dreadwing (Again you can find at least one of these easily at places where they restocked)
9. Bumblebee I have been to so many Targets, K-Marts, Wal-Marts and TRUs and I have only seen 1 of these, might have been another but I don't think so...)
10. Bumblebee '08 (Impossible to find)

Yea at first all these figures were easy to find before the movie had came out. Now they are selling like hotcakes i had to search my walmart toy section to find the last Barricade. He was not even on the hanger thing lucky i saw him he was by some other toy. I had a hard time with Starscream as well. However i am very happy because i got my 08 BB and Arcee

My local Zellers has plenty of 08 Bumblebee. They have more 08's then 74's at the moment.

Problem with Bonecrusher and Brawl is SIZE. They are too small.
I'm going to buy Leader Brawl and Voyager Bonecrusher.
Anyway, the real shelf-warmer in our area are Protoform Prime and Protoform Starscream. You have find them practically everywhere in herds.
You usually have to dig into a sea of Protoforms to be able to find one or two other Deluxe figures.

Shelf-warmers, practically non-moving stocks:
Protoform Prime
Protoform Starscream
Slow-moving items: (starting from slowest)
Wreckage
Swindle
Scorponok
(Tiny) Brawl
(Tiny) Bonecrusher
Average Joe: (balanced supply and demand)
Ironhide
Starscream
Hotcakes, they disappear the moment they set foot on the shelves: (equal footing)
Bumblebee 08
Arcee
Barricade
Hard-to-find:
Jazz
Blackout
Prime
Megatron
Bumblebee 74
Impossible to find:
Ratchet
Everybody's waiting for:
Leader Brawl
Voyager (or Leader?) Bonecrusher

In my opinion...
...Bonecrusher is hideous.
I just find his robot mode extremely ugly. Both the toy and the movie art, his robot mode looks like a walking trashpile with super-long arms, to me.

it really is a shame when 2 friggin huge decepticons are smaller than jazz. i can only imagine if i were to set bonecrusher and brawl against my leader prime, the ridiculous setup and pose would evoke "your attacks are like the buzzing of flies to me."
