Voyager Megatron in G1 Form?

Hey Everyone,
I'm new here. I personally own and love my Takara/Tomy Voyager MP-28 Hot Rodimus, and my Kubianbao MP10-V Optimus Prime. They work well together.

But what I really need is a Voyager class Megatron in the G1 form. From my research nothing exists yet. Love the Masterpiece Mp-36 Megatron, and so wish there was a Voyager version.

Anybody know of a Voyager Megatron?

Jordan

The only thing of the sort, in a realistic gun form, is Toyworld's Hegemon.

There are no official options for a G1 voyager gun Megatron.

The Henkei and United versions are voyager sized, but use a futuristic gun mode. The Titans Return version is a tank/plane triple changer.

Oye, a fellow Dutchie? Welkom! :x

The chances of a Megatron as a toy of a realistic firearm are pretty much non-existent because of the gun laws here in the US. Such toys are outlawed (much like they are in the Netherlands), since the 1990's, but Hasbro did manage to circumvent the laws with him twice:

Classics Megatron

Left: Hasbro Classics, Right: TakaraTomy Henkei

That one is based on a NERF gun, a brand which Hasbro owns. The Classics colors are a law requirement (ironically they would no longer do nowadays), but TakaraTomy in Japan where the laws are more relaxed is free to use normal "gun colors". The next United version, again from TakaraTomy eliminates a lot of the red from the Henkei version, but the most recent Hasbro version brought it back in full force:

That one's part of the Platinum Series "One Shall Stand, One Shall Fall" set, based on a scene in the 1986 Movie. Just take our word for it :P

The next toy circumvents the law due to his size:

2010 Line Legends Class Megatron (aka Reveal the Shield Megatron)

He's TINY, like 3 inches or 8 cm tiny. He fits in the hand of the first Masterpiece Starscream (MP-3)! Nothing else to add to that, except the Japanese versions do away with the orange tip, another US law requirement.

All his other toys have been tanks, jets, trucks, cars, you name it (he may be the most versatile TF character ever!), but no longer a gun. If you want a gun Megatron of a decent size, you'd have to turn to TakaraTomy's Masterpieces, or so-called "Third Parties" who make figures based on Transformers without being explicitly called such (copyrights, you know?). We have a special section for those:

Unlicensed and KO Transformers Toys

Good luck on your hunt!

Don't forget Shoes, Hats, Video Game consoles and Bears among other more esoteric alt modes.

Thanks for the help guys! I’d say the Hegemon is the closest to the G1 Megatton, but not great. Here’s hoping Takara or Kubianbao sell a voyager masterpiece with the orange plug at some point.

Mind you, the reason Japan doesn't restrict toy guns is because of how heavily they restrict real. They also have more civilized cops IMO.

Didn't know Hegemon was Voyager-size, I thought he was a pseudo-MP like so many 3P figures are.

I think Hasbro could get away with at least sticking close to Megatron's G1 design and transformation layout if they were to make him turn into a raygun. The kind with a closed sphere for a muzzle and disks on a rod instead of a barrel.

Would be a lot harder as one of megs classic elements is the fusion cannon on his arm which in most versions looks the same, even if it's formed differently. I think it's time to just accept that officially on the hasbro side, that megs will never be a gun again (I'm open to be proved wrong on this hasbro if you somehow read this) no big deal though. The robot to gun made sense for microchange, not so much for giant robots

Given that on both the G1 and Classics toys the fusion cannon is formed from the scope, I don't see how replacing the actual gunbarrel with a raygun head would cause a problem.

I'm not saying I want a handgun mode for future continuities' incarnations of Megatron, of course. It'd just be nice if Hasbro could figure out a way to get away with it for a Generations Voyager Megs. Or at the very least give him transformation engineering close to the original toy's.

But then you would get plenty of people complaining about it not being a handgun, and the fact that they make a toy gun of any type in this current climate.

Basically, hasbro can't win, so it travels the path of least resistance, which is no gun mode. What perhaps is best isuited if you could get a voyager megs robot mode that looks exactly like G1 megs but is of course a tank. It would be very tough so maybe the realm of the third party

Combiner Wars Megatron looks like G1 Megatron but does not turn into a gun, it transforms into a tank. Titans Return Megatron looks less so but I like it.

The Combiner Wars Megatron is decent for sure, but MP scaled and not Voyager.

FWIW, Maketoys do a very nice unofficial Megatron by the name of Rioter Despotron. Granted he turns more into a sort of alien sawn-off shotgun, and he's quite stylized, but he's a very good toy.
