Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that.
Sarblade is right about if both of these Optimuses were full plastics, they would feel like Cyberverse toys.

So this make me think. What if some Cyberverse Ultra and Warriors would have some parts swapped for diecast and the cars had rubber tires? Would they feel like classic G1? :-?

Yea I had never heard great things either. And man makes me hate myself more for wanting one still. It's just a character missing from my collection. I have neither Prime nor RID Rather (which is the same guy). At least I have the Legion class one, which is a great toy.

Moving on, I have a question for you guys. I have been playing a lot with my 3 year old and the two toy lines he likes best are G1 and Cyberverse for the exact same reason: they are easy to transform. And they are easy for the same reason too, they both lack a lot of articulation points, meaning that folding arms away and the like is much easier. You'll always end up at the right angles to lock in certain elements on the first try making the transformation much easier (even though there may not necessarily be less steps).

This further reinforced my idea that Cyberverse truly is a G1 redo. Both the show and the toys and the way the toys are rereleased and how how the same chracter could appear again in a toyline but with a different gimick (like in G1). Both lines just have a lot of paralels. And both lines are really just for kids with not a rat's butt given to appeal to any higher age group. The scale is all over the place too, like with G1. Oh and its the same characters with similar designs. I just see a ton of similarities.

My only worry about writing such an article is that some fans might feel triggered. Do you see that happening?

Actually, the characters is where there's a bit of a difference between G1 and Cyberverse. Re-releasing characters was something G1 did not do on a huge scale, in fact G1 was quite shy about that until the Action Masters. True, the ones re-released did have gimmicks (pull-back motor for Goldbug, Powermaster for Optimus Prime, and Pretender Shells for Bumblebee, Jazz, Grimlock and Starscream), but that's more finding a gimmick line to fit them in and less finding a gimmick to use on them

I meant re-releasing toys. The Seekers kept being rereleased in the 80s, hence those varying fist numbers. Optimus was rereleased, the minibots too. There was a lot of re-releasing going on.

Sabrblade wrote:I feel like the G1 comparison for Cyberverse would be more comparable for more people if the G1 molds had never used diecast or rubber, and had always been all-plastic, in the first place.

Just imagine how different the G1 Optimus mold would have felt if it had been a completely plastic truck with no diecast or rubber tires. It'd probably feel a lot closer to some of the Cyberverse Optimus toys, or even Optimus toys of the Cyber Series or Authentics lines.

That reminds me of how the Hasbro release of G1 predaking didn't have diecast, unlike the Takara version.

Cheetor is looking pretty good. Kingdom cheetah mode looks better, but I like the fact that they almost perfectly nailed his stylized look with this toy. Looking forward to it!

We had posted some in hand images a while back but in case anyone also wanted to see a video review of thi toy before purchasing it, here is one from fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:The Deluxe Cheetor from Bumblebee Cyberverse Adventures is a great figure, much better than the Kingdom Deluxe. Transformation is relatively simple, although the instructions could be a little more clear on where things tab and my copy needed a little more force than I felt comfortable with. The animation likeness is very good too making Cheetor a solid addition to the line, and your collection.

Cyberverse News Roundup with lots of new Images of Ultra Ramjet and some of Warrior Snarl

Slowly but surely, more Transformers stock is coming into the US from all lines to fill in the shelves, as some fans have been showing online (fun example at the end of this article). The latest wave of ultra class figures from Cyberverse's Dinobots Unite subline (this year's Cyberverse line) is now hitting Targets. TF fan Ahchu found this wave at a Target in California. It consists of the new Ramet figure and a repack of Skullcruncher and Bumbelbee. Along with this sighting we have a lot of images of this figure to share which were posted on Instagram. The images give us a good look at this figure which, while simple, has a real presence on a shelf with his bulky cartoon look and expressive headsculpt. He also has an eagle themed energon armour gimmick.

You can also order this toy on Amazon.com for 20.99, and that listings offers us some official images.

In other Cyberverse news, we have images of the warrior class Diobot Snarl from the Walmart app. While some assembly is required at first, it seems we don't have images of what his robot mode will look like fully assembled. Which is too bad since he seems like the G1 toy put through a Cyberverse filter, with tons of callbacks to the original figure design.

Snarl really reminds me of his Actionmaster toy.

I wonder if Ramjet's armour is a nod to the G1 episode "A Decepticon Raider in King Arthur's Court" where he, Starscream, Rumble and Ranage travelled back in time?

You and me both. So far, purchase of the new Cyberverse Dinobots that have been shown recently (Sludge, Slag and now Snarl) is a must. Heck....I may even eat my previous words and go for the Volcanicus "combiner" if I happen upon him.

However, I'm kinda disappointed that they channeled a lot of Bayverse Strafe into the new Swoop (based on the box art I've seen so far). But I may still get him too.

Windsweeper wrote:Snarl really reminds me of his Actionmaster toy.

Yeeeaaah...I am seeing this resemblance as well. I think the absence of the tail split over his shoulders as it usually is portrayed helps give that impression.

Slug is a deluxe.
Snarl is a Warrior
Swoop so far is only a crash combiner type dude.
Sludge is an Ultra.
Grimlock can basically be represented by every class, but the deluxe did get re-released alongside cheetor.

Speaking of Cheetor, I found him this week, and he has been a joy. Cheetah mode is not that good, Kingdom definitely wins that round, but the Robot mode to me pretty closely captures the aesthetic and the animated-esque proportions of him in the show. He's lots of fun

Wow...that robot mode really is amazing! :D

I've seen pics of his cheetah mode, and I fully agree...not so much.

Video review for Cyberverse Ultra Class Ramjet

Fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 has a new review for us. This time for Cyberverse Ultra Class Ramjet, which you can see below.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:One of the great things about the Cyberverse line is how it pulls from all generations of Transformers. Ramjet really embodies all of the Conehead Seekers with its colors and design. For an Ultra Class figure, Ramjet comes fairly loaded with accessories, two null rays, and a staff-like weapon made from its thrusters. One negative to the figure is the Energon armor doesn't like to sit in place, but that could just be on my figure. Ramjet is one of the better Ultra Class figures and would be a great addition to your Cyberverse collection.

Big Bad Toy Store has not always kept up with the Cyberverse line but with new fan interest, especially due to the Dinobot centric line now giving us G1 homages, they are carrying some toys which may interest you. They have a preorder for the non combining Volcanicus figure and they also have Ultra Sludge which is shipping now. Hasbro Toy Shop and Amazon both have warrior class Snarl that can be ordered now as well.

Snarl is pretty neat. Bit limited as expected, but he looks neat, and the Stego mode is definitely cool. I will call this guy Action Master Snarl from here on out.

Ramjet is really inhibited by all his kibble. He looks cool, but is unnecessarily limited

Video Review of Transformers Cyberverse Ultra Class Sludge

Fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 has a review of Transformers Cyberverse Ultra Class Sludge for us. Some fans were looking forward to this release for their Dinobots collection and have the Cyberverse version of the Dinobots on their shelf. So now we can see how this toy fared.

chuckdawg1999 wrote:I'd love to say that Sludge is a good figure, but that wouldn't be true. The paint detail is really nice, I dig that metallic blue, the backplate for the Energon armor gimmick won't lock into place making it hard to handle the figure while most of the limb joints are very loose. I have to say wait for a sale or pass on Sludge entirely.

Was able to get that deluxe cheetor I was looking forward to and well, yeah not great. Really don't like how the tail can't fold up higher in robot mode, and that alt mode is just not good.
