@Cobo that is perfection personified. Kudos my good sir, kudos!
@Nem Primal what do you find wrong with the Earthrise seeker mold then?

Wouldn't mind if cyberverse influences the conehead molds and they are a bit beefier and brutish in robot mode if they ever did tetra jet versions.

I'll go for the likely unpopular opinion of of Soundwave being one of the weakest of the line, his alt really doesmt work (unless the lamp post is his true alt) with his thruster things being a floppy mess that often don't stay in place. Robot mode, the finger designed to look like hes pressing his button (cool) but then he has so much guff under his forearms (kind of like classics hotrod except it doesnt even have a gimmick) which means posing the hands looks better if they are not raised, especially not pressing the button, Slide out hands as per the G1 toy would have hid the hollows and allowed for rotation/joint too. Even his tapes are a bit lacklustre. Soundwave looks good in robot mode but he has more flaws than most of the others, even megatron (and I'm really not a fan of most of the carbots/not even buying them *has barricade/redalert). Artic megs may get transformed a few times, but poor old soundwave gets to stay in one form and with his hands rather stationary.

See, I'm a weirdo and never liked the Classics Seeker mold for multiple reasons, so the fact that we're getting basically an upscaled version of it right after we just got a great Voyager Seeker mold really bothers me, not to mention it's the third Voyager Screamer in a row between PotP, Siege, and now Earthrise (I know the PotP one was bad, but it still exists). I think my issues with the Classics mold mainly stem from it being TOO G1 accurate. It's overly blocky, I can see exactly how it transforms without ever owning a copy of the figure, it's got unsightly kibble like an entire jet nosecone jutting out off the back and tailfins stapled to the sides of his feet, and compared to the excellent Siege mold it has worse articulation because it's missing a waist swivel for the sake of it's simple transformation. The arms also looked useless on the Classics mold, at least the Earthrise version looks to fix that. That's why the only way I can see myself buying this is when it gets retooled for Coneheads like we all expect and I can buy it as Ramjet, as that retooling will help with at least some of my complaints and it will be a character I don't have rather than just another Starscream.

That's also a main reason why I'm so tentative and ambivalent towards Earthrise right now, they did the same thing Siege did where the initial reveal didn't immediately get me on board, only a few figures appealed to me (in this case Wheeljack, Ironworks, Soundbarrier, and undecided on Grapple), but now the figures are lacking the unique Cybertronian/"Cybertronian" altmodes and styling that drew me towards getting some figures I probably wouldn't have otherwise and that I thought would be the whole POINT of the trilogy, AND they're overlapping with characters who just got Siege updates when I didn't even agree with every character chosen to get Siege figures to begin with. I could end up being wrong, I'd LIKE to be wrong, Siege won me over and now I'm sad to leave it, but right now it ain't looking too hot.

Agreed. It has been a long time since I was interested in a non-Collectors line of Transformers. SIEGE, via the Decepticons only, was piquing my interest. Especially in light of Scorponok being released next year, I was intrigued to see what kind of line he would be a part of (as tenuous a link as the other City Bots had to Generations and TR respectively). Then, as soon as they said it was earth-based, my interest in anything other than Scorponok, evaporated instantly.

Personally, my main issue with Earthrise isn't the lack of Cybertronian modes. I'm glad some characters are getting new versions like Wheeljack and Cliffjumper. I'm just disappointed that it doesn't really feel like it should follow right after Siege. Like, as far as we know, battle damage is gone, as are Cybertronian alt modes, and the only real carry-overs are the new connectors, a group of partsformers, and Astrotrain and Smashdown in new packaging.

But, hopefully the third part will be like POTP and bring all the ideas from the trilogy together and make an awesome line of Cybertronian and Earth alt modes, bases, blast effects, and weaponizers ;)^

Exactly. Honestly I was hoping Earth wasn't going to be a part of The War For Cybertron Trilogy at all. Something in the name, perhaps?

I had wanted a sort of spiritual successor to the Fall of Cybertron. HasTak's modern take on it. SIEGE looked like that was going to be the case, but the War seems to have jumped past Cybertron way too soon.

To be fair, Hasbro always said that Siege took place in the final days of Cybertron, so I think we knew that earth would appear. I though battle damage had been seen on some of the images?

Thanks for the explanation Nem Primal :)

If not in the second line, then in the third line with the second instead being about the voyage to Earth through space.

Though, with Earthrise now being the name of the second line, perhaps the preliminary name of "Armageddon" is being reserved for the third line when Planet Class Unicron gets released in 2021.

I imagine Siege succeeded beyond their expectations. Regular fans are happy, some fans have come back after years of being away, so much potential to start fresh.

After the last series they mapped this new one out much more thoroughly with a clearer plan of where they’ll end up. With that in mind I’m sure Earthrise will have it’s win-over moments just like Siege did with tons of surprises we’re not even expecting.

It just seems like a lukewarm start compared to how blown away we’ve been on a regular basis since Siege warmed up and got going.

My goblet of speculation runneth over.

On a slightly different note, I cannot wait to get Omega at some point. Seeing all the images of his base mode, That is the mode i am most excited for. That rocket is HUGE, and the race track fits up perfectly for Micromaster races (and legion class races too).

Just wanted to say that, he looks really good

Agreed!

With this Siege version's track being a more perfect circle he reminds me of Navitas. Put some wheels on him and he's just a roving racetrack of a city

I know a lot of people have been posting about either how small or how expensive this Astrotrain is but sweet Jesus I can't wait for my preorder to ship. Siege figures are solid with very nice articulation. As someone late to the game and spent scalper money on some Titans Return deluxes, this is a good deal to me ;)^
