Mirage is at least a unique purple and pale blue color scheme and could readily be repurposed as a separate character if desired.

-Kanrabat- wrote:The "Not for us" argument is a bit moot considering how much more expensive those Netflixformers are compared to normal releases. Like for Megatron, the normal Voyager is 40$can but the Netflix edition is 60$can. A targetmaster is normally 8$can.
About that. I can see a bit of a gap in your logic there.

It's this.
Recall that he comes with not one, but TWO Battle Masters.

-Kanrabat- wrote:So that's 12$can in extra charge.
So you're wrong here.

40 + 8 + 8 = 56, so the extra charge only amounts to 4$can. Which is probably accounted for by the metallic paintjob on Megs.

I may be entirely too amused by that clip.

Might still be right about this part though.

Zelda no need to overkill it with your "you're wrong" posts.

So the overcharges would "only" be 4$. So what? That's still a overcharge. Normally with box set of multiple figures, it's supposed to be a deal. Buying the box set should be more worth it than buying figures separately. For example the rainmaker box set is 100$can normally and the voyagers are 40$can normally. So that's 20$can saved if you buy the set full price. So just imagine if the box set would have gone "full Netflix" and cost 140$can. Not sure if the box set would have as much success as it had.

And no, paint is not an excuse because the SS Damaged Megatron, 07 Megatron, Leader Grimlock and Shockwave were all painted to the gills and were the same price as the rest.

I just think that clip is funny...

I think I'll go back to just posting pictures and papercraft resources... I can at least do those without failing.

I think it's just cuz Hasbro likes rounding to the nearest number ending in 0 a lot of the time when it comes to multipacks like this. Whether that's rounding down, like with the US price for these Netflix Voyagers ($40, when individually it'd be $30+$6+$6=$42) or rounding up (like with the US price for the Siege Amazon Skywarp and Sideswipe/Slamdance packs, which were both $50, when individually they'd be $30+$6+$6+$6=$48 and $20+$20+$6=$46 respectively).

Hasbro just likes these to be rounded to multiples of ten. Sometimes that means we pay less than the sum of its parts, sometimes it means we pay more.

I put together the background pieces that come with the new deluxes, and this is what I got. There are still four unused connection points. Looks like there are more toys on the way!

We already know that there are two waves of these with five more Deluxes coming, we just don't know who. ;) The last five should include two floor pieces, a back wall, and two back corner walls.

Instead of battle damaged repaints I wish they had followed Scrapface's and Mirage's lead and either do repaints or new characters with the other three. I'm thinking Tigertracks, Titan Hunter Chromia (deco only, not in name), and either Detritus, Ironfist, or Rollbar (in Alternators orange as his own characters, maybe a new name). Do we know if Scrapface is even in the cartoon?

Are they guarenteed deluxes? Cause I'd be surprised if we didn't get an Optimus. Detritus would be an amazing figure to see, though if we do see him, I'd want to see the gimmick that Doubledealer has where he can "swap sides". Or give the Mercs a unique faction symbol design

That literally derails the entire point of the line, this is the Netflix line based off the characters in the show, there is most certainly no Tigertracks or Ironfist in the show itself so why would this line ever use them?

If Decepticon Disguise Mirage (confirmed somewhere that this is only a disguise for Mirage) is in the line then there is a likely purpose to it in the show which probably has to do with the subplot of recruiting Impactor to the Autobots, if Scrapface is in the line over Refraktor who themselves are in the show then I'm sure Scrapface is in the show as well because it wouldn't make sense to make up a whole new character with a new Deco if they had nothing to do with the Netflix show.

The first wave was 1 leader, 2 voyagers and 5 deluxes. The second wave will be 5 deluxes for sure to complete teletran, and likely 2 more voyagers and another leader.

It's unlikely they'll give us new molds just for the show, and we already got Scrapface, so which other Cons could they use? Brunt and Barricade are the only deluxe Cons besides Refraktor, right? Or maybe they can take the Autobot molds and make Cons out of them. Impactor is a good candidate for a Con.

If we just look at the characters in the trailer with Siege figures that haven't been used yet there's Cog, Cog in Six-Gun's colors, Barricade, Skytread, and Decepticon Impactor. That's quite a few options there, plus I'm thinking we'll likely get Ironhide or at least use of his mold.

I think that red and gray Cog probably has a good chance of becoming a figure. We should probably get an Autobot Impactor with the IDW/Amazon head even if he uses the retail head in the cartoon.

^On the one hand, that recolored Cog (who I wouldn't say is full Six-Gun colors since the chest looks silver rather than white) could just be a throwaway recolor generic. On the other hand, it could also be a SIEGE version of Grand Max's Cog:

You're forgetting Skytread. Also, about Barricade...
Rodimus Prime wrote:Or maybe they can take the Autobot molds and make Cons out of them.
Barricade is already an example of this. :P And it is what I mainly had in mind (although I wouldn't say no to a Flash Sentry, a Brownie redeco of Refraktor, or Brunt in a bluer and slightly lighter purple and sporting green spots).
Rodimus Prime wrote:Impactor is a good candidate for a Con.
Indeed, although really you could use any of 'em. Hound has an obvious pick: Detritus, contracted by the 'Cons. They could also do Metroshot. That would be nice, give the 'Cons another Weaponizer.

Got my hotlink yesterday from rodimus prime; I can't believe that I'm saying this, but I really like his dirtier paint job, like, it makes me think that whatever he's using in his flamethrowers is also damaging him by proximity leading to the blacks and altered purples :michaelbay:

Yeah, I prefer the "extra tasty crispy" battle damage to the "cybertronian bird poop" battle damage.

I'm actually thinking that wave 2 might also include some Earthrise molds. Specifically I'm guessing Leader Earthrise Prime in a "burnt to a crisp" redeco.

D'ohohoho! Well, that's pretty much it.

Still, about that Sideswipe...

I don't think you live in a snowy area because you'd know about the bane of de-icing salt and dirt that get stuck and gnaw away at your car. What you see stuck on the car above is NOT snow. It's pure powdered highly corrosive and abrasive minerals. Often, it can get browner and darker than this. Disgusting stuff.

Sixgun-colored Cog would certainly be a more interesting repaint than "Some of the main Siege shelfwarmers but dirty", at the very least. Detritus would also be interesting and welcome, and I have a mighty need for a Tetrajet Sunstorm figure, but other than that, I can't think of any explicit repaint characters who could be done from Siege molds that I actually think Hasbro would put in this line (barring more Seekers I guess), so I'm just hoping for more surprises like Decepticon Mirage.

It also depends on who is in the show I would imagine, if this wasn't a Netflix show line based on the cast in that show I would imagine most of these repaints would instead be "new" characters like Hound being Detritus.

So I just picked up the deluxe line of Siege Netflix minus Chromia, who wasn't there. I've not opened them yet, as I'm weighing what I want to do with them. Sideswipe and Hound, especially. Scrapeface is a keeper, and Mirage is likely to be one as I can pretend he's somebody else.

I know a lot of people don't like the dirt, but honestly it looks pretty good in hand. The other thing is, Hound has no dirt, but he has worn gold on his hood/chest. I need to do a comparison against the Siege version to see how that plays out. Should I decide to keep him, I'll give the OG Hound to my son. I'm torn on Sideswipe. I may give the Netflix one to my kid minus the weapon since he hasn't been keeping up with them all that well. I don't know. Decisions, decisions.

There were no Voyagers or price stickers for them, so I didn't miss them, but I probably would have bought them and only Scrapface if I had the choice.

I definitely don't want to be buying these guys just for the Teletraan-1 backdrop, but I'm an addict.
