Not I. Saix found the Tweet and did all that work himself.

o.supreme wrote:Anyway, that is pretty cool. Of course I've been calling him Violenjiger for so long (also it doesn't help that I think of one of Gamera's foes (Named Jiger). I'll probably still call him that, although I recognize and respect the creators official translation/pronunciation....
It's still pronounced the same, at least. Now we just finally know what it all means. :D

o.supreme wrote:and all this a little more than 6 months after Viz officially translates that name in the English version of the Transformers Manga volume 3. . Now I feel like I've got my own "Revenge of the Jedi" poster. I mean I don't know what VIz' track record is of going back and correcting things if any of their manga is reprinted to correct translation errors, but it's still kind of neat.
Yeah, it's a shame this discovery wasn't known about sooner. Kaneda made the Tweet back on February 28, 2019, but Viz used the longstanding fan spelling in their translation since they didn't know about the Tweet.

It seems that the translator prioritized names in the manga like so: Hasbro names first, then packaging Romanizations for those who lack Hasbro names, and then fan Romanizations for those who lack either. Violengiguar happened to fall into the latter category, being a non-toy Japanese-original character.

I actually prefer the US Crosshairs head. And I like the siege figure, it's pretty neat

Crosshairs' cartoon head was also on one toy concept art, seems to have been the originally-intended head. Someone evidently vetoed it late in the original toy's development in favor of a humanlike face.

Anyone else done this shield?

Shield? Look more like carrying luggage!

I still think the tender thing could have been scrapped for an increased parts counts for this Astrotrain.

And I still say it couldn't have, because the tender - which gives the Decepticons something quasi-comparable to ER Optimus' trailer - was probably a significant part of the impetus for doing his aft in the first place. And the extra bits from the Leader pricepoint had to be able to become something in altmode.
Also, IMO the robot mode didn't need a higher piece count so much as it needed its pieces to convert differently. And maybe to abandon having full-length feet, because those seem to have factored a fair bit into the shift of the collapse points compared to the original toy, which is what messed up the shuttle mode aft and caused the gauge thing you hate so much.

It works as a shield better than it does a backpack.

Did we ever get the other half of the Race Car Patrol and the Air Strike Patrol in either Siege or Earthrise?

Have any of you attempted to remove Megatron's tank treads from his back for customizing? If so, what's the best way to try it?

Can't tell for the Micromasters, but why do this for Megatron? What altmode would you give him? I do hope you plan to customize the normal "unpainted" version at least. :-?

The short answer is no. Nightflight from ASP was in the Target 10-pack, though it uses the Visper mold, which isn't a great likeness. I think a few of the teams ended up with 3 of the 4 G1 characters, but I don't think any had all 4, though I could be wrong.

Edit: that's definitely wrong, the Decepticon Race Track patrol was complete. I'll need to look up the others now.

Figures. I wish we could gave gotten all of them, either in 2 2-packs or a 4-pack like they were originally released, even if they were exclusives.

-Kanrabat-, as for Megatron, I severely dislike this tank mode, it only works well enough on the G2 version for me. And having the tank treads on the back make him top heavy. So I want to take them off so in robot mode his upper body looks cleaner and more like his G1 self. He will never be in tank mode anyway, as I like to display my figures in robot mode, except for a select few.

Might as well just get a RED Megatron. Still, there is a way to give him an altmode that would be original. His back is hollow enough so there's a possibility to hide kibble in there.

How about turning that Megs into Driller/Gladiator Megs from IDW? There's even Reprolabels to help out.

That's my plan for the Megatron that comes with Skellivore. And I'm trying to decide what to do with the 35th anniversary version, if I should sell it or open it and put it on my movie shelf. I actually really like this Megatron mold in robot mode, except for the treads. Otherwise it's near flawless.

I'm planning to paint my Siege Megatron's head black for Marvel Megatron, just like David Willis did. I would use 35th anniversary for that, but I didn't get that version.

I want to keep one of the Netflix versions intact as IDW2/Netflix Megatron, I don't know what I should do with the other.

Well if you want him to be Marvel accurate, you'd have to paint his lower torso red as well, and probably parts of his legs a different color too.

The ribs are easy enough, but I wouldn't mess with the legs. I don't need a perfect likeness, and he doesn't turn into a handgun anyway.

In the last week, I've been able to secure Ratchet and Ironhide, out of the packaging but complete, for decent prices. $61 for Ratchet and $55 for Ironhide. Still a overpay for deluxes, but considering the prices for Ratchet that I've seen have been $90 and up, and $75 and up for Ironhide, I figured I'd jump on these decently priced ones while they were there. Excited to add them to the Siege lineup.

I'm sure this has been discussed repeatedly, but I don't feel like searching through 620 pages, so I'll ask here. Is it easy to remove the "battle damage" from the Siege figures? If so, what tools and/or cleaning agents should I use? This also applies to Kingdom Galvatron, but the Siege figures are the real offenders.

Aside from tools and cleaning agent, you will also want to make sure whether the base color is plastic or paint for the part you want to remove the damage. Case in point, Siege Sideswipe's chest is red plastic painted red. I believe someone wanted to remove the off centered autobot symbol and found out the hard way when it stripped both the symbol and the red base coat.

So I haven't seen this announced anywhere, but anyone who missed out on the Hasbro Pulse exclusive Reflector 3-pack is in luck as it looks like it is getting another run. Both Gamestop and Entertainment Earth have them up for pre-order due in November/December.

I keep resisting picking this up, because I bought three of the base figure, and the only thing I want from the box are the accessories. In particular, the shoulder pieces that form the top of the camera.

I thought this was up a while back. Both this set and the earthrise skywarp/TC 2 pack. Unless this is the third/fourth release of this set.

Not sure, I think this is more recent. The Siege Rainmakers are also apparently getting another run.

Ok then yeah it is what I was referring to. There have been listings for this popping up all year and they have been in our weekly newsletters from various online stores. TF Source had their listing up in february for instance

Hey all, I was just wondering, with Hound being one of the weaker Siege toys, was the consensus that he was still better than the Universe one? I personally preferred the Universe toy's transformation. Both don't look great from the waist down though.
