I dont think it matters though, I am suprised the alt mode is even being put to question in a line where the intent is that the alt modes are new and not supposed to be G1 while the robot modes remain very imbedded within the traditional G1 design.

Not to mention the fact that literally everything about the toy just screams “Hound”!

Green? Check
Rugged? Check
Wheels with tires? Check
Big engine block? Check

Now if the alt-mode had been, say, some sort of flying disc, I’d understand.

Well, it's not like it should, since there wouldn't have been Jeeps on Cybertron four million years before they were invented on Earth.

I was kinda thinking that the white stars are way too Earth military for a Cybertronian. Those emblems would have been something he picked up after scanning the Jeep he scanned.

Soundwave has light piping? Has light piping returned!?!? If so, color me extremely happy. Light piping is one of the coolest features of Transformers toys in my opinion.

Deciphering Website for Special Codes on Siege Packaging Now Available

If you're wondering what the ‘codes’ are that you have seen recently on Transformers SIEGE posters and packaging, you can try the codes from the SDCC and NYCC posters (which possibly don't work for some reason) or you can try the new Transformers War for Cybertron SIEGE Deluxe Class boxes. Perhaps Voyager and Leader Class packages also have codes on them with the special black ink? Let the speculation begin! What are all of these clues pointing to? Looks like Hasbro launched a teaser site to help crack the codes. Perhaps more content will be available at a later date once more product class sizes are at retail in next coming months. Happy decoding fellow Seibertronians!

You can acces the website here.

Just tried the codes from all 4 deluxe boxes so far, and they translated as:
Cog: FortressMaximus
Hound: Maccadams
Sideswipe: Sunstreaker
Skytread: Duocon

after inputting the codes I was brought to this screen with a countdown to when I can use the code to "access database content":

Very interesting. Guess we have a month to wait to have our curiosity fully satiated.

Well, then I guess Sideswipe shouldn't look like a Countach Lamborghini? And Optimus shouldn't look like a flat nosed cab over truck wearing a floodlight as a hat? Well, surprise! They totally do!

Let's be honest here, many of the alt modes for the Siege line were barely designed with the "Cybertronian" aesthetic in mind. If you didn't tell most consumers that Siege Hound was supposed to be some kind of alien vehicle, do you think they wouldn't assume he's some kind of a military jeep?

My guess would be it's a countdown (get it?) to the full, money shot reveal of Titan-Class Omega Supreme. :-?

Possibly, but then what would the codes be for? I doubt they're gonna give us different codes that'll all lead to the same thing; there's gotta be something else.

On the one hand, I think you might be right about it being different because as you brought up, they're different codes. But on the other, I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro made a pool of codes that you could be given tht just lead to the same thing. If this was going on during SDCC or Hascon next year, I'd suggest maybe it's to give a sneak peek at next year's figures like Sunstreaker, or a leader class Fort Max, similar to IDW's take. As it stands though, my money's on it being a countdown to Omega's full reveal. Timing fits that as well, seeing as they'd wanna start building hype over the year before releasing him late summer. Especially since it appears the promotional decos aren't always the final product and they might want to make sure that people will buy Omega since he's gonna be a risk with non-collectors as is with his partsforming so their best bet would be to appeal to collectors to try and get them to buy him, but they might not if the deco is too battle damaged

Let's talk again about Cog, everyone. He's a figure we didn't expect to ever get mere months ago. He's a very different kind of Deluxe Class figure. And he's won over a lot of hearts already. First off, I will say that I like Cog. He's a great update to the original G1 figure. You can still separate him into his component vehicles of Gasket and Grommet. And he's a veritable "weapons pack" for your figures too! I've got the Transformers Legends Fortress Maximus, and the colors on this new Cog toy are almost a perfect match for the reds and blues used by Takara on their release of Fort Max. Your mileage may vary on the color coordination if you have the Hasbro version(s).

The biggest downside to Cog is, of course, the simplicity of his transformation. You just unfold the legs, lift up the head, and pop off the arms to move them to the shoulders. That's it. His transformation is just not very interesting, and the fact that almost half of it is partsforming makes it even worse. Like others have said before, he has trouble holding his own guns securely in his fists, especially in his right fist, for whatever reason. On the other hand, I will note that, at least on my copy, the combination of Gasket and Grommet in vehicle mode works well, despite being a simple flat tab in slot system. It holds together if you're just rolling Cog around on the table, and he stays together even if you pick him up and handle him gently. Any rough play, and he'll come apart, though. The legs peg into the pelvis pretty loosely too, so as you pose Cog, you'll have to contend with the legs falling off frequently.

Cog is definitely NOT a Deluxe Class Transformers figure that is to be enjoyed in the traditional play patterns. He works great as a display and companion piece to Fortress Maximus, and if that's all you need him for, you won't really find him lacking. If you're like me and you like to pull your figures off the shelf periodically and transform them back and forth, Cog is comes up short, being extremely simplistic to convert and very fiddly when posing in robot mode because of his modular nature and loose tolerances. If you're the kind of person that likes to really "play" with their toys and armor up your other figures or just fool around and see what kinds of silly configurations you can come up with, then Cog is pretty good fun. Is he $20 of fun? I'm not so sure, honestly.

That's too bad, I love him and welcome all of his kind, he spends so much time combined that turning him back into a robot always feels so refreshing, but, you do you I guess

Well, one of my big interests in him is as a companion to Fort Max so I'm glad there. One disappoint for me I can tell in advance is that his handheld guns are both Cerebros' instead of one being his own, but so it goes. He'll still be fun.

He might not be $20 worth of fun, but Hasbro sets more by weight when pricing so.. And hey, he'd probably be no fancier from a 3P maker while costing twice as much because of their economics, so it's not too bad.

Thanks for the mini review of Cog Wolfman :) though I would say that the call out for him but would be akin to "Weaponuzzzeeee! Armour on! (or Weapon On! Depending on what your forming with Cog)

Speaking of weaponisers, I meaht to say that I realised something with Six-Gun (it probably won't be new to anyone else) that he has 5mm posts on his wings in alt mode meaning he can have any deluxe with matching holes in their feet ride atop of him! I wonder if you could put a Cog-ised Siege Deluxe like Sideswipe on top of six gun?
