Dropkick, Dreadwing, Longarm, and Payload Reviews?

Hello all,

Anyone know about these deluxe figures, and whether or not I can read reviews on them anywhere? They keep showing up on the shelves and get left behind, but seem to hold interest enough that each time I go to TRU the numbers dwindle, unlike with Bonecrusher where the number stays constant. They cost the same as the in-the-movie figures with automorph, so I'm wondering if they're worth getting.

Hang on, these figures are out on you shelves?

I didnt think these guys would be releasd until after the Arcee, Bumblebee, Dreadwing, Bonecrusher wave had been out for some time...

The reason you can't find reviews for these figures is because no-one else has gotten these figures as they have not been set into wide distribution.

My only advice is to browse around through the pictures that are already available, and decide whether you like them from the pics. So far the movie line has been generally flawed, but nothing really fatally flawed, just minor issues.

Sorry I made a mistake actually: I believe that only Longarm, Payload and Dreadwing were on the shelves, not Dropkick. We've had Dreadwing for some time now, Arcee is available in tens throughout the island.

The problem is that when these toys came out and the full collection was still on the shelves, few of us really bothered to look at non-movie figures.

The irony is that they were so abundant and I never thought they'd sell out so soon after people watched the movie in droves. I remember passing up a 4 for 3 offer at TRU because I thought Jazz looked dull and should have been shiny, Bumblebee didn't look great, and Optimus Leader was like 10 sets per TRU branch, and 'I'll wait till the clearance.' Who knew, right?

If I'd known, I would've bought 4 Bumblebees for the price of 3, and get 2 Barricades and 2 Jazzes!

Circulation: now how does that work? how is it that there were a couple of reviews for 08 Deluxe BB as long as three months ago, for instance? I have a sneaking suspicion that Hasbro already has lots of toys made, deliberately slowing down the pace of delivery, and occasionally you get 'mistakes' in circulation and some boxes 'leak out' that weren't supposed to.

Ah, you mentioned island, is that the Philippines, Indonesia or somewhere completely different?

That at least explains you having out figures so far in advance of the rest of the world.

Many "advanced" reviews come from people who have bought the test shots, or the production molds, or even early boxed/carded figures from ebay.
I know that at in 1 review of 08 Bumblebee stated that he had gotten the test shot carded figure to review, from ebay and as such, paint apps may not be correct with the final version.

Since the rest of the Pacific only received the Wave of figures with 08 Bumblebee in it a fortnight ago, and that same wave has only just started hitting the USA, it may be some time before the next weave of deluxes is released.

You may just want to get the figures to make sure that you get them, if the toys are moving off the shelves as quick as you say they are.

From Singapore. But why would that explain why we get things earlier? I always wondered even for the movie, how come it didn't premiere in the States?

And how were these sellers on e-bay able to get them in the first place?

Thanks for the advice, but I went back tonight and they're all gone  Still I'm not distraught, since I'm confident that they'll hit us again eventually. I'm just upset I'm going to disappoint a few people who wanted me to get it for, and send it to, them.

Singapore is literally just around the corner from the factories where the Transformers figures are made. Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong usually get most figures at least 2 weeks (but often more than a month) earlier than The USA, Australia, Europe etc. Shipping times are often blamed.

They knick them from the factory, or the testing areas. No joke.

That will happen. And shelves will be restocked, none of these figures are limited releases, so there will come a point in a few months time when everyone has what they want, the fad has died down, and the stores will be flooded with figures.

I didn't think of that! I guess at that time there were so many I figured I'd ask first before buying to save money. If I'd known they aren't supposed to come out I would've bought one each, although I've never written a review before. I've just started buying the toys so really couldn't begin to know where and what to comment on that would interest toy collectors. As it is they're all gone now, so by the time they're back someone wouldn't already posted a review or at least a picture gallery.
