Neither. I'd rather reissues from other lines instead. It's not like these even sell anyway going by the steep discounts on the other figures. It's just like the last few times they reissued G1 figures. They sell well for a few weeks then they clog shelves until they get marked down by around 80%.

Give me a Cybertron Galvatron reissue or another redeco of Tigerhawk or something. They'd sell just as poorly as the G1 figures but at least they'd be more interesting. Or do something similar like Takara did with Unicron of Light and reissue altered versions of exclusive figures from Botcon and the like. I'd love me a Deathsaurus and TM3 Megatron. Predacus, Terrorsaur, Dawn of Future's Past Maximals and Predacons, SG figures, Megazarak, Bugbite, Roulette and Shadow Striker, the list goes on and on.

I grew up on G1 figures, I bought the first bunch of reissues for about $4 each from Toys R Us, then I sold them a few years later as I realized how much I didn't actually like them. I moved on, so should Hasbro. There will always be a place for G1 reissues but Transformers is more than just G1 now and that's putting it mildly.

So in short, bring back the Universe line and don't limit yourself to just G1 reissues.

While I don't disagree in theory, the Universe line came about due to a demand from retailers for more Transformers product. Hasbro didn't have enough new product at the time during Armada/Energon to meet that demand, so they had no choice but to turn to redecoing reissues of preexisting molds.

Nowadays, however, with the runaway success that the live action movies have brought to the brand, Hasbro has plenty of new product to offer retailers. So much so, even, that some of it doesn't even make it to certain retailers, like tail-enders and such.

With the current spread of Siege, Cyberverse, Studio Series, the normal Bumblebee movie line, and even BotBots (Rescue Bots is by a different branch of the company and sold in a different toy aisle than the main lines), that's five lines worth of product available to retailers from Hasbro, in contrast to significantly less abundance of product that was available during the Unicron Trilogy, making a line like the old Universe line an unnecessary endeavor in Hasbro's eyes.

I've said it before, but I will say it again--it all comes down to if they will do anything "special" to these like they did with the first wave of minibots and with Starscream. Since Starscream had painted eyes, I would "hope" they would paint Skywarp's eyes. But if they were do something nice with Blaster...

Like make him a functional radio again? I'd buy that for sure.

Its the same for Skywarp.
The last time Skywarp got a U.S. reissue was in 2003, sixteen years ago. Blaster's had two U.S. reissues since then, once in 2008 and again in 2015.

killin me here

And all we do on vacation is...visit WalMarts??? I feel so much broiling shame leaving my body knowing I'm not alone...I get somewhere new, I want to know what their toy stores are like, and what's on their TV. Can't help it. You know with this miracle invention called a phone we could just call around but you know it absolutely kills the purpose of the thing.

Neither, unless skywarp gets some unreleased cassette tapes with him :p to be fair haven't even the Walmart stuff available over here at in a leisurely buy able way so it's nice to not have to go out of the way to find things I have from previous reissues.

So far the reissues have been one side of the world only with importers supplying everyone else

That surprises me, since ASDA usually gets the Walmart exclusives (since it's literally the UK's Walmart).

Asda rarely even has transformers now. Maybe a few of the kid aimed ones but that's about it since they reduced wave 1 or 2 of studio series many months ago. Not sure if Walmart ever bought out bnm but it will be unlikely they get the exclusives until its discount.

Walmart has wanted rid of Asda for a while now, and ir's been a few years since the ones near me ever had a decent tf range. I too assumed the reissues might have appeared at a few of the stores, if only to promote the bumblebee movie.

I don't think the FBI or CIA would allow that: they accused the first generation of Furbies of being spy equipment.

Now that, that would be the way to do it. Hmmm, man, that's how you make that worth while.

And three more posts and you're at 1984 - time to celebrate :)

How about Blaster standalone with his cassettes in 2-packs like they're doing with Soundwave?

Ooop, you're right yup, looks like Warp lost out. Ah well. You know though you all are proposing ways of making a Blaster reissue way more appealing. I think I lack faith in Wal-Mart of doing anything cool like that though. :BOOM:

Pretty sure it will be a standalone blaster since the idea is to replicate their g1 releases (obviously not to a T). Casette 2 packs make sense.

And unlike with Soundwave, you can get all them that way (Ratbat missed the boat).

I had the brightest idea for a reissue.

This. The G1 Optimus Prime trailer. By itself.

…for 50$US or 70$CAN!
