Why is POTP Grimlock so hard to find?

All the stores around my area do not have any stock of this figure, and pretty much every online store is sold out of POTP Grimlock, except Amazon sellers who have it marked up around 20 dollars more than retail. I was wondering why this is such a hard one to find, and if there was any plans to produce more that anyone has heard about?

I'd just keep looking. He seems to be plentiful around the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Just saw a few around different Targets, Walmarts and Meijer this week.

As for the figure's popularity, it might have something to do with this being the first "G1" Grimlock, released alongside all of his fellow Dinobots, that has ever happened. Yes, I'm excluding Classics and "Energon" Grimlock because POTP Grimlock is definitely more "G1"-esque, despite his many flaws.

I do believe that Grimlock is slated for release again either in Wave 3 or 4 of PotP.

Wave 3, the final known Voyager Wave, to accompany Slug's re-release for Wave 4.

Wave 1 Voyagers seem to have been initially shipped in a lower quantity than usual (like 1 Case per store), however something is causing Starscream and Grimlock to reappear en masse after Elita-1 and Hun-Gurrr, possibly Wave 2 being shipped out sooner than intended.

There is also the issue of several Walmarts no longer carrying PotP Voyagers (been a lot of reports of them going on clearance and tags being removed from the shelves) forcing people to go online for their fix and driving up the prices. Same goes for Leader class. Out of my two local Walmarts both have stopped carrying Leader class all together (PotP and SS) and one has stopped carrying PotP Voyagers (the other probably will as well once wave 2 sells out). Not really sure why Walmart is doing this, in my area at least everything sells pretty well and not much really goes on clearance.

A theory is that Walmart thinks the Studio Series Voyagers will be replacing the regular ones, given their price point.

Anything on Target? I'd still like to get my Hun-Gurrr.

I assume it's popularity. I actually just noticed the other day that we have slews of Starscream's here, and Grim's are few and far between..

I see that here too. There were plenty when he first came out but since he is popular, he got bought off the shelves while Starscream stayed. But he will be back in late summer when Inferno comes out, since he is packaged in the next VOyager Wave, so just hold tight.

I've seen a total of two Grimlocks and three Starscreams in the wilds and they all sold within a few days. I really need a Grimlock, but I refuse to pay more than $30 for it.

Oh, and semi-good news, I was at the Walmart that had removed PotP Voyagers price tags today and they rearranged the shelve tags bringing back PotP Voyagers next to SS Voyagers. Unfortunately they didn't have any PotP Voyagers in stock, but they did get new stock of SS Voyagers... in the PotP shelf spot.

I'm with you on that one, I don't want to have to pay more than $30 dollars for it, but no where has it in stock online, and Amazon is around $45.

Wait till the rerelease in a few months.
