74 Camaro that came out with the 08 Camaro, is that the fixed version?

I nabbed the 74 camaro today along with the 08 camaro since I missed it the first time around. I was thinking since this 74 camaro came out with this new wave of figures, could this be the fixed 74 camaro with no hood problems? I haven't opened the package yet for fear that it could be the old version. How can I tell?

Look at the bottom of the car, see the yellow plastic loops that connect the hood to the body? If one of them is thin while the other is thick, it's the old one. If they're both thin, then it's the fixed version.

It probably is the newer one but if you make sure you press the button on the hood before transforming from car to robot you will be fine with either version. Just read the instructions (there is no shame in learning how to properly transform a toy) and enjoy the figure.

I am looking right at it right now and I see the two plastic loops, they are both the same size, but they have right at the bottom some sort of tab facing each other on the loops. One is wider and the other is thinner. Did you mean just the thickness of the loops or the little tab on the bottom of the loop?
I bought this 74 bumble bee cause its my wife's dream car and she likes bumble bee from the movie so she'll get a surprise today. I just wished they'd stick with the purple windshield and cannons like Takara. Any customized pics out there? I also noticed on the back of the packaged for Protoform Starscream it looks different than the actual toys in terms of color and head.

that must be the newer version mine has one big fat tab (the tab that activates the locking mechanism when you press the button on the hood) i got too many problems with my bb that's why i sliced a tiny piece of plastic that rotates to the tab so that the lock will pass through and lock the hood problem

WOw hey thanks for that link. Yeah I got the bad one even though it came with the new wave.
So you guys better watch out for it and check the bottom of the car. so far I have not any problems with the bumble bee though. What is exactly the problem with it? The button is just a little harder to push but it springs down to robot mode and when I push it back up it locks. The only thing is on the front auto morph of the headlights thats kinda loose like if I push it with my fingers it automorphs but still its stays in car mode...

usually, there are two types of problem
problem no.1 is that the single fat tab is two long that when it locks up the circular loop of the hood it wont release the hood and cause the automorph not to function..
solution: press the button of the the hood with two thumbs with optimus prime strenth for the tab to move with great force
problem no.2 is the circular loop that is to long that it doesnt reach the fat tab which causes the hood to just pop out of nowhere and seems not to lock in car mode
solution: press the hood with megatron strength while pressing the button so that the tab and the end of the loop will meet and hold each other
in my part i sliced the end of the circular loop with a sharp cutter so that it will eventually meet the fat tab

So far I have not encountered any problems with the 08 BB. His automorph is actually pretty cool, I think one of the best...his automorph parts are on the chest and also the legs.
Only problem is the paint job being that the clear parts(clear blue plastic) are casted in one piece, so you get the metal door being a clear plastic and they spray the yellow color on it so sometimes the paint is too thin it shows through causing the door not to match the color of the other parts. I checked carefully before picking up or just buy both.
Still though the I like the clear blue windscreen over the 74s painted windscreen...

I managed to get the 74 BB last night! I had to get the one with the fat tab as they all had it (There were 4 in the store), I live in England and doubt Hasbro UK will bother taking any notice of any problems at the mo'
Apart from the button seeming really stiff it all seems ok (Although the black paint on the button wore of after about 2 or 3 conversions)
I noticed that if you pull down the silly Autobot flab underneath before pressing the button you could get much better leverage on the button!
