I literally took it from the product description. ;)

Studio Series presents Vol.1 of a totally awesome convention exclusive series. Packed with retro radness, this installment features a bodaciously Special Edition Bumblebee Gold Camaro figure and 2 dynamite dino-cassette figures, Dairu and Uruaz (the evil twin of Zauru), remixed from an '80s Japan-only release.

Some of what I wrote was just conjecture (like the Dile/Elid part or vol.2 being their counterparts), but they wouldn't have mentioned Zauru if they didn't intend to release him later.

I know we give Hasbro a lot of flack for their crap photograpy, but I just noticed this and thought it was worth a closer look.

Just when you thought they couldn't get any worse they somehow don't know the end with the eyes is the head, to say nothing of the direction the toes are facing. #-o

And as much as I love dinosaur transformers, it is too far a stretch to imagine a minicassette transform into a dinobot sized beast mode. Imagine how huge this cassette combiner's robot mode would be.

Yeah that's what I think too and don't get why people excited about them. I want the set but only for Bee to add to my Studio collection and I don't need the tapes at all.

Then maybe you two could figure out a way to go halves on the set since you both want what the other doesn't ;-)

There's a guy on Twitter who I've already spoken to who is buying the set and will be selling the Bee and will let me know when he gets it and will likely sell me it. :)
It's a strange set really appealing to very different fanbases.

I really don't care about the movie figures, but I'm going to have to get one of these. The dinosaur cassette combiners have been a want of mine for years, but they're too crazy expensive.

Yeah, it is bizarre, they should have just released the two seperately

Wow... Kinda reminds me of Edward Drinker Cope's first interpretation of Elasmosaurus.

Yep, and more topical it reminds me of the G1 Bombshell KO that was clearly repurposed into a scorpion, but people would constantly refer to as a rhino beetle because they didn't turn it around.

One of four, but when you see them all together it's kinda obvious why Hasbro didn't release the Dinos before now.

They look strange but that's why I like them and curse Hasbro for making these SDCC exclusives

Okay. Knowing we are getting both cassettes solid color and both clear, I'm pretty stoked. These will probably be the only toys I get from the Bee movie.

So they're making us get two Bumblebee toy sets in order to get ONE set of the original Dinocasette combiners and one clear plastic version of the same combiner, but that version is a Decepticon, and the other Dinocasette combiner is nowhere to be seen. Okaaaaaaay.....

[quote="Emerje"]And since they've basically confirmed they're making a tradition of this expect Decepticon Uriad and Autobot Zauru next year (or perhaps at NYCC?).

So I was right about Uriad, but wrong about NYCC. I think I'm going to pass on these unless I come into a sudden windfall and hope Takara does these in Encore.

It's entirely possible they only had Legout's mold(s) available and couldn't find Decibel's (if they still exist), kinda like how when FunPub used the Grand pretender shell, they had to substitute weapon molds from Titans Return because they couldn't find Grand's, of how they were going to put Takara's "Metals" version of Jaguar/Ravage in the BW 10th anniversary line but the mold went MIA at some point after 3H used it for Tigatron at Botcon '01 (if I'm remembering these things right).

Speaking of Legout, I'm calling the evil version "Leogut" until an official name surfaces, because it sounds like a decent bizzarro doppelganger name and "Tuogel" sounds like a brand of toothpaste.

Well cool, I was just wondering how tough he'd Bee to pick up (hahahaha I'm not funny) but bam, right up on BBTS! I'm gonna grab him and the regular release, then display one with and one without the battle mask. He looks like a lot of fun, might even pick one up for my mom since she likes old VWs so much.

I neeeeed this Bee. I do not need crappy G1 cassettes that Hasbro didn't think were worth releasing in their original era.

I like that it is different from the SDCC version so people who did get the SDCC version wouldn't be cheated.
